I ordered the large and it is a bit big in the hips and arms. I ordered the medium to see if it would be a better fit and it was very snug. I am returning the medium and keeping the large. I feel like I needed something between the two sizes. It is a beautiful coat.

I couldn't decide between the blue or the cream, so I bought both. I wanted to try them on and see which color looked best. I am keeping the cream. I am tall and thin, with monkey arms. I typically need the medium for arm length, but the small to fit my narrow hips. The small fits great. I could use a tiny bit of arm length, but I know the medium would not give me any shape. As long as I don't walk around with my arms up over my head, the arm length is fine. I think this is soft! I half expected it to be stiff like the Retro fleece of Beans competitor, but it is not. The lining is super soft and flexible. I am psyched with my purchase. If ever this goes on the daily deal, I am buying the blue one as well!

To begin, my stats: 37-30-43 (Typically a M(tall) in tops and 10 on bottom, athletic hourglass, broad shoulders, bubble butt). I do agree with the other reviewer that mentioned this isn't AS soft as I had anticipated, however I think the good outweighs the bad by far, and it's still super cute and functional! I initially ordered a medium and large but the large was on back order, so I decided to cancel it and just hope that my ample hips would fit in the medium! They do! With a little room to spare - I love the double zipper which allows for more flexibility/mobility around the hips. deep pockets, with zippers are great. The medium fit me a little looser than the picture of the model, but the sleeves would have been to short if I went any smaller. Plenty long for my 5'9'' frame. Keeping it!

Almost. but not quite. The dark color trim on the brown and white one makes it look cheap. Like they took a bad shortcut. I see that a lot with thes company. Otherwise I would recommend it.

I had been eyeing this coat for a while before I bought it. I love the color and how it looks on me. It is bulky and is a little bit heavy to wear.

It's a cute coat, but just not my style. It's a better style for younger girls. The small petite was too small. The sleeves were tight. I returned it.

This is lightweight and I'm not sure why it's described as a coat. Also, much too tight across the chest and I'm not even very busty, so I had to return and try a size up. Not sure if I will keep the larger size. Also, I paid $170 for this jacket through the website, but it came shipped to me with a price tag attached for $149. Why the mark-up?

I loves Beans, and I'll probably end up keeping this jacket, it's warm, it does have big pockets. However, it's not as cute or soft as I thought it would be, definitely gives "wearing a dog bed" vibes to me.

Love the cozy Sherpa-like fleece. It has some styling so it's not boxy but the liningvery stiff!! Returned by mail. Was very surprised the refund is a Bean gift card!!! Not my first choice!

I loved the feel of the fleece coat but it was too tight. It was my usual size, medium.

The coat was uncomfortably stiff. It stood away from my body as if it were starched. The liner wasn't comfortable either. I expected better for the price.

The zipper opens up from the bottom when my wife sits down, something that shouldn't happen. Seems to have a zipper defect. It doesn't feel tight when she sits down but the zipper opens up starting at the bottom where the two sides of the zipper meet.

After trying on this coat, I wondered if just ran small or if it was mis-marked. I decided to return it because it didn't fit me properly and I thought it wasn't as warm as anticipated.

It looks much warmer than what it really is. The inner part is not as warm as the outer one.

Expected more warmth and insulation from cold. It is overall a good outerwear for light breeze but won't stand a chance against cold winter breeze or the weather. Kind of disappointed since I bought two; for my daughters.

Very happy with the style of the coat, it's coverage and the details ON THE OUTSIDE of the garment. It's a bit unique and that's nice. But the lining, Bean, what on earth were you thinking? I don't think you could have found a more cold and stiff fabric for the lining. It's as though it was made by an off brand company for sale at a cheap outlet store. I have to put a scarf around my neck where the lining would otherwise touch, otherwise shivers in cold weather because that fabric is COLD!!! If you were going to use sweatshirt fabric for the lining it should have been the soft inside of a good sweatshirt and not the stiff outside of a cheap sweatshirt.

I was so expecting a fuzzy light wt coat but when I tried it on, the lining was so stiff that I could barely bend my arms, Also I thought it ran a bit small for an XL coat for winter. I returned it. Why the stiff linking I have no idea

It's a quality made fleece jacket- I just don't like the thick flat fleece that this is- otherwise this is a beautiful jacket - thick and would keep someone nice & warm.

"I've always been a fan of L.L. Bean products, so I was really excited about this coat, expecting it to be warm and cozy for winter. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. While the outside feels nice, the inside is surprisingly scratchy, which makes it uncomfortable to wear, especially if you're expecting something soft and fuzzy. The fit is also awkwardit's particularly tight in the arms, which restricts movement and makes layering impossible. It's disappointing to say, but this is the first L.L. Bean product I've purchased that hasn't lived up to the quality and comfort I've come to expect. I hope they revisit the design and make adjustments in the future!"

First of all I love the dark green color. I wish they had more items in this shade. I love the pockets they are large with zippers and soft cozy fabric inside to keep hands warm. However I tried this jacket out on a 55 degree breezy day in Ohio and the hood was not warm. The air came through the fabric and my ears got cold. Also the hood is not designed good. It has good pull ties but if you wear glasses and pull the ties up to keep your neck warm, your glasses won't sit right. Also while the coat feels comfortable it was snug with just a thin flannel shirt. If you want to wear a sweater underneath which you will probably need in winter you will need to size up. I'm afraid sizing up for me would make it too big. I wear a medium. While some people said the lining was stiff and uncomfortable, I thought it was fine although not very soft or pretty. It did seem to make it slide on and off easily. I'm not sure how the outside fabric would wear over time. It is loopier than I expected. Reminds me of carpet. I am returning it because of the fit.

I thoughtbthis would be a light wt fluffy coat but the lining inside was very rough and heavy. I could barely bend my arms. Also I felt it ran a bit smaller than expected. But why the heavy material to line iti returned it.

The jacket runs small so had to return. I thought the outside material would be soft but it wasn't. Disappointed in the item for the price. It didn't live up to its picture.

This jacket is very well made. The reasons I took away a couple of stars are: the fit seems a bit off, the jacket fits on my body but sleeve are long (not a big deal, I will cuff them) and I was disappointed that the materials wasn't soft and cozy, it's more stiff.
