Coat is great. The pockets are a nightmare, I have ruined 2 phones now because of this jacket. The pockets are barely deep enough to hold a few credit cards, and they have a weird angle so they are basically useless. I love this coat but I hate the pockets so much I would return it in a heartbeat. Lost gloves, keys, etc. also the snaps and hardware are also tough to use. 2/5, needs improvement

This is a very cute jacket. Love that it cinches at the waist, but even in an Indiana winter you won't stay warm unless its 30-40 degrees without any wind. Terribly disappointed. Could use some fleece on the inside to keep the chill out.

Shoulders, upper back, arms fit just right. The torso to bottom hem were three sizes too huge. Size Large. 5'4" 125lbs. Medium in same coat was too tight in shoulders, upper back, arms .

Tried to find a tall coat--but this was not long enough in the arms and the neckline was stiffer than I'd like. Nice design and shape otherwise. I'm 5'11'' if that helps.

I consider myself an expert when it comes to coats, so here it goes. I love the look, weight and warmth of this one. The bronze snap closure give it a classier look than a typical winter parka. That being said, I like the look, but not the function. One thing I hate on coats is a snap closure on pockets. I find them difficult to close easily with one hand. If I don't snap it closed my wallet or phone easily falls out with movement (the pockets are shallow). As an Alaskan outdoorsy woman, I do not carry a purse, so pockets are important. I wish this jacket had deeper pockets or a large inside pocket. There is a small zipper pocket at the chest inside, but I don't find this easily accessible when out running errands. The hood is another issue. I hate it. It falls over the forehead into my eyes and it's wide, causing cold air to get in. If you use the cinch closures on the sides it doesn't bring the hood in closer to your face, it only cinches the top over into your eyes. A cinch at the back of the head may be nicer to create a better fit. I do think this coat would be nice in a knee length.
Size: at 5'2" I typically fluctuate between petites and regulars. I do find the sleeves too short on this petite coat. I would return or exchange if I hadn't worn it a few times already.
If there were improvements to the pockets and hood I would love this coat! I may try a different style.

Thin, not much down fill. Has plastic zipper. Sent it right back. Not enough coat here for the price. Nice styling though, wish it were a better coat.

This jacket is really not very warm. Warm to maybe 30 degrees if there's no wind. Wind seems to go straight through it plus the fabric and lining get cold and pass the cold on to your body. Arms are so slim you can't wear much under it. Pretty worthless. Sorry I took the tags off so I can't return it.

The zipper has issues...the parka really isn't that warm? Sort of disappointed in the parka.

Coat is decently warm between the temps of 30-20 with out the wind. Fits very nicely only disappointment For me was a couple days after owning it, couple seams in the back had opened slightly so feathers were really coming out.

This jacket is incredibly warm but the zipper would always get stuck at the bottom and after a week of wearing it both pull tabs fell off so I can only button it closed.

The entire coat is comfy and fits well, but I agree that with other reviewers that it's a bit shapeless. Ultimately I'm returning it because the zipper area is stiff and uncomfortable, jabbing me in the chin when fully zipped. Also the pockets are a bit shallow. I can see phones and such falling out and being lost.

I really wanted to like this jacket, but i had to return it because the hood was so big and I immediately had problems with the zipper. Maybe if I sized down it would have been better but also the pockets were at an awkward length.

This coat fits nicely and is comfortable. I love that it has snaps instead of velcro, as Velcro destroys my scarves/hats/mittens. Unfortuneately, the zipper on this coat is terrible. 8 times out of 10, it won't zip. It takes 4 or 5 tries to zip the thing up. It makes me hate this coat.

I bought this coat after purchasing another LL Bean coat and having to return it for being too large and bulky. I ordered this one in XS. I am 5'5", 130 pounds and and 12 weeks pregnant right now. Having trouble getting my size 4 pants to button because I'm getting a bump. I bought this coat because it was fitted and had a band around the middle that I assumed you could tighten. This coat is huge! It is not fitted AT ALL. It has a bungee cord so you can tighten it around your waist, but in a ridiculous twist of fate it only tightens the inner lining, so there's no difference at all in form. Why can LL Bean not make a coat that has a shape to it? In addition to the body of the coat being huge, the hood is hilariously tall. Like you could be Dan Akroyd in the coneheads movie and this hood would be too tall for you. I cracked up when I looked in the mirror. I will return this coat because it's too expensive to be so poorly designed.

I ordered the jacket twice, it was way too large the first time. I reordered a smaller size, still fit like I was wearing a bell. Flared at the bottom and no string to cinch it. Cold air would enter at the bottom of the coat. Still waiting for my refund.

I have no idea how this is rated to be comfortable at 10 degrees. I took an easy hike in it on a 30 degree day and was cold. It is extremely thin- in some places it feels like it is just two pieces of nylon with no fill at all. After all my years getting Bean jackets for me and my kids, this is the first that I have been disappointed in.

I'm being generous with two stars and that's a first for me. I buy a lot of things from llbean and I had my usual high expectations for this coat. I wanted something that would come to mid thigh And it does, but It's too large. I'm swimming in it. I'd order a medium except for the smell. I just changed my clothes, honestly. I will return it.

Don't buy this jacket. I can't recommend it. Poorly made, and not warm enough for Minnesota winters even though it states it's the warmest LL Bean has to offer. Other than that, it fits true to size and fast delivery.

The upper half of your body is warm... but because of the cinched waist, your legs get really cold!

Love the coat. But first time I ordered it the zipper didn't work. They replaced it. Second coat zipper seemed to work better then stopped working a few months in. Super disappointed

So super bummed that I got the jacket on the first really cold day and it's got a defective zipper. It's almost like the teeth are mis-sized between the bottom and top zippers. Before I realized that however, I had put it on all happy because it was light weight, fit really well, is a nice blue shade, and a nice length. I was thinking my rear end would be nicely covered while out snowblowing the driveway. Also I was going to go outside to see how warm it was in the cold wind. Then tried to zip it to no avail. Took it off to examine and try to zip - nothing doing. They're going to send a replacement as soon as they can get one in because they're backordered. I hope the next one is the charm because I like the jacket.

Jacket was very large. Also had an odd smell, like mothballs. If it fit, I would most likely return due to the odor. Disappointed, I had high hopes!

Although a nice looking, after purchasing two different sized jackets, including the petite that should have fit perfectly, I returned them both. The hood was so big even on the petite that to fell down over nose! There is no strap in the back to make to smaller. Wearing a hat underneath didn't help. Tightening the drawstring just tightened over my eyes. The sleeves were too long and bulky. The length was too long for the style (I'm 5'3"). It felt like a bathrobe. The color choices are limited too. I finally bought a nice warm parka with a perfectly sized hood at Macy's in a lighter color (but not white) that I like. And to was cheaper than LLBeans.

Loved the color, burgundy. Loved the fit, petite X-SM. Exchanged 3 times hoping the snaps would close on one of the jackets. However, all 3 parkas had snaps that would not close. Disappointing.
