Warm and cozy parka. Love it! It seems warm enough for really cold winter days. Haven't had as much opportunities to try it this winter yet. Definitely a keeper!

I bought this coat to wear to the NFL playoffs and root my team on. It was cold and windy the first week, then cold with rain showers the second week, but my new coat kept me warm and dry. Very happy with my purchase!

I tried this coat on at the suggestion of a particularly helpful saleswoman after I walked by it and felt uninterested. It felitand looked good the moment I zipped it up. I usually wear petite but as this hits me at mid thigh it blocks out the frigid temperatures and wind we have been having. It keeps me warmer than my other 2 LL Bean winter coats. I would have appreciated having deeper pockets but if I put my cell phone into the zippered section of the pocket it remains secure.

Love this coat! It's very warm so great for colder days and climates. The petite fit is perfect for this 5'1" and shrinking frame. I think the pockets are good in both size and number. Very happy with the purchase. Would Recommend!

Stood outside chatting for quite a while in low 40's, overcast and super windy and kept me warm (with a sweater underneath). I normally wear petite but the sleeves on a regular were not too long. There are zippers inside the front pockets so you can zip something inside and put your hands in without disturbing the contents, plus there is a small zippered pocket inside the chest area. Hood snaps on and off easily (but not so easily that if falls off accidentally). Slightly more fitted in the waist would be nicer for styling but there is an inside cord that helps a bit.

This is my second jacket. I purchased a second one because I am washing them so often. Warm, but seems to "breathe". Long story, try to make it short. My husband passed away in July and I have full responsibility of 4 horses and his pet buffalo in the barn. We had the coldest January here in 30 years! Lots of damage with the wind, and wet tree roots (this is the northwest). I wore cleated shoes to walk to the barn (I only fell down once). Anyway, this coat was a lifesaver-kept me warm and dry (water was a BIG problem). Best coat I have owned. By the way, I am 71 years young!

I'm 5'2 so the petite was the perfect cut. Highly recommend. The pockets are a little shallow but my iphone13 does fit and zip

Love my new coat. Really wanted a coat with a hood and this one is detachable. Navy is a nice color and lots of pockets including an extra zip pocket in the hand pockets. The coat comes right below my but so not too long.

After many hours of pondering, I finally decided on this parka in Navy. I was on the fence between the Kelp and the Navy but went with Navy. I thought it would be a nice contrast to most of my wardrobe and it is. Navy also looks great with black boots. It's a really nice shade, more of a dark denim navy and not overly bright. Now onto the size. After reading many reviews, I went with a medium. For reference, I'm 5' 6" 158lbs with a regular build and average bust. It fits perfectly with a little room to spare. A large would have been way too big. LL. Bean seems to be more generous in sizing which is nice. I have fairly long arms and the sleeves have plenty of length. There are a lot of complaints about the pockets. I'm not sure why. To me they are fine with a hidden inside zippered pocket as well that my fairly large phone fits in perfectly. Overall, I love this coat. You can see the quality. It's soft, warm and cozy. I hope this helps.

I love this coat! It is so warm. I do agree with others that the pockets could be larger.

Loved the shape as well as warmth of the coat. The pocket does have a zip option as well as a button. My iphone fits in there just fine. Sleeve length is great for a petite 4'11" woman. Thank you LL Bean for including petite women sizes in your lines.

Thia was a gift for my wife for Christmas. She says it a warm coat. She just wishes that it had a fur trimmed hood.

This replaced another down jacket that wore out on me because I had it forever. The parka is very warm and comfortable. I'm 5'3" and 150 lbs. I bought size large to add room for layering. I like both the front zipper and metal snaps. I agree with others that the zipper could be improved. For those complaining about the pockets, there are zippered pockets inside the side pockets that will keep your valuables from falling out.

Toasty warm in the coldest weather but not too hot in milder winter weather. Good fit.
