These are the perfect multi season hiking pant. They breathe and wick moisture better than any hiking pant I've owned. I took the drawstring out as I felt the elastic was sufficient (and slimming!) and the fabric breathes lovely. My only complaint was that some of the stitching came out on the outer double seam on the first wear, but it's not something that hindered the structural integrity and really takes a keen eye to spot anyway.

I bought the sale color, Rust, to try these pants and I'm almost thrilled. The fabric is wonderful...Super light-weight and cool, and has good stretch. The length is good, but if you want to cinch the ankles for bug protection, you may want the longer length to make up the difference. My only suggestions would be to make the waistband a bit less than 2.5" wide and to make the draw cord a bit wider and less stretchy. (When I cinch the waist comfortably, I have 12" hanging from each side of the bow tied at the waist...And I don't have a small waist.)

Loved the dusty olive color, the well-placed and roomy pockets, two with zippers. Lightweight fabric. The size L was way,way too large on me. I am between an M and an L, so to be safe I usually go for the larger size. I returned the pair via mail, and am anxiously awaiting my replacement, which I now see is on back order! Until July! Next time, if I am unsure about which size, I will order two pairs and return one. More costly, but also more certainty.

I bought these pants in the sale color, and while they fit great, I was very disappointed that there was no drawstring on the ankles as shown in the illustration of the pants on the webpage.

Them all spring and summer. This is not the first time I've purchased these pants. I own them in every color wish they would make more colors.

These are comfortable pants. Wish you made the cropped pants in petite! More colors please.

Love the pants but not the pilling. The petite length was great for me. I normally buy petite medium in clothing stores but the small fit me perfectly. I noticed the pilling on the slate pair that I bought a year ago.

These are great work pants during the summer and are baggy. I would recommend ordering a size down just because of their loose fit and although they are tie waistband, they don't tie all the way right if you order too big.

These pants are great for summer hikes, but like with many L.L.Bean pants, I wish the rise were higher. Low rider pants went out of style ten years ago, so I have no idea why L.L. Bean still has so many low rise styles. I'm sure older and younger shoppers alike would appreciate a higher rise on their pants, especially styles that are meant for activewear.

But I have not worn the pants because they are too big. I know, I could have returned them but that is one reason I don't buy online very often. I hate the hassle of returning & just take my losses & try to remember to not buy online unless I'm positive that it will fit. I did spend a lot of time going through the reviews & thought I picked the right size but the legs are so full they look like clown pants on me. I did buy a pair of pants last year that stop right below the knee & they were perfect. I thought these would fit the same way but just too much material. Still like LLBean clothing though when I do find something that fits.

Like other reviewers, I really like these pants except for the stretchy drawstring which is useless. The pants are made of a slippery fabric, and I need a real drawstring to help keep them up. Now I'm going to have to locate some dark gray paracord (not easy) and take the pants apart to thread it into place, which is something I shouldn't have to do for clothing at this price point. I would also like these in a true dark navy not the bright nautical navy.

I only rated this a 4-star because the size was smaller than I expected. I usually order a medium from LL Bean, but wanted these to be super roomy. Glad I did, because the Large isn't super roomy, but it is comfortable; fit more like a medium.

Pants are comfy, but lightweight. So I plan to wear them in warmer weather.

I like to wear these pants out hiking. I like them but the pant legs do snag so I have to stay on the paths in the brush the pants are ruined. Other than the snaging the pants are comfortable and and i like wearing them. The pockets are great deep and have the button closure.

These are very comfortable pants and are perfect for camping. They're light and comfy. The only issue with them is that they were about 3 inches too long. Since there is a drawstring at the bottom, hemming them was a bit of a challenge for me. I'll appreciate keeping the mosquitos off me while camping.

The pants are comfortable, though a little shorter in the rise than I like so they hit at lower waist. The fabric snags easily so I am not sure of the overall lifespan. They are lightweight, and comfortable except when it's warm and humid.

When the weather turns warmer, these are for you! Quick drying, good in rain or water crossings hikes. Very comfortable. Maybe pockets, which ALL women are wishing were a tad more robust. . . Even on these. We women have phones and keys too, you know! Sometimes a purse is not an option!

I really like these pants, but big problem is that they pile after washing. I own several pairs and same problem with all. Recommend hand wash or wash separately. I have small white piling on all. I still wear them, but they look a bit ragged.

Bought these for use as lightweight hiking pants and they fit the bill. Comfortable and flattering enough to wear out and about as well. If I had a single criticism, it's that the back pockets are not deep enough to hold a phone. I don't even have one of the bigger smart phones, just a regular iPhone.

Nice fabric, nice fit, good length for me, nice color, lots of pockets, but the cargo pockets are tiny. My phone didn't fit. I use cargo pockets when I go hiking, and I need them bigger than these. Got to return these pants.

I love these pants. The only reason I gave them four stars, instead of five, is because they run small. I haven't washed them yet, but I'm sure they'll wash well.

Love these Pants........I first got Small Reg, they were comfy and a bit short. I then tried the X-small Reg before they came in Med Tall, it fit perfectly, but still a bit short in the leg, so I'm waiting now to get X-Sm Med Tall. This sizing should be perfect and then a 5 star rating.

They run pretty large. I originally bought 2x in several colors and wore them in the fall. I also ordered some 1x and they fit better. Very comfy
