I both love these pants and am disappointed with them. They are perfectly comfortable. I appreciate all of the closable pockets, high waist, stretch fit, and appearance. Unfortunately, they started pilling within a couple of weeks, and that's with being more cautious with their care than the tag said (i.e., hang drying). I don't like having to be careful not to sit on rough surfaces, like a wooden bench or concrete, but these pants are so great otherwise that I have two pair and will buy more. I just hope LL Bean can improve the material quality and durability going forward.

I love these pants so much. I have four pairs and am going to order more. My only "complaint" is that the seam on the top of the thigh seems to have the threads come undone and I've had to re-sew 2 pairs of them, but I love them so much I will continue to buy them. I'll hardly ever wear jeans again. So comfortable and casual, but they look nice.

Completely comfortable. However, the tie is unnecessary bc it's super stretchy and doesn't really help the pants to fit better in the waist. Should just be elastic waist or change the tie so it actually fills its purpose.

Very comfortable to work out in, comfortable for driving long distances. We are to wear black slacks at work but no workout pants. I wish I could wear them on Thursday my largest receiving day but with the off color stitching I don't think pull it off. They do bag and sag as you wear them.

*****CONS*****: These would be perfect if the thigh cargo pockets were large enough for a cell phone (or ANY thing) and if the elastics at the ankles had a stop toggle or means to adjust and hold. You have to knot the elastics at the ankles if you want to, say, walk along the shore and adjust the pants up your shins so they don't get wet. The pockets are only 4.5" deep flat--so not large enough for anything for those of us who wear cargos to keep our hands free. (Photo shows my iPhone 7 case sticking 2" out of the pocket)
*****PROS*****: I get many compliments from both men and women when I wear these pants. They are perfect for a day-long boat trip, and dry super fast when they inevitably get wet. Very light weight. I don't notice that the pants get uncomfortably hot and feel like they don't breathe as much as when I wear UPF 50 shirts. They look stylish for running errands, as a beach cover-up--I even jog in them. When I am 168 lbs, they do get a little tight around the thighs, hips and waist--but still wearable and comfortable (my weight is evenly distributed, but the first two are where it goes first). The pants look and feel best when I am 155 lbs. I love the nautical navy color--which I would describe best as a Prussian blue--so a bit less "royal" or cobalt in person than it looks when I blow up the LLbean photo on my computer screen. One could also say that the pants are brighter and not as "black" as many navy blues. Don't go by the color of my photos; the LLBean website is more true. The material is tough for how light-weight it is, withstanding a sharp object that wanted to snag them. I would purchase these pants in every color if the side-thigh pockets were deeper and could actually hold something. Even so, I highly recommend!

I like these pants and bought several in different colors. Pros: They fit well and are very comfortable. Easy to wash and line dry overnight. Great for travel and all-around wear. The cons: Like others have reported, the fabric tends to pill after only a few months of use. Also, the elastic at the hems is hard to figure outdo you tie it, or what? I'd prefer just a toggle on the elastic, or a fastener of some type at the hem.

Love the material, great pant for warm weather.. Waist band a bit bulky for thin waistlines, & I wish the cinch cord @ ankles came with toggles. But the positives outweigh the negatives & I bought a second pair in another color.

Purchased for hiking, biking and kayaking in July in Acadia National Park. They are very comfortable a little too baggy.

Pants fit great, comfortable and lightweight. Bought them for gardening. The only negative is I wish the cuffs had a locking system to cinch them up to keep bugs from crawling up. I have been washing them by hand as several customers have commented on the pilling issue.

I love these pants so much with the exception of one thing. I can't seem to keep the waist tied and secure for the duration of a hike. I feel like I'm often having to stop to re-tie. Otherwise, they are great!

Super light-weight and comfortable. The "cargo pockets" are too small to be of much use, although with such a light fabric you wouldn't want to carry too much weight in them. The elastic drawstring is pointless, I will have to replace it with something that doesn't stretch.

Cool and comfortable. Four stars because of price and I wish there weren't buttons on the back pockets, pants would look better if back pockets laid flat. If you're wearing a slightly longer shirt it doesn't look right.

I love the material of the Vista Camp straight legged pants,. The fit wasn't flattering. The fit of the cropped pants fit much better.

I love the pants that I thought I had ordered, and would have loved these, too. Bought a pair in 2019 which were perfect, and went online to buy more last month. Used the exact same article number and exact same size, but received a slightly different version. The original didn't have elastic cuffs, and the size Reg L was 31 inches (perfect!). The new ones had elastic cuffs and the same size was 33 IN. Fortunately was able to remove the elastic and a seamstress shortened them for me. But that added on $20 to the price..

Very comfortable to me. The waistline is well thought, and very stretchable, and soft. It does pill easily and can get some threads pull on tight hiking paths, however good for both everyday living and hiking situations. Bought two, and might need more. Colors are so-so. Bright red, anyone?

Comfortable and stylish casual pants. I love the 33" length. I'm 5'8" and 140 lbs and the medium is a good fit. It's little loose fitting but works.

I love them except the material pills and takes away from the looks.

These pants fit well, are lightweight for hot weather, UV-protectant, and easy to pack (and wash overnight) for travel. What's not to like? The abundance of hard buttons, which add nothing to style and which I'll have to reinforce individually by sewing them on more securely. Zippers would be much better for pocket security, a sleeker look, and overall comfort. But if your button tolerance is high, you'll love these pants!

Pants are great, except that they seem to run large. I ordered a small, but next time (in another color) I will order an XS for a better fit. Otherwise, I love the style and they wash well.

These are super-comfortable, have tons of pockets, and look nice enough for running errands in addition to hiking! My only issue is that the fabric is slightly prone to snagging, and the stitching is very prone to coming undone, especially on the seam above the knees. Of course LL Bean will take them back within a year, but it's a bummer these pants that are perfect in every other way have this flaw with the stitching!
I put "true to size" in that they're true to LL Bean's sizing, which I find is more generous than other brands. I wear a L or XL but usually an XL, or 12/14, in most brands, and these L pants are plenty roomy. Also, I do have some MT pants from LL Bean that fit well, but in MT these were very long on me. The regular length hits right around the ankle but since I usually cinch the ankle opening, it looks fine.

These pants are so comfortable and easy to slide with the stretchy waistband (yet fashionable). Lots of pockets. Main pockets have zippers that zip up; always a plus! I was so happy to find these! The only drawback is my phone is quite large and it just fits in the pocket. But it does fit. I've already worn them biking, hiking, and camping. They're my new go-to pants for nights and weekends in Wisconsin. I'm 5'1" and the petite is perfect.

Love the pants. Have several pairs. I would prefer if the draw string around the waist could be removed.

The pants are lightweight and are great for muggy days outside or for protection from wind and rain. In the first month I popped one of the seams above the knee when I pulled my knees up to my chest. That seam runs tighter than the the rest of the cloth and other stitching when moving around. I've gained a few pounds in the last year, maybe I should have considered a medium? I'm 5'3" 130 lbs. The stitching was an easy fix and the double stitching meant no hole until I could fix it.

Comfy pants but long for petite. XL is sort of too large. The spruce color is very pretty.
At the same time I bought a pair of Vista Camp Pants slim-leg petite XL and they fit completely differently! The slim-leg are quite a bit shorter and slimmer throughout. I really like the fit of the slim-leg. I think I'll buy one in spruce. Nice fabric.

These fit well and were very comfortable. They look as I expected. The material is a bit thin and I am concerned that they will wear out quickly, but time will tell!
