I have a pair of "Ducks" but wanted something that had a taller shaft. Plus, I was afraid the Ducks would be too warm. I bought the Croc Classic Rain Boot for a trip to Ireland May. I heard these type of rain boots are a must. There's plenty of room to tuck in any type of pants. I wear an 8 or 8.5. The 9's were too big (do'able but I would slip around too much). The size 8 (women's) was perfect with plenty of room for my toes to wiggle. If I want them cooler, I'll wear thinner socks; warmer, I'll wear thicker socks. I love the bright yellow color too.

My wife and I live in East Texas. We have some property and rescue animals, so we do a lot of work and chores outside. The back half of our property is always wet and boggy, even standing water a lot of the time. I am 6'2" 237 lbs. These Croc Rain Boots are perfect for our situation. They are tough enough that even crunching through briars and stiff woody undergrowth (on dog walks) will not penetrate them. They are so comfortable that there is no need for an insert of any kind, meaning they can be rinsed off inside and out (and dry quickly), which cannot be said for 99% of all other rainboots. They are basically one piece, meaning no glued seams to rip or come unglued. Comfortable, durable, convenient, just perfect. One note: if you need boots for working in more slick muddy conditions, these might not be the best as far as traction is concerned. The sole pattern is not too aggressive, meaning not the best traction in slick mud. We have a few little areas like that and my foot has slipped in that a few times, but I never fell. However, on the plus side, I wouldn't want the sole any other way, because they are super easy to clean off ie they can easily be worn into the house after chores with minimal cleaning effort. Basically just wipe them off on the mat a few times and they're clean. One other note: I am (at the smallest) a size 11, and I usually wear 11.5 or 12 boots (in other boots, not these). I ordered size 11 in these and had to send them back, they slipped so much on the heel. I then ordered a 10 and it was perfect. Still a tad slippage but nothing notable. One last thing: the opening to put your foot in is on the small side, I really had trouble getting my foot in without help. So now I use a 24" Ortho shoehorn. Any shoehorn should work, and I highly recommend getting one for these boots because with an shoehorn they just pop right on no problem and it just makes life that much easier.
