Highest rating. Glad it's water resistant and wind resistant in the windy bay area.

Very nice jacket. Nicely wind and water resistant. I was surprised how warm it was. The fit was perfect.

I had the same one from a few years back but I lost weight and bought a new one a size down. Same high-quality jacket and my only gripe is that the LLB logo is now a sticker rather than embroidered.

Great jacket with many features. The jacket is very windproof and water proof, l've already worn in it in several wet and windy days. Wish it was made here, I would have paid twice the price.

Excellent product. Has waist draw strings, very wind proof and not too heavy.
Good for taking the chill off. Picture in catalog makes jacket look plastic. It is not.
It's very stylish and well made.

I bought this for some fall weather and to use as a layer with a rain jacket and also possiblysome spring skiing. I'm 6'3 225lbs and the jacket fits great. I was outside in40 degree weather and I was comfortable. Good looking jacket, even my wife likes it on me.

I like the fit. The sizing is very accurate. I always look for plenty of pockets and this has 3 on the outside, with zippers. There are also a few places inside to stash things.
I also like that the bottom hem and cuffs are adjustable so I can personalize the fit.
The brand is visible on the front of the jacket but looks dressier because it is subtle.

Bought this on accident. I went into the store looking to buy a different jacket, thought I knew what I was looking for, picket this one up accidentally, bought it, and love it. The fit is right on. It said that I needed a large for my frame and it is right on. Jacket is perfect for those cool fall or spring mornings. It is lightweight and easily foldable to fit into a bag. Lastly, it looks really nice. A happy accident.

Sleeves do not allow you to easily wear layers underneath

I'm happy with its features. I generally order size Small, however this one is a big tight around the waist compared to other purchases. However the sleeves are plenty long, so Medium probably wouldn't work.

My son came to me and said dad i like this jacket he seen online it's casual and sporty at the same time made by l.l Bean for school. When he received it It was just as he expected great fit lightweight and all his school friends complimented him. Not counting saying to me dad it must've look good. Girls were looking at me I laughed and said son I'm glad ur happy with it cuz I remember them days in highschool... So thank you much l.l Bean for making him smile and he's very picky! Great product....

It fits well and is warm. I like the color and all the pockets. However, the lining tends to stick to my long-sleeve shirt when putting the jacket on or taking it off.
I like the fabric of a similar jacket, that Bean no longer offers, better than this one because it feels softer and the lining doesn't stick. That older jacket is tan. I'd hoped this new jacket would be of the same material, only navy, but that's the breaks.
If they made this jacket, with all its pockets, of the same nylon material as my older one it would be perfect.

Love the styling and detail on this jacket. And it is as advertised for functionality!
One slight downside for me is that it's just a bit tight in the shoulders. I'm 6'4" 220lbs and weight train so that may play a part.

This is a great three season jacket. I have only one negative thing to mention, the sleeves are fleece lined and I am not a fan of fleece lined sleeves. I realize this is a personal taste issue and does not reflect on the overall quality of the jacket. I would have given the jacket 5 stars had the sleeves been lined with nylon taffeta.

The jacket is well made and effective. The sleeves are a bit narrow. With their fleece lining, pushing a flannel shirt on top of a long sleeved base layer through the sleeves takes a bit of effort.

Positives; excellent style, quality build, quality materials.
Negatives; oddly tight in the upper arm area (I don't have unusually large biceps), not much as a shell for warmth or wind breaking, and the fleece-like material the inner sleeve is made of bunches up your short sleeve undershirt like no other (weirdly frustrating)

Much better zipper used in the LL Bean Soft Shell Jacket than in my previous Columbia version. A cinch cord in the middle of the jacket would be a nice addition.

Just received the jacket the other day. It is very comfortable but the sleeves are about two inches too long so I have them folded which works. I chose "Carbon Navy" but wish "Carbon Green" were an option for being less colorful in forest settings.

High quality. Contouring could be improved. A mid waist pull string would be a great addition.

Nice jacket, but if you're wearing long sleeves, a bit rough to put on as liner extends down sleeves of jacket and catches on shirt.
