Lightweight, but warm--exactly what I was looking for. The sturdy metal zipper is an improvement over the competitors's coat I replaced, which had a plastic zipper that keeps unzipping from the bottom. Since it isn't overly "puffy", it looks stylish and sleek.

This coat is light weight yet warm. Great to layer over a sweatshirt. My teenage son loves it for his everyday use and for those occasional times that he needs to be outside for an extended period. We have invested in a lot of great LL Bean items and feel this was another great investment.

Your review * I was unaware of LL Bean until my son went to Bowdoin College in Maine, 35 years ago. As a New York City guy, I could not believe there was a major store, open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Well we tested this phenomenon. The staff in this store, at 2 AM was as helpful and knowledgeable as during the day. My other son forgot his sleeping bag for a visit to his brother. I cannot my love and respect for this store. I do have one complaint, the clothes, boots, etc. lasts forever and I don't get to shop more.
