This replaced my previous everyday winter coat. It is very nice, but does have a couple issues-- the arms seem to be right on the edge of being too short (I don't have this problem with any coats or shirts), and while it has one interior zipper, it would be nice to have another-- and the front pockets are small and shallow.... so you can not confidently put things like a phone or keys in them

Returned this coat. Did not like the snaps. Very difficult to engage and disengage. Concerned that outer layer of coat material would tear at the snaps with repeated use.

I have had this since 2018, and it is a perfect winter jacket for Boston. I wear it every time I commute into the city in the winter. Very warm and the pockets are functional. However, I do have a giant peeve with this jacket--its' hoodie is poorly attached to the rest of it, it has a tendency to unhook itself from the jacket and one of these days I am going to lose it. Apart from that problem, a great jacket!

I've had this jacket for a year and although being a fantastic jacket the hood snaps constantly unsnap. Every time I wear it despite not touching the hood, at least 3-4 snaps come undone.

This is a very nice jacket, warm and comfortable but it has a major design flaw. The hood is attached by 7 snaps and they pop open so easily it's ridiculous. Putting the jacket on, a couple pop open, putting up the hood, half the buttons pop off, it's so annoying that I can't recommend the jacket. If not for that issue it would be fantastic. Hopefully they will fix the design

The coat is very warm. Great for cold days. But the zipper is awful.

I purchased this coat two years ago and am very annoyed that the hood keeps falling off when used. The snaps are worthless. I contacted LL Bean about this problem and they didn't do anything! My wife ended up sewing the hood on to the coat. Bad design!

This is a very warm parka, but I'm giving it 3 stars because of its fatal flaw: the hood comes off way too easily. There should be a zipper to keep it on.

The zipper catches against the nylon outer layer when zipping up. There seems to be a design flaw.

Thick warm coat. Love it. One issue that bothers me soooo. There are 2 flaps for the hood. Theae flaps secure in a pocket with 2 yes 2 snaps AND velcro. I always assumed that it had this so you could take it out of the collar pocket and snap the ends together so you can use these flaps to cover your face. In harsh conditions. Nope! There is no way to do that. Why the heck have velcro and buttons! Oversight bad design!
Also why no big inside pocket for gloves - really LLB you can do better.

I really wanted to like this jacket, and I do like a lot about it, but it has some pretty significant issues with the pockets and hood from my perspective. The pockets are too shallow and too narrow to hold my phone securely. I have a Pixel 7... not the pro... so not even the big version. The pocket is too narrow for my phone to sit on its side in the bottom of the pocket, and when standing on it's edge the pocket is so shallow that my phone is constantly at risk of tipping out.
There are also a strange set of zippered pockets inside the exterior hand pockets. These are more secure, but are just too fiddly... especially with gloves on. An ideal solution would be to eliminate the zippered pockets and make the main pockets a bit wider and a couple of inches deeper.
I also have issues with the hood. Maybe it's my small head... But it's constantly in my eyes making it difficult to see. I can wear a hat with a visor, but it seems like it should work better on its own.
I also don't like the cuffs. There's nothing particularly wrong with the existing cuffs. However, I do find it much harder than my other jackets to get these cuffs over my glove/mitten cuffs. More elastic in the cuff so that it can get a little bigger would likely solve this for me.
So... I don't think this jacket is for me, but it is a very nice jacket, that fits well, and is a great price. If these other things don't bother you it could be a win.

It was a gift and was too small, it will need to be returned.

This Jack needs Velcro sleeve enclosures. The snaps are out. They don't provide enough versatility and the snugness you need

I bought this last November and really wanted to like it, but eventually ended up returning it. I originally ordered size medium and forgot that LL Bean jackets run large. At 5'11 180 lb, the sleeves were near my finger tips and there was a ton of extra space in the midsection (enough to fit at least a basketball or two). I sized down to a small and it fit much better everywhere except the shoulders, which were tight enough that putting it on was a hassle. Provided, I do have broad shoulders relative to my body. This was a shame since it was very warm in freezing weather and looked great. The only other issue I had is that the bottom zipper would get jammed sometimes when I unzipped enough to grab my phone/wallet.

Purchased one in January. I noticed a problem with the zipper. Zipping up was no problem, however, once zipped, zipping up from the bottom resulted in frequent jambs. The inside fabric was rolling into the zipper mechanism. So I returned it for another.same issue. It must be a design flaw. Haven't decided whether to keep it and deal with the zipper issue, or return it for another. I like the parka, but since it's a long parka, zipping up from the bottom is important when riding in a car, etc.

Pockets need to be deeper. Jacket needs more pocket space on the outside and maybe one or two pockets inside the jacket.
I'm really surprised that this company would not anticipate simple standard items in their clothing.
Jacket is very warm, but the lack of deep pockets makes it quite frustrating when you go to put your gloves and hat away.

It's basically a shell with a little extra fluff inside. It's a nice looking coat, fits well, but I thought I was ordering something warm. I already have a lightweight coat. I run cold so need some extra insulation for winter morning walks / hikes and this won't cut it. This coat would be good from about 30 to 45 degrees, not teens and 20s. When I hear "parka" I think winter protection but this isn't that. It's not bad, it's just not a serious cold weather coat.

Nice looking coat, but definitely runs small in chest area. Bought 2, one for son and one for his dad. Both always take a XL. Not this time....have to return both.....very disappointed especially since neither person is overweight.....one is skinny.

Everything was good except it is too difficult for me to put on. The lining sticks to my body when it needs to slide over my back.
Looks good, and is warm, however it could be larger in the waist

Bought this for my husband, didn't fit too well, don't know what it was but it was nit a comfortable look. We returned it, but also took long time to get refunded.
Not like old LLBean.

I love Bean products, but for a tall, thin, elderly woman, it is not at all warm enough. I was barely warm wearing 2 base layers at 41 F. I think the cold ratings on such items could carry a caveat.

I like the look of this parka, but it simply didn't feel tough enough for what I needed it for. While warm, the shell does not seem like it would stand up to much. I returned it and bought the utility parka.
