This base layer is pretty thick, definitely heavyweight, and it's warm and comfortable. The thumbholes in the sleeves are a nice touch, too.

Very warm for the weight of the shirt. The puil-over construction is the best choice for keeping warm on a cold day.

Very comfortable, inner lining is a very, very soft fabric which is a nice touch for base layer. I wear it out and about on chilly days as a 'stand alone' Definitely recommend!

The pullover fit and quality are excellent and it is much warmer than I had thought which is very nice as the weather turned colder.

Perfect fit, used for base layer outdoor early morning winter walks, thumb holes keep sleeves in place, zipped collar adds extra warmth in cold weather.

Great weight for the in-between seasons of winter to spring & fall to winter. I wear it as a top layer with a tee shirt underneath. I purchased a large and I am 6' and 180 lb.s. Fits perfect.

I love this heavyweight base layer top. It is exactly what I was looking for in such a garment. It is warm and fits like a second skin without being tight. The 1/4 zip style allows me to cool off if I get too warm, and the length keeps my back from being exposed to cold weather. My only regret is that the 1/4 zip style does not come in women's sizes, and after many tries, I finally found that a men's medium fit me the best.

Great Layer. Comfortable, looks good, and can be worn as a layer under or on top. Looks good enough to wear anywhere as a top layer. I ordered 2 more.

I've only used them 1 time so not a lot of experiences yet in different temperatures . That should change soon though. I can speak on the quality as it is superb compared to other brands.

Lightweight but warm. Best for me in 40-50 degree weather. Need an additional jacket if colder.

Looks sharp. You could wear this as a casual sweater to the office or out on the town and look casual nice. Fitted. Comfortable. Tonight, very frigid and I wore my L.L. Bean heavyweight base layer crew and then this, the heavyweight base layer 1/4 zip over it. Then I put my soft shell (different brand) over the top. Along with my balaclava and fleece hat over the top of that on my head, my fleece gloves, thick socks and sherpa-lined sweats, I was as warm as can be. Not cold in the slightest. Took me decades to finally feel warm in winter temps. By wearing the L.L. Bean base layers (crew and 1/4 zip over each other), I didn't have to wear a bulkier fleece jacket underneath my soft shell. Sweet. Was easier to get my soft shell on too.

Since I discovered L.L.Bean maybe in the fall of 2002, this was my third time ordering the same product and they were just a little different each time. This one fits great and layers easily. To me it feels like a lightweight softshell jacket, more than a thermal undershirt and I like that a lot. The previous one is still a great garment, but the static cling is out of control and I'm not sure why. The first generation that I bought was almost as good as the third, but also had a zippered chest pocket and I miss that. Luckily, I bought two of them, one in black and the other in a really cool shade of blue. I only have one each of the others, so that's a total of four and I still wear them all. The oldest ones still look much the same as they did when they were new and they've all been washed many many times. I don't remember what year that was, maybe 2015. They don't stain, wrinkle shrink or stink. I'm going to see if I can order some more right now.

Have worn over a merino wool undershirt as as part of a layering system on extremely cold and not so cold days. Kept me warm and dry, but not hot. Great fit. Fits close to the body with plenty of stretch.

Fitted, comfortable and, most importantly, warm! Wore the top during the recent blustery snow and ice storm sweeping thru my area. Very pleased with the heat retention. Fits a tad big, but likely because I'm used to compression base layers, which this is not. Overall, VERY pleased.

Wonderful product. Comfortable, keeps one warm. It is a snug fit, too snug for me. I returned my original purchase for one size larger. Now I can use it as a base layer, or as on outer later on top of a t-shirt. It's terrific.
