This is review is for all the haters bashing the color scheme of the LP7. Why don't you review a shoe on how it fits and performs and give your opinion on how it lives up to its claims! My eyes work!

I'm glad I bought the 6's on sale. Colors on the 7 are pretty bad - can't believe they passed review.

I rarely leave product reviews, but given the quality of this shoe I HAD to leave a review for this product. This shoe is extremely comfortable and my feet feel very well supported as I run out on the trails. I have wider feet and always have trouble finding a shoe that fits them well. This one is PERFECT. I'm typically a size 13 in running shoes and was able to stick with that size given the wider toe box.

I bought this shoe as my Olympus 5s fell apart in truly record time. These seem to be more robustly made - the upper is a sturdier material, and the solid outsole is obviously stronger. I've worn them now for a couple of weeks. They are quite narrow. It is confusing because they are advertised as being the "original" foot shape, but in the toe box, they are ~20mm narrower than the Olympus 5s of the same size (also advertised as an "original" foot shape". They are even narrower in the toe box than some of my other normal running shoes (Newtons). It honestly doesn't make sense, given that the whole Altra brand is built around a roomy toebox. Yesterday I started getting sharp foot pain consistent with running with squeezed forefoot. I may return them and get a wide, but don't like the only color that the wide is offered in. Seems like a good shoe if you have a narrow foot. Marketing it as a roomy option seems misleading.

Got these shoes two days ago. Took them out for their maiden voyage on a trail that I hike often. On the left shoe the rubber on the toe for protecting the toes is already delaminated from the fabric of the upper. It is almost as if it was never correctly attached to the shoe. Needless to say this is incredibly disappointing for a premium trail runner. I love the zero drop design and the good traction but REALLY, one short hike (less than 8km) should not cause the shoe to fall apart.

Purchased these shoes in March 2023 (owned for two months). I wear them three to four times a week casually. They are comfortable but after a short time they are already coming apart. I contacted Altra for a warranty claim and even though the retailer is listed on their website as a purchase location, they are saying it was not an "Authorized Dealer" and therefore they will not do anything. Seems petty to list locations on their website which sell their shoes but they won't back up their product from these locations when there is a defect. For the price, pretty disappointing!

Two trails in these and the toe guard seam is peeling away from the shoe. I have only put a little over 14 miles on these and they are starting to fall apart. Purchase at your own risk!

I run in these- roads and trails. Both shoes separated at the ball of my foot. The exact thing happened on my Timp 2's. When I reached out to Altria they strung me along having me submit more pictures and information after following the warranty instructions on the website then refused to offer a replacement or even discount on a replacement. Very disappointed- I miss human beings. It felt like all of the replies were written by a robot as they never addressed my questions, just let me know I was wrong to ask.

Third pair of Altras here and the best by far. Preciously felt like the LPs came up short on fit, stability, and control. These definitely hug the middle of my foot, keeping them in place, and allowing my toes to move freely -without crashing into the front on the shoe on steep descents. Finally, a foot-shaped shoe that grips and rips!

We have a few pairs of Lone Peaks, they don't last more than 100 miles and I love the shoes, but don't recommend anyone buy them due to low use failures. Specifically the back of the heel will wear through and cut your leg, even with light use. Poor customer service.

Wearing first pair of Altra Lone Peak. I have a wide foot with high arch, so that fact eliminates 95 % of sneaker companies. Love the wide ,rounded toe box. They are extremely comfortable.

Wore the Lone Peak 7 for about a week now around town and through trails (wet and dry) (roughly 100-150 miles) *Tested shoes were provided at no charge thanks to Altra for review purposes. First thing I noticed is they're pretty lightweight and flexible, the outsole compound is soft and tacky, putting them on they're pretty plush and comfortable right out of the box also didn't notice any rubbing or hotspots through the trial, there wasn't much of a heel cup though and thought that area could use the most work as I had to tie them fairly snug, when tied tight did keep my foot from sliding, the toe box was pretty roomy if you're looking for that although not excessively so. No spring and very minimal in feel, I don't think these have a plate as the sole was very soft and flexible yet protective enough where stepping on rocks etc was not painful, fatiguing though when wearing or walking on hard surfaces for a while. The traction was very good on all surfaces tested and held very well on muddy slopes and all conditions I put them through, seems to be water resistant although there's a vent on top and foot got wet walking through wet grasses, the only surface I didn't get to try that I wanted to was wet rocks but they did grip the wet road very well. Overall construction of the shoe seems well done. Great ground feel, slightly sloppy, overall lightweight and comfy, would've liked a bit more spring for the ride although not a huge deal if you use them mostly for trail, needs a snug heel cup and the roominess of the toe box could be reduced a little, I think those things would greatly improve the fit and ride.

Overall I liked these shoes a lot. When I opened the box I was first struck with just how funky they look like in person, it's a bold design, but not bad. I was also a bit surprised that they were a tad bit big on me. I'm a size 10.5 to 11 depending on the brand and shoe but never anything less than that so I got the 10.5 size and they were a little big (but still wearable). Width wise they feel good though. They are very comfortable are very pleasant to wear and I'm glad I got them. They have an interesting shape that's not visibly noticeable but as you move your weight from the heal to the ball of your foot it feels like it slightly springs your foot forward. I'm sure it's intentional and makes for easier running. Would recommend these.

The mid section of the shoe has arches that will dig into most EE or wider feet. I even bought a .5 up. They just pinch in all the wrong places. Almost amazing. But the plastic risers ruin it. Wider!

I've worn the lone peak for years, but may have to jump ship. I wear them as a daily shoe as well. Why fewer options in wide? And the colors are really getting ugly. You're making it tougher.

Provided photographs: LP5W vs LP7W sizes 11-1/2 men's( + and LP7 regular with size 12 ) the widest or with of the forefoot area, is not anatomically, oblique-toebox or ergonomically, model #~7 is not wider , direct overview comparison of the model five wider , there is a very extremely small marginal differences between the Wides and "the regular seven-LP7. so I did not make the purchase however, I did order the LP7 hiker to give to my son. Purchased$ the Be~Lenka ranger 2, very difficult to get in the US.(I am hoping someone goes back to Engineering, quality control and design). So the Altra Lone Peak Hiker 2, doesn't follow the same fate as the ill~fitted Tushar Boots.

Fantastic toebox for wider feet, similar to Keen. The color that looks like teal on the website is much more straight green in person, which is a little disappointing.

I bought these for my boyfriend who needs extra width and length, but typically has to size up and buy size 11 shoes to get it--even though he's a size 10.5. I bought these for his long clinic days and he loves them so much I bought another pair in the Taupe color for everyday wear.

Right out of the box these were super comfortable for my messed up feet. This is my first pair of Altras. I will bump up a 1/2 size for more rigorous hikes because I use some thicker socks. Really impressed right from the start.

Fit exactly as expected - true to size. Wide toe box gives ample amount of room without my feet swimming around. Arch support is good for high arch. Comfortable right out of the box.

I love these! I've had several earlier versions of this same model, and this one is improved in every way! Light weight, just the right amount of cushion, and they are waterproof. I also like this color better than the past models.
I'd also recommend:
Salomon, Birkenstock, Olukai
