I got these to replace my 3 year old Sigma SL pants, which were my absolute favorite pants but are no longer offered. Arc'teryx quickly warranted them due to the stitching blowing out (Cheers!). These pants have less stretch, are much more breathable, and have a slightly more baggy/boxy fit. Just took my dog for a quick bike ride in a cold drizzle and stayed dry but was pretty chilly. These are likely best for a warm weather hike. I would hate to get caught in a cold downpour in the backcountry. Overall, nothing impresses about these considering the price.

Iove these pants; slim fit with narrow legs, breathes well, while stopping wind, smooth fabric texture against the skin. They are even better than my former favorite the out of production Palisade Pant (same fabric, but wider legs). I really hope Arcteryx will continue to make the Gamma Quick dry pants (currently only black color and empty stock)!

I don't often review, but these pants are absolutely superb. True to their name, they dry quickly. The pockets all comfortably carry items, effectively dump heat, and lay nice and flat when zipper or unzipped. They have a bit of stretch with no rub points when trekking. My new favorite pants for all around use. We just need more colors.

The pocket placements and the smaller internal phone pouch is great. Legs are slimmer as mentioned but not an issue for me as previous versions were a bit baggy around the ankles. Only negative is the color options. I got the baby blue and they look a bit like medical pants.

Quality and design as good as ever, really light weight and comfortable, the legs could maybe be slight wider, but only so that shoes don't look so big, but doesn't spoil the trouser

I bought these with warm weather hiking and climbing in mind as I wanted something super breathable and lightweight that wouldn't restrict movement. These trouser didn't disappoint! I really like the dual thigh pockets which double up as additional ventilation (have mesh liners). The thigh pocket also comes with a stretchy pocket, perfect for a phone to stop in from sliding around. Overall a fantastic trouser (and they really do dry quickly!).

Love these pants! Lightweight, comfortable, fit and look great! I would like to buy more for travel this winter to hot destinations. When will more be in stock (especially light colors like void and canvas)?

Go to pants for long distance hiking. This season hiked 565 mi. PCT-(SoCal) Campo to Tehachapi and 695 mi. AT - Duncannon, PA to Zealand Hut, WMNF, NH. Durability, flexibility and comfort level extremely high. Endured multiple egregious downpours on AT. Quick dry is for real. Product availability is hit or miss. The Notify Me remedy suggested by Arc'Teryx is inconvenient especially if you're on trail. Take my money, let me order in advance!

My second favorite light arcteryx pants! I personally prefer the lefroy over these, but since they are discontinued these make a nice pair of pants as well. I like the pocket layout more on the lefroy, but these are also a well designed piece. At first I was unsure of the integrated belt, but after using it I have found it quite convenient. The material is definitely quick to dry and quite thin but it doesn't feel cheap or overly fragile, that said my use case is hiking and camping so maybe in more abrasive uses that might be a factor.

Gamma's have been an essential item that accompanied me through countless hikes and climbs. The Gamma Quick Dry simply added even more versatility to the Gamma series.
- Unexpected weather? As the name implies, if you get caught by rain, or simply traverse wet terrain.. worry no more about drying times! This Gamma pant can dry quicker then the variants ( Gamma Pant or Gamma Lightweight)
- Hot climate? This pant comes with two leg pockets that can act as vents
- Snacks, phone, GPS, map? If you need a place to put it, these pants have 5 pockets to cover your storage needs
Gamma pants have always been one of the most reliable pieces of Arc'teryx gear that I own. I have 15+ pairs of Gamma pants bought over the past 8 years and I can strongly recommend its variant the Quick Dry

I have an older version of these pants, when they were called the Palisade pants (and featured a plastic belt buckle and one less pocket). Those two changes aside, the current Gamma Quick Dry pants are essentially identical and most importantly feature the same amazing Terra-Tex fabric. That fabric is the key to what makes these my preferred 3-season hiking pants, and why I would recommend these over the Gamma LT pant to anyone looking for a 3-season pant that spends the majority of their time outdoors NOT climbing. Terra-Tex is super thin, breathable and quick-drying, yet also surprisingly durable and abrasion resistant. My pants are over 5 years old and I've yet to put a single hole in them. My uses primarily are for hiking and backpacking, and in a pinch I've used these for scrambling and climbing. During all of these activities I've been comfortable, felt no restrictions in movement, and was nicely protected from bugs/scrapes. The last thing I will mention is these pants are incredibly versatile when paired with a pair of leggings (synthetic or merino, take your pick) and waterproof shell pants. I would estimate I could tackle 90% of my outdoor pursuits with this system year round.

I bought these pants specifically for hiking. However, these have become a great all around pant that I just seem to wear everywhere. I love'em.

I have several pairs of last years version. Wanted more for travelling, different colours this year. Easy to wash in the shower and drip dry in no time, the pocket on the quad is perfect for passport / phone . The integrated belt is perfect.
Keep you cool in hot humid countries.
This years model is a slimmer cut on the calves , and I have big calves. Fingers crossed they bag up with use . I wish arcteryx kept the same cut as last year

I really like these pants. Great fitting however i had to size up. I'm usually a 32 but had to size up to 34. The short length is the way to go. The quickdry has more pockets than the LT and a slimmer fit! it's light and breathable.
I find the quickdry is noisier than it's LT version. LT is stretchier than the quickdry.
I have both LT & quickdry in black however they have different black tones.

I've had the pants for a few weeks and have worn them on a handful of hikes. They are amazing! light fabric with smartly located pockets and a built-in belt make these pants perfect for hiking.

Great pants for summer hot days for any activity, hiking, traveling, even to go out. They look great and feels great.
One minus is that difference between 34R and 34S is weird , 34R little bit long and 34S little bit short . The bottom of the pants is not that easy to alter:)
Definitely recommend this product. My husband is very happy

Bought this for hiking in Arizona; wanted a long pants option instead of shorts even though I'm in the desert. These fit the bill and thus far seem very tough despite the light weight breathability.

The Gamma Quick dry runs slim. I'm 5'10" 155. 34 waist. I went with a 36" Short because I like a little room to breathe. They are a bit loose in the waist but excellent everywhere else. The Belt on all the Gamma lines is just terrible. Slips 100 times a day. The little Nub that supposedly keeps the loop part of the belt in place, need to be a millimeter or so longer. The angle needs to be aimed inwards too. Would do better with a over and through clasp with teeth on the one side like Patagonia's Tech Web for example. Obviously smaller and thinner but yeah. Belt sucks! Otherwise awesome slim fit with wonderful feel. Get softer every wear.

Despite similar good looks, the Quick Dry pant and Gamma SL pant are not equal twins in performance. Purchasing online, I initially hesitated. Now that I own and tested both, I'll just highlight a few points that may speed your pick. If your priority is hot weather travel - planes, trains & automobiles - go Quick Dry. But if you need a pant that is going to support you in more gnarly self-propelled athletic pursuits (aka technical use, boulder to bistro in a place like BC) - choose the Gamma SL. Indeed, if I could only choose one pant I would opt for the Gamma SL. I find the extra stretch (extra elastane) really can add a real world difference. When I lift my knee in the Q. Dry I feel pant leg resistance. In the Gam SL - no limitation. Having said that, if your priority is less kinetic, tilts more to office / commute/ travel ( or the fit, etc. just works for you), you might well prefer the QDry. Horses for courses. Personally, I'm not returning my Quick Dry. Those extra mesh-lined pockets on the Quick Dry can be handy and as another mentioned they do double as venting options for what is already a breathable pant. For example, if you are already familiar with the well-proven Gamma LT pants aimed at cooler weather, you will immediately appreciate what the Quick Dry and Gamma SL each contribute to warmer weather comfort where shorts aren't an option. Any other competition for the Quick Dry pants ? I confess my closet holds some solid cheaper contenders, too. However, I've found the tailored versatility of the Arcteryx Gamma line means dollars spent on Arcteryx gear tend to translate into less down time sitting on a closet hanger - and more quality time in the big beyond. May this note help speed you on.

Had the Gamma QD for about a year now and it's still my favorite pants during warmer weathers. I'm about 31 inch waist and about 5'8". I went with a 32S and had it hemmed. Fit is for me is relaxed. The leg opening measures 7 in. wide with little to no stretch. The feel is light and bit rough, almost like feeling paper. Packs down very well. They seem to shrink a little if you wash/dry, but loosen up when you wear it a few times. Not sure if I would go bushwhacking with these pants.
One annoyance is the cargo pocket. The cargo pocket is glued, not sewn. The glue has started to come off, so there is a small opening inside the cargo pocket. This happened only after a few months of wear so I can't use the cargo pocket anymore.
