Is not very warm, this is a good thing in So. Cal. It keeps me dry and allows me to work outside and stay dry

Looks great, feels like it will be a little cool to wear. Haven't worn it yet, this is Idaho, and weather for this jacket won't be around for about 3 months.

True to size

This lightweight water proof jacket looks very sharp. The color is shiny black. It fits well for either a short sleeve under it for warm days or can comfortably wear a sweatshirt on cooler days. The three zip pockets are great for storage space. Overall very satisfied with this purchase and recommend it.

Despite being my size the fit was disappointing

Wore it and the first day working out in the rain it soaked through within an hour. My sweatshirt underneath was soaked through around the shoulder and arm area. Working in Oregon where it rains a lot I need rain gear I can rely on and this is not it. I liked the color though.

I bought this jacket a couple weeks ago and wore it for the first time this morning. Here are my thoughts - 1. I have no worries at all about the quality. Carhartt has always made quality stuff. 2. In the rain, it did what it is supposed to do. 3. (And the reason for the 3 star instead of 5 star rating) - there is no moisture management - aka Pit Zips on this rain jacket. When I got home from walking the dog, the inside of of the jacket was as wet as the outside of the jacket. Being a hiker and scenic photographer, I need gear that keeps me protected, warm, and dry. I would definitely not wear this out in the elements while hiking to a location. This jacket would be good for more of a "stylish" wear. The functionality for outdoor active people is lacking.

Does the job and keep you dry. Could be a little bit more breathable but it is a generally good jacket and even better for the price. I am 5"11 and weigh 215lbs and it fits good.

DO NOT buy their lightweight Storm Defender jackets. It's "waterproof" for the first 5 minutes then starts to soak into the fabric. By the time you walk a good 20 minutes in the rain your clothes underneath are soaked. This is my second purchase of this type of rain jacket and both perform poorly. Also, be very careful when washing these jackets and wash them delicately. I had the entire inside polymer liner disintegrate from a normal washing cycle. When brought to Carhartts attention they were silent.. Save your money and buy an Orvis raincoat.

Lightweight and always stays dry, big fan

I worked construction my whole life so I know what carhartt is, i've worn more Carhartt gear than I'd like to admit to, but once you buy one, you have it for life if you wear a Carhartt jacket or hoodie out you're doing some job. As far as the rain gear I just got excellent product. Just retired to Florida, so dealing with Florida storms in the summertime, this is an excellent jacket can handle heavy rain, wind, and any storm Fla Is going to throw at you . I recommend 100%. PS AND I'M SURE I'LL NEVER HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THIS ONE WILL LAST.
