My son was so excited to get these sneakers. The black tread literally came off the shoe a few days later. He barely wore them. So disappointed.

We bought these for my son in February by March the bottom of the shoes unglued and they began falling apart. I wanted to like them because they're stylish but completely fell apart.

I was very disappointed in these because they felt awful on my feet. It was like wearing squishy paper. The quality in the material was missing.

These sneakers are complete garbage. My 9 year old wore them for 4 months and the sole is coming apart in multiple places. To make matters worse, Hoka believes this is considered "wear and tear". Right. My 9 year ran a couple of marathons in that 4 month period. Very disappointing.

I bought these for my daughter, and they are horrible quality. Less than two months from purchase and the tread is falling off the bottom of the shoe in strips exactly like it would if the glue was inadequate/not present. Sent them back and was told it was "normal wear and tear", less than two months in and apparently it normal for the tread to be coming off in fully intact strips. I guess they would be ok if you only expect them to last for a few weeks, otherwise not a good investment! Should have read the other reviews stating the same issues before wasting my money on these.

Bad quality

The quality on this these shoes is terrible !! We bought this shoe for my daughter and after just 3 months, whole chunks of the rubber tread / sole were coming off. Chatted with support and they advised to send the shoes in for warranty return. 1 month later (and having to pay the shipping ourselves), we get the shoes back with a letter that its out of warranty period. I chatted with support again and they said "out of warranty" simply means they denied the claim and there is no appeal since its a different department.

I ordered the kids size 4 since the woman's size 4 cost was much higher. The quality was the worst. Just because it's a child shoe Hoka thought they could make it extremely low quality. The fabric was like paper and the inside was hard as a rock.

Love hokas, but the youth versions are not up to the normal standards. Pair of youth Clifton 9s started falling apart within just 2-3 weeks, with rubber on bottom peeling off. We returned these under warranty and got the same pair again. Same thing...sole falling apart within a month. Didn't mess with the warranty again since you have to send them in and wait for a response. My kid thinks they are the most comfortable shoes he's owned, but also frustrated with the rubber just peeling off. I'm frustrated having paid a meaningful amount for what I thought would be a quality shoe. Stay away - they quality of the youth shoes is far different than the adult versions.

Very disappointed in the quality of this show, they are very comfortable and I was very excited to use them but after about 2 weeks of using them daily they started falling apart. I expect so much more for what I paid.

I bought these sneakers for my 9 year old son for school. He has been wearing them all of 2.5 months now and they are already falling apart. Mind you he only wears them to school..he has other old sneakers he wears to play after school and on weekends. I love my adult Hokas and would recommend them to anyone, the kids not so much. One would think that for the amount of money we paid for these sneakers they would have lasted him the school year and beyond.

Shoe too big for a 7 was more like a 9 on me

My husband got our girl these shoes as quick end-of-school-year shoes she could use over the summer. Week 1, they were done. As a Hoka lover, I was shocked to see they so quickly deteriorated, even with my low-activity-level child. She has never worn down a shoe before. Indeed, it was just a cheaply made shoe, as I discovered. Over the summer, we forced the kiddos to get outside. Since the shoes were already bad, I told her to put those on, which was a big mistake. On the first fishing trip at our local dam, a huge glass piece went through the bottom of the foam as we walked into our fishing spot. It was a scary moment since the glass poked through the shoe into the bottom of her skin. I sent these back to Hoka not just because I want my money back but so they can see how dangerous it is to give kids such a light foam that any object can poke through. They need to find a balance between soft, airy, and safety, especially when making shoes for kids.

Buyer beware. These shoes run very large. My son wears 5.5 in NewBalance. Using Hoka's program to determine what size would fit my son, I ordered size 5.5 Hokas. They are 1.5 inches bigger than the New Balance even taking into account the added size of the sole. They are larger than my size 7 women's Hokas. We leave on vacation in two weeks, but I was told the exchange would not be processed for 10 days and shipping would be after processing so more than two weeks to receive a replacement pair. Instead, they suggested ordering a new pair (pay another $110+) and then simply return the original pair. Fine. Then I realized they were going to charge me for shipping on the new pair even though original shipping was free and exchange shipping is free. I asked if they would waive the shipping and they refused. So the advertised easy free shipping and returns is false. You either have to wait approximately 18 days or shell out more money and only receive a portion back since you will now pay for shipping on a new order.

I bought a second pair of this Hoka shoe thinking that my kid didn't use it properly. They are kids. They run, play basketball, outside, at the gym, etc. The sole of the first pair of shoes completely detached. Hoka made it difficult for me to return them. The second pair, although thinking we would use it for walkting and running, had the same problem. Good shoe for walking outside, bad shoe for multi-sports.

We purchased the Clifton's for my son, as he loves Hoka's. These literally fell apart after a month. The bonding has gave way on the right sneaker and I know it's a matter of time before the left shoe does the same. Every time I have attempted to contact Hoka to make a claim, the chat points me to FAQs, the Customer Service line goes in circles and never connects me to an agent. The system finally sent me a link to start the claim and then I received an error message that the claims site is down and to check back in a couple hours. This would be okay if it happened once or twice, but this error message has popped up at least 5 times in the past three days. I am quite frustrated as the original retailer, who is a partner with Hoka refuses to return or exchange and the process documented by Hoka is just not working as designed! I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because my son needs sneakers to wear, but I don't want to be out more money because Hoka is failing to deliver. As a consumer it's just not fair!

Surprisingly, these shows fell apart within a month of Purchasing them. Clearly the children's shoes aren't as well made as the adult shoes. Very disappointed.

The quality of the glue used for the sole elements and toe protection leaves much to be desired. After a week of wearing them only to school, the defects were already visible, and by the end of the month it got much worse. The toe guard and sole elements peeled off in different places, and the black paint on the sole began to rub off.
