Very comfortable and supportive clay court shoe. I also like the unique tensioning lacing system.

This is my third pair of GEL-RES 9's, but first clay model. I don't find the clay sole any impediment to playing hard court. I does let me slide a tiny bit, but that's simply fun. I find the stability of this shoe a level above every one of the other 3 Asics non-Res shoes I own and would stack it up against any other manufacturers tennis shoes of any type, but certainly the stability type. The only down side is the weight. You can't have this kind of stability without some additional weight. I don't notice it at all until I wear one the lighter Asics shoes I own, and then go back to the RES 9. The adjustment is only a few minutes of playing time though. The other potential downside, and this is well documented by reviewers, is the narrow fit, especially in the toe box. A little uncomfortable at first, but once broken in, they are really cozy, however they are a bit warm. Even with these factors, doesn't change the verdict. Best shoe. Full stop.

Great show for Clay courts fits perfectly firm on the ground and around the ankles I consider it the best show for clay when your beginner or intermediate or advanced

I received the Asics Gel Resolution 9 for Christmas. I am a 65 yoa male who plays Tennis 3 days a week and usually wear the New Balance 868 on the court. The Asics look and feel great but unfortunately even though they are a Wide (EE) they still feel narrow. I tried them one day hitting against the machine for about an hour and they felt a little snug but all right. Hopefully they will stretch a bit.

Very stable and comfortable. These perform well on clay giving good grip and mobility for an active player.

Very comfortable shoe with adequate room in toebox. I chose the clay version. They play great.

The looks are beautiful, but not very comfortable. The exterior material is not soft, so when you flex the foot the fold presses towards your skin.
