These Clifton 9 are supposed to be more plush, they are painful to stand in .Walking feels like I'm wearing wedges which I don't like ,it does prevent me from walking on the outsides of my feet but the bottom of my heels ache. I've had these for about two and a half weeks wearing them every day. Also they are not attractive shoes. I'm very disappointed and would not buy these again For reference I'm 5'6 about 210lb Please hurry and restock the black/ black Clifton 8

I bought my first pair of Hokas on the recommendation of my foot surgeon who highly recommended Hokas. I have totally enjoyed the Clifton 8. I prefer the sole and the more slender appearance. I find the Clifton 9 more wide in the toe box and the sole is more like the Bondi sole.

I have the Clifton 8's and 9's and I think they are both fantastic. I love the extra cushioning in the 9. For me, they fit very similarly to the 8. I loved the 9's so much that I bought them in several colors.

Bought the Clifton 9 a couple of weeks ago. Very comfortable and fit true to size, so last week I bought a second pair. I really didn't like the Clifton 8. It was never as comfortable as my Clifton 7s. Seems the odd years work best for me. Clifton 6 was terrible, but the 5s were great.

Fast shipping and great customer service. If you are looking for a B7 replacement, this isn't it. I have tried the B8 and did not like them. I have a plate and 8 screws in ankle from motorcycle accident from 1998 and the B7 was like walking on clouds. The Clifton 9 is wearable and more comfortable than B8. Bring back the BONDI 7 PLEASE!!!

Years ago bought my first pair, the Clifton 6. Loved them and finally found the perfect shoe for me. Bought a new pair or 2 each year ever since and fit has always been just right. I immediately noticed this years fit is a little different, not as plush in the sole, and just a tighter around the top and sides. I compared it to my extra brand new pair of Clifton 8s that I still haven't worn yet (they are still in their box in my closet as a backup pair that I'm not as crazy about the color). Sure enough, the 9 fit is different and not as comfortable. I will still keep the 9s because I like the blue and purple and it's just a slight difference but I will be switching and using the 8s instead and using the 9s as my backup. Most people will still like the shoe (it's still a great shoe) but if you have been wearing them for years you will notice the difference. Best to try on rather than just order another pair this year.

I have worn the Clifton 7 and the Mach 5 for the last year -- both were supremely comfortable. The Clifton 9 is a different bird. Not nearly as smooshy as the 7, and it feels more structured (not in a good way), somewhat elevated and more like walking on a brick than a cloud. Also doesn't compare to the Mach 5, which isn't as could-like, but still supremely comfortable as a walking and workout shoe. I use them mainly for power walking on the treadmill and walking around the neighborhood -- a total of about 3.5 miles per day. I am returning my Clifton 9s --I tried to break them in by wearing for 2 days, but it just didn't work.

I own the last 2 versions of this sneaker for running and I purchased the same size and it feels slightly shorter in length. I am usually a size 10 in these sneakers and 10.5 in most other running shoes. I will exchange for a half size larger and review again. I agree it does feel more firm than previous versions and they continue to run on the narrow side. Still one of my favorites so hopefully they're better with the larger size.

This was my second pair of Hokas. The first pair was the most comfortable shoe I have ever bought. This shoe looked good and mostly felt good except for the front of my ankles. I felt pressure there. I tried loosening the laces but it didn't see to help. So I am sadly returning them.

Very similar to the last model in my opinion. The white color is super cute. Runs a little bigger than the clifton 8's so I'd suggest sizing 1/2 size down.

These run big for me…big as is long, not wide. I normally wear an 8 in all Hokas, preferably a wide since my foot is wide (only at the toes/forefoot). I had to exchange the 8 wide for a 7.5 wide. Sizing aside, this shoe is almost perfect. It’s nice and cushy, yet supportive. My one complaint is the heel counter/collar…it’s a bit too high, molded, and rigid. It’s what I’d describe as overdone. If you run or walk long distances, it can cause some hot spots. My guess is that it will break in over time. Otherwise, I love it!

To compare the Clifton 8 to the 9, these new 9's are a little bit wider in the toe box a tiny bit longer. Much more cushy in the heel. They feel excellent on my feet (heel spurs, severe toe arthritis). I am not a runner, I'm a walker, and these are perfect for my daily walks and all baking marathons in my kitchen.

They arrived today. The color is great (eggnog and sand) the toe box is very wide compared to the last few versions. I also really feel the arch support in these compared to my 8's (I have very high arches) . Still running long for the third version in a row but not long enough to size down- I want to keep my toenails ;) I only size up 1/2 a size in hokas compared to a full size in other brands. Like with every version it's an adjustment at first, but you get used to it.

I have been a long time Hoka and Clifton wearer and I wasn't a fan of the 8's at all (fabric and fit). While the 9's aren't like the 7's (my favorite) they fit well! I have been running in Hoka's since 2011.

It rotated my foot inward, and I think that has caused issues for my hips. It could be the sneaker, it could be me. Hard to know. But the soft inward roll it causes is not best for my frame. Very cushy though!

I use these as my treadmill running shoes. I have had them for a year and a half and they’re coming apart. Not a lot of wear anywhere else but the treads are coming off as shown in the pic. Really loved these but think they should’ve held up longer being as I only used them on my treadmill :(

Loved the look and feel of them, super comfortable, but they didn’t even last a year before the sole started coming apart at the bottom, and I’m not an athlete or someone who is hard on their shoes.

I’m very disappointed in this sneaker. I’ve had other Hoka’s, but after just 8 months, the other day I thought something was stuck on the bottom of my shoes. Turns out it was part of the rubber sole peeling away. I have NEVER had this kind of failure with any sneakers I’ve ever worn, often over a much longer period of time. Extremely disappointed and frustrated by this.

These were my favorite pair of tennis shoes I have had. I am a nurse working 12 hour shifts and my feet and legs felt great in them. The problem is they have lasted only 6 months and now my feet start aching at beginning of shift. Don't think a $150 pair of shoes should wear out so quickly with just walking.

I've had these sneakers for almost a year now, and I have been unable to sufficiently break them in. After a run, my feet are sore like I'm still running in new shoes. They are still quite stiff and not like the Hoka Clifton 7s I still use for walking since these Clifton 9s are so uncomfortable.

I bought 2 of the exact same pair and I love the comfort, but they wear out SO fast. For the price, I won't buy them a 3rd time so I'm currently in the market for something as comfortable, but that has a better sole so that they don't wear out in 3-4 months of walking.

I have purchased several pairs of these shoes. The last two pair have come apart on the sole. Not hard use, mostly treadmill, and not a lot of miles.
