The heel and foot support are good. However, when I tie my shoes as usual, I like them snug, but not too tight, the part of the shoe that goes around the ankle is uncomfortable. I have never had that discomfort with any other shoe, so I'm sure it is a design issue. I would think that another style of HOKA shoe would most likely fit more comfortably. But, since this is my first pair of HOKA's I have no idea what other kind of style to try.

The product is great, it's comfortable and the design is great, but the fabric and material overall especially on the exterior makes it so easy to get dirty. It got dirty the same day I got it from car door or just dust on the edges. It's definitely something to wear indoors if you get a light color, but will still get dirty very easy.

I need to exchange them for a wide. I ordered another pair in wide and they feel so much better. I am going to call tomorrow and start the process if it is not to late! I broke my toe a month ago and the regular hurts my toe.

I ordered this shoe in a wide & unfortunately is was still really tight around the ball of my feet and slightly tight around my toes in regard to width; the toe height was fine. If I were to order a size up the shoe would be too large and not fit properly at all. Had it fit my foot better, I would have kept them because they were otherwise comfortable shoes. After receiving my refund for return I plan on trying a different model that has claimed to work better for wide feet. We shall see

I got this sneakers after looking for the best running shoes for people with knee problems and I think they really are. I have been wearing them at the gym at least 3-4 times a week for the past 3 weeks. I'm satisfied so far with the quality and comfort. The cushion is great and I feel my knees protected. I would buy again and recommend it for running

I love these shoes and will recommend them to anyone in the market for a comfortable and great quality shoe. I deducted one star on the rating because I wear a wide and not being able to get a wide in the new and popular colors is frustrating. I tried sizing up thinking it would give me a little extra room but it didn't. If you need a wide be sure that's what you get.

I walk a few miles daily and my Hokas have never let me down. They fit perfectly, the arch support is just enough, they have enough cushion that I can wear them all day without getting tired.

This is my second pair of Clifton's and I am not happy. The sizing and fit is completely different. I have tried to return them online, but get an error message.

I like them in general but they are a bit narrower in the toe box than the Clifton 8.

Finally, this Clifton 9 is my long over due answered prayer. I have always been looking and buying for a walking shoe that will really fit for being flat footed and now with ortho arthritis in my knee. Nothing had lasted long enough giving me relief. I believe this Clifton 9 will last for a while, I hope (just had them for few weeks). I may have to buy another pair in order for this to last for a long time if I have to alternate them. They're very good for walking and I'm very happy with it.

I put on my Hoka Clifton 9's and wear them everyday now. I'm only concerned about the dark scuffs at the toe but I understand I can somehow wash them.

the purpose of those sneakers is to have a better walk, for my experiences with them definitely work

I have a Morton's Neuroma and like to walk as much as possible. The wide toe box makes these shoes very comfortable for me. I had the Clifton 8 in a 6.5 regular width and loved it. For the Clifton 9 I sized down to a 6 wide to achieve the same level of comfort.

I have two pairs of these in different colors. I have no more pain in my ankles when walking!

I like the cushion in the heal but They are a lot wider than I imagined. I feel like I am wearing clown shoes a bit. BUT as long as they help me stand at work with less back pain I will be happy. Will let you know!

My podiatrist recommended this sneaker, so I tried it. I was really surprised by how comfortable it is to wear, and makes walking more fun!

I've been looking at HOKA shoes for about 2 weeks and talking to people that I know that have bought them and loved them, so I took the plunge and bought the Clifton 9. There are good things about the shoe, very light, fit really well and seemed to make my heel spur feel better. The reason for the return is they creak and squeak so loudly! Didn't matter what type of floor I was walking on, they make so much noise. Even not walking if I move my foot from heel to toe, they squeak! I'm hoping I just received a wonky pair. I'll return these and try again and hopefully the next pair I get won't make so much noise.

Had to return Clifton 9's, arch support too hard and uncomfortable. Switched to Mach 5 and they are perfect. I am a serious walker, not a runner.

Absolutely love the Clifton 9 would've put a 5 star but the heel is a bit too wide for me. The comfort and stability of the Clifton 9 is unmatched, it's an absolute lifestyle shoe that's great for lower back, knees and hip problems. Currently have 2 pairs PLEASE Hoka PLEASE make the women's in the Midnight Ocean color scheme the men's version has, I'd be the first person to purchase them!!!

I had foot surgery (bunion) and I purchased a size up and they are perfect! I ordered these in size wide and under the orthopedic category. Love them!

I love this shoe. It is light and definitely not as bulky as other styles. I got them in pink and blue and loved them so much that I bought a black pair for future use!
