Ok so not a lot of reviews on here comparing the two shoes, but from my experience, the Clifton 9 is very nicely cushioned but not early as squishy as the Nike Invincibles. I think if I were to move up in the Hoka cushioning levels to the Bondi (which I love wearing at work where I walk around a lot), that would be too clunky and squishy for my liking. I primarily use the Clifton for long road runs and b/c I'm really loving the colorway I purchased, I also use it on the treadmill for easy/moderate runs. For size comparison, in the Clifton 9 I wear an 8, for the Nike Invincibles a 9. The Clifton also has a slightly roomier feel so I think that would work better for those with wider or thicker feet :)

I bought the Clifton 9 almost 2 yrs ago. They had to be replaced twice due to the soles splitting and falling apart after 3-4 months. I work in a hospital and only walk on flat surfaces. I sit alot of the time. There should be no reason why the tread wears like that. I am now returning the THIRD pair due to the same issue after 3 1/2 months. The tread came unglued and they will 'evaluate' to see if I can get a replacement. They would NOT refund my money. Never again!!!

This shoe was worn 2 times a week in a clean environment. The glue failed on the bottom of the shoe, holding the bottom pads on. The company failed to do anything to resolve the issue. They claimed normal wear and tear, but they did not test the glue, fix them, or give reasoning for the declination of repair. We purchased 2 pairs, and the other was worn 3-4 days a week and didn't fail. Do not buy from them, they do back up their craftsmanship.

This is my third out of Cliftons, I wear them until they absolutely can't be worn anymore. My go to running shoes

I was so excited to finally have a pair of shoes that did not flair my plantar fasciitis. They were comfortable, came quickly and I was fully prepared to order a second pair. Two months later, the tread started coming loose. I did the warranty claim and was denied due to "normal wear and tear". After only 2 months!!! For the cost, I would have expected more for my money. Sad to say I will be looking elsewhere from now on.

I purchased this model online, but when it arrived, I found that there was too much wiggle room in the front part of the shoe, and the fit didn't feel quite right. I went to the store and exchanged them for another model (W Arahi 7), which feels like a better fit for the width of my feet.

An orthopedic surgeon recommended HOKA's to me when I went to him with unbearable foot pain feeling like surgery of some sort might be necessary. I purchased a couple of pairs of HOKA's and some HOKA recovery shoes for around the house & in the yard. I have NOT looked back. After working on my feet as an RN doing 12 hour shifts for over twenty-five years, my feet paid the tool. HOKA has made foot pain a thing of the past for me. I am able to walk a couple of miles every morning because of HOKA... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE KEEP the Clifton 9 in your design choices.

Literally the only shoes I wear 95% of the time. I have a pair for workouts, two pair for work and a pair for wandering around the house. Love these shoes and the color selection.

I have a pair of Hoka Bondi 8s that I bought 4 years ago that are starting to show their wear. So, Bean was having a sale but they were out of the Bondi 8 color and size I needed/wanted. I tried on the Clifton 9s and they fit well, not as cushy as the 8s but they are for a different training purpose anyway. I use them to cross train and run on the treadmill. They're comfortable and springy. But, I miss the Bondi 8s, they're more to my liking. However, this sneaker, the 9, is definitely a winner.

I bought these shoes around 6 months ago from a local store that sells Hokas and I don't put a lot of wear and tear on them I just wear them casually. Now the rubber part of the shoe on the bottom is falling off on both of the shoes. Very disappointing considering I have owned a few pairs of hokas and none of them have done this.

I wear these everyday to work and for my lunchtime walk. This brand was recommended to me by my podiatrist. This style helps by flat feet and I don't seem to have as much knee pain since I started wearing them. I have the Clifton 9 in four different colors. They are absolutely wonderful.

Bought these in August to help with recovery from a knee surgery I was having. Wore them a couple weeks before surgery then not again til 6 weeks after surgery and wore them several days a week while recovering yet hear it is only 4 months later and the bottom is peeling and now gets caught on things which I cannot risk falling after a delicate knee surgery. I'm really disappointed.

These are the perfect shoes for me, and I've tried a few different Hoka styles. I've liked them all. But love the Clifton 9's. I am 5'9, 150, size 7.5 running shoes. Decent competitive runner (1/2 marathons and training), and these have been great for my feet/knees/hips. These are my 3rd pair, and I try and only use them for running but it is hard because they are so comfortable, straight out of the box.

My daily do everything shoe. I wear them at work, to walk my dog, errands, ... I've tried other Hoka styles, Clifton 9 suits me best.

I put off buying Hoka's for a long time. I wasnt used to spending the extra money on tennis shoes because I ruin them so quickly being active with my dogs. However, I was never satisfied with the fit and feel of other shoes. I decided to take the plunge during the recent sale and I can tell you, there is no looking back. The way the Clifton 9 shoe hugs my feet and cushions every step is unmatched. Even compared to the Gravity Defy brand which I use for the gym, Hoka out performs 100% I usually wear a 10 in shoes but I had to exchange for a half size down. The exchange was so quick and I received my new size within a few days of my return. The exchange was simple and took very little effort to complete.

I have always worn Clifton's for running. I have never had an issue with them. The pair I just bought hit right at my ankle bone. When running it hits and causes a bruised feeling. I'm hoping it is just a fluke pair, because Clifton's are my favorite running shoe.

I'm 67 and will only run in Cliftons. Year after year, they are the best.

Love these and they match all of my workout clothes. Have gotten many compliments with the rose gold accents. I have plantar fasciitis and my doctor told me to work out in hokas and wear them all day. Seems to be helping! I usually wear a 7.5. I accidentally ordered 8's but they are working out fine!

I love walking in these shoes. Feels like you are walking in clouds. Makes me want to walk more. Less hip pain/joint pain. I sized down a half size. I possibly could do an 8 which would be a whole size. I may try the 8 next time. They have room on the width.

Working in a hospital, I am on my feet a lot of the day. These shoes are so comfortable and truly feels like I'm walking on air.
