After just a week of running in this shoe, there were multiple places on the tread where it had already started peeling off of the shoe. Not to mention that 2 entire chunks of rubber sole and tread had already broken off. Don't know if this was a defect of this certain pair of shoes or not. Returned and now waiting on the next pair to come in.

Shoes feel great but after just 2 weeks of light wear the shoes began to separate in certain areas. While the fit is great I wouldn't buy this again. Bad experience for first purchase.

The shoes are comfy and very supportive right out the box. A bit more snug than the old guard that I will be retiring - won't hesitate to be back for another pair and will recommend to anyone willing to listen to me preach!

I typically wear 11.5 in Hoka models without ever varying sizing. This was the first Hoka where I felt it was about 1/2 size too long.

An underappreciated benefit of the Hoka brand is that it helps you choose the right shoe model among its many offerings. I previously bought a h of Hoka Biondi's at the recommendation of a family member who swears by them. While comfortable and I liked them, they were not the correct shoe for my needs. In ordering a new pair, I ran across and completed the Hoka survey. It automatically recommended the Challenger ATR 7, the shoe(s) that fit my walking and trail hiking needs perfectly. The shoes are a comfortable fit and I love the attention-getting bright orange and blue colors.

I loved these shoes for about a week before returning them after the collar began rubbing my right ankle bone. Never had this problem before. Now I'm planning on using the return credit to get a pair of Hoka's with a lower collar and am hoping the Transport or Solimar will do. Any thoughts about if these others shoes will work, or if I should consider other Hoka's? I'm not a runner, but want an everyday shoe that is good for the city and walking trails.

My partner enjoys the comfort that these shoes bring as they are flat footed. Walking activities has increased which was the goal and while hiking another couple complimented the shoes and said that they wanted a new pair of Hokas'!

I like my Challenger 7s . I am very happy that I could get a wide shoe. That is not a common thing in a quality running shoe. It has a lot of cushion but without spongy rebound. I no longer run but I find these shoes perfect for workouts. The fit is excellent. I think they would be a great outdoor shoe.

Comfortable, especially great sole support and cushioning. I have wide feet and even the wide is slightly narrow in the toebox.

It took me about 3 weeks to get used to the pair of shoes - Challenger 7. I wish it was made 'waterproof'. Unfortunately, the waterproof version of Challenger 7 (GTX) has no wide size. Hope HOKA will soon introduce waterproof version in Challenger 7 or introduce wide in Challenger 7 GTX. This is the reason for giving a 4 star rating instead of 5

I run about 40 miles a week in them. Like the upper being mesh. They're more cushiony like the clifton. Still not a trail Clifton but pretty close. Tred is fine for me

Wanted a light weight but sturdy, non-GoreTex shoe for hiking. This wasn't it. I have wide feet with a hammer toe; these were wide enough but the toe box was just not tall enough for me.

I love HOKA shoes and I finally got it right. I wear a size 9 womens and ordered a mens size 7.5 Wide and I think they might even work without a wear spot on the other side of my largest bunion. Perfect for me and they are a dream to wear right of the box! Thank you!

The Challengers are my go-to shoes. The sizing is glove-like for my feet; just step in and go. Tread and grip are fantastic. Cushion is substantial yet with a firm feel.
