I love the all black hoka shoes, I own a few pairs of the speedgoat 5 shoes and other shoes, and I'm converted. I was looking for the same speedgoat 5 shoes in all black, which they don't have, only the GTX version. I don't need GTX, so I just ordered this pair thinking they would work for every day walking, business, work, etc., but I was in them for a few hours, and they are way too hot. I had to change back to my hokas that weren't hot. They were not GTX version. The fit was not great, but the other hoka shoes I wear fit much more comfortably. These don't feel comfortable like my others. I hope they get a speedgoat 5 in all black that is NON GTX, low-top like my other shoes. Others it appears have good experience here, so if it's comfortable for you, go for it. I just need good shoes for my back and feet with all my walking around.

You can find a better shoe for less money. Still, these look great and they fit fairly well. My biggest complaint is that they don't breathe at all. If you don't mind your feet being sweaty messes after a few hours of wear, then these are the shoes for you. Here's the thing: HOKA makes a great shoe. My wife swears by them, and it's all she buys now. Don't let me review dissuade you from exploring other options in the line.

I enjoyed the shoe. Nice water resistance technology. Good vibram outsoles. Bungee laces were good touch. Only true issue is narrow size. This would be a good pick for a lot of people if made in wide. Also great price point.

Too narrow. Sorry. Love the shoe but just had my foot crammed too much.

This is a good, not great, walking shoe, which is the reason I purchased it. conforms to foot well. It does not have the amount of cushion that I expected from HOKA, but is certainly functional.

Love the feel, good to run in, but two weeks in they are visually very worn. I'm not doing anything crazy in them, daily use. Cost just doesn't justify, not THAT much better than other shoes. Hard pass

For a 'walking' shoe, the fit is a bit tight and not as comfortable as one would think. I say stick with the Bondi or Clifton for comfort.

Sent mine back. This shoe would be perfect if it had as much arch support as Cliftons do. I recommend it to people who do not need much or any arch support. Feels very flat.

This is my first HOKA shoe outside of the Clifton line-up so I am mostly comparing the sizing/fit to those. At first try, the shoe is easy to put on and lace. I opted to keep the quick-cinch laces and love them. The mid foot region and toe-box is quite narrow compared to my Cliftons of the same shoe size. Hopefully they stretch some (2.5 weeks in, still tight but loosening some). I mainly got these since they are water-resistant. My walking commute to the hospital can be ugly depending on the weather and I never know what type of fluid might drop on my shoes in the hospital. The shoe is firm, but comfortable with all day use. I am on my feet all day and have not had issues with foot pain as some other reviewers say. The shoes are quick and responsive. The grip is ideal in the hospital. However, since they are water-resistant, my feet get quite hot and sweat to the point that the insole develops a very loud squeak with each step towards the end of each day. This only occurs after several hours of wearing them but is quite annoying almost embarrassing. I tried sprinkling powder under the insole as HOKA suggests, but this is only a temporary fix (1-2 days). I absolutely love the shoe for its look and function, but gave it 3 stars due to the narrow toe-box (-1) and the loud, embarrassing squeak at the end of then day (-1). This might be a product/material failure. I will keep the shoe despite everyone hearing me walking from a mile away at the end of each day. Hopefully HOKA can fix this issue in future models.

I was super excited about these as I wear them to work, and I am on my feet all day. They've been a big disappointment in the cushion that I am accustomed to from my other Hoka's and by the end of the day, my feet are begging to get out of these. I love the styling, and the easy lacing system, but they just aren't as comfy as I thought they'd be.

I have three pair of Hoka running/walking shoes, size 12 reg. Love them. These transport shoes same size, I could not get my foot in the shoe. To small. It felt almost they used European foot last in these vs. American foot last.

Nice shoe but it was too narrow for me. If there was wide sizing, I would have kept it but returned based on that fact it felt too tight.

First, I'm not a runner, unless I'm playing basketball, but I do enjoy wearing running shoes for work. I'm on my feet the majority of the day, sometimes standing for hours at a time as a surgeon. These shoes have the well-earned Hoka reputation of exceptional cushioning in the sole. They are fantastic for walking and standing. However, they are bulkier than I expected. The material is thicker and less well ventilated than I expected which makes it wear hotter than what I am used to in my other running shoes and doesn't have the sleeker look I usually prefer. Overall a good shoe, especially if looking for comfort over style or ventilation.

The shoes would be great if they were just a little bit wider. I returned mine since they were too narrow. I'd be willing to buy another pair if Hoka decides to make them in a wide size.

I was hopeful that the Transport would be my new work shoe but I've been wearing Gaviota's and am used to the additional support as I have a bad ankle. I would have needed to wear an ankle support with these everyday. They fit well and were comfortable just not the support that I need.

As another poster remarked, the toe box is small especially in the height. Also they are too narrow across the ball of my foot and I have narrow to average width feet and bought a half size up from my normal. The gum rubber sole on the avocado color was annoying squeaky on tile floors. No complaints about initial build quality and they would probably be great for very narrow feet.

I was very excited for the release of this shoe. I have always wanted Hoka to create a shoe that looked great and can perform both in city and on the trail. I have always used my Speedgoats for that purpose, but they always looked too aggressive for some occasions and I would wear them out quickly. The Transport seemed to check all of the boxes in the way of style, sustainability, materials, and purpose, but came up short on my first 7 mile city walk. They are said to be Neutral/Balanced which is the same as the Speedgoat, but do not feel anywhere close to the same amount of cushion. I did not find the Transport to have the signature Hoka cushion that we all know and love at all. Instead, they literally hurt my feet. There is something in the midsole right in front of heel and in between the arch that felt like a lump on every step to the point that my left foot felt bruised for a couple of days after. On top of that, my sweat left weird splotchy stains on the Cordura fabric. I wear thin merino socks and don't have overly sweaty feet, so I would say this is a material fail. Unfortunately, I had to return them and will probably just buy another pair of Speedgoats for my adventure travel. Hopefully the Transport will work for other people or get better over time.

They are great for bad weather days when I need a waterproof shoe, but are not comfortable to wear all day. To me they sacrifice comfort for waterproof. The thicker material pinches my toes when walking.

The "Transport" model shoe is more narrow than normal; though the shoe length is correct. Additiinally, these shoes are noisy when walking in them, making an audible crunchy, squishy sound. The sound is loud and audible to other people who are nearby. You will not be stealthy in these shoes.
