I used my Merrill's on my walk in Arkansas. It was a hilly dirt road.

My exception to giving 5 stars is because my right heel turns inward. I don't know if I can find an insert to stop that from happening but it is needed. It is only this particular sneaker. The sneaker is cool, comfortable and good looking. I would recommend.

Normally I love Merrell shoes. These ones I loved until they lasted only 3,5 months! Yes, I contacted the customer service in hopes of exchanging them, but alas they insisted that it was wear and tear issue. I dont believe so. I am not a heavy person (56, 130lb) and I know how I walk (no feet issues, gait or other physical problems.) Normally quality shoes last me years before they give out. But 3,5 months only is not acceptable for quality Merrell shoes are claiming.
I will probably try them one more time. They were comfortable, but the sole wore out way too quickly.

TLDR: they are lightweight, breathable, durable, and adorable, but don't size down as recommended
I was actually looking to replace a previous pair of Merrell barefoot hiking shoes that were starting to fall apart and I really wanted the exact same thing but they were no longer available. So I went with these instead. These are super light and breathable, which is great, and they are very cute. But I have to tie and untie the laces every time I put them on or take them of which I didn't have to do with my last pair. I was hoping to be able to slip them on and off but I don't see that style available anymore. These ones also don't fit as snuggly around my ankles as my last pair, so dirt and pebbles get inside the shoes while I'm hiking, which never happened with the previous style that doesn't tie, because they slipped on like socks and they hugged my ankles so you would actually have to try to get something in there. My biggest problem is that on the website, it is recommended to buy a half size smaller than your actual size. I did this and I really wish I hadn't. I am a size 6.5 but I followed the advice and bought a size 6. When I first put them on, they felt ok I guess. My feet did fit in them, but they were very snug. But when I went for a hike the first time, I had nowhere near enough room in the toe box and I was in massive pain the entire way down the mountain. I was ok going up because of the angle; but on the way down, my toes were being pressed hard into the toe box and I actually did some real damage to my toes. The big toenail on each foot sustained visible damage and they are still black. I just have to wait for it to grow out. I don't know how the right size would have worked for me, if I would have had enough room in the toe box, but my recommendation would be to just order your regular size. Don't size down as recommended. I started tying them as loosely as possible, especially down by the toe box, and it has helped, but I still would definitely be much more comfortable in a 6.5. I know I could have returned them and reordered the correct size but I had already taken a long hike in them by the time I realized they were just way too small and I never got around to packing them back up and sending them off. So I have just kept them and decided to try to make them work but it's really a bummer because I wanted to love them like I loved my old Merrills.

I have been buying the barefoot gloves for years and have gone through at least 10 pairs. I like the longer laces and changes to the way they lace up. However they are not quite as comfortable as my previous pairs and I think it has to do with the changes to the sole of shoe. Also the new pattern on the sole makes a weird noise when I walk or run and snags on the carpet a bit.

Im still on the fence about whether barefoot vs "support" is best for my plantar fasciitis, but these are very comfortable. Soft and flexible and try to size.

This is my fourth pair or Vapors in about 8 years. Normally they are a 5 but within a week of just wearing them only to the gym, the sole is pulling away from the show fabric. Im so disappointed because theyre my go-to gym shoe.
Hopefully the next version will address this issue.

Really comfortable and very flexible. The only downfall is that when you walk especially on pebble rocks or the cart bumpers they have at stores you feel everything and even a goat head went through. So watch where you walk. Otherwise a really good shoe. I’d probably buy another pair.

These may be the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned! The only thing I don't like is that whenever I walk on a gravel path, the treads pick up quite a few stones which I then have to dislodge to avoid clicking along the sidewalk.

I originally ordered the mens VG6 in olive because I didnt prefer any of the womens colors, but the sizing just didnt translate (im a womens 8 and ordered a 7, too big). Instead I took a chance on the pink color, and was delighted to see that they are actually a mauvy purple. I edited the color of my photo to most closely match the actual color of the shoe. So pretty, I absolutely love them. The fit is a little roomier than the VG4, which Im happy about (gives me a little more breathing room and wiggle room for my toes). They feel really balanced and dont have any pressure points like some of the older versions, and the ankle padding feels very nice and supportive. If you are on the fence due to the color, just get them, you wont regret it.

This is my fourth pair of Vapor Gloves. I've ran a trail marathon in them, use them at the gym and while riding my bike and trot around town in them. Perfect overall shoe.
Just like any item that you use a lot, also Vapor Gloves will wear out. The rubber starts smiling from the seams and the bendy parts will get holes.
Happy to also note that it's ok to go up or down half a size. They fit equally as snug depending on the sock thickness.
If you are that American who travels to Europe wearing your sneakers, make this the sneaker of choice and they can barely tell where you come from.

Really love the barefoot shoes. It does seem as though something has changed in design. I've been wearing a size 7 for 5 years or so, this pair is way small. I'd size up a half size at least.

Comfort plus on this years style! Sole is a little more supple than on my older Merrell barefoot. Wonderful barefoot feel! This style is back to being a little wider than the last couple years making them even more comfortable. Bought 2 pair. Granite/fuchsia and incense/tahoe (because Im not good with white shoes had I get the womens). Will probably order another color or 2 eventually.

I first bought the color burlwood in size 9 and it fit great and I love it so much I bought the oyster/atol
Well it did not run the same in size and was tight and hurt my toes. I will be giving to my daughter and ordering a 9 1/2 because I like the color so much. I hope it fits when it comes

Purchased the oyster/atoll and love these. I wear trail gloves daily for walking and thought I would give these a try. They fit the same in length and may or may not be a bit wider at the toe, which I love because I have bunions. My feet are sensitive and these dont rub or hurt anywhere, so very comfortable! I do feel the ground a little more in these, and I like that. I have just the right amount of support throughout this shoe. Im pleased! I expected the color to be more white, rather than a light sand shade, but love these. Highly recommend and will buy another pair soon!

After wearing out a pair of an earlier model of theses shoes, I found that I really missed them. I wear these as my Saturday shoes to do chores inside and outside, for light exercise and hiking, and with socks for supportive house shoes. They also pack really well - so I take them for gym shoes when I travel and only want to pack one carry on suitcase.

I love Merrell shoes/boots and have not tried a minimal support/barefoot type of shoe before. If you are looking for this type of a shoe, the quality and fit of this is great. However, i'm just not comfortable with this limited support. Thought i'd give it a try and I'm glad I did but I'm going to send this pair back.
I'd also recommend:
