Nice boot; good room in toebox and great sole. However the ankle area has a seam where waterproof lining meets ankle cuff, and that and the mesh fabric are quite hard and rough; even with thick socks it was not comfortable around the ankle; also as with other Merrell mid height boots the ankle seems to hit at the wrong places.
I also note the footbed is not removable as stated in the description and the boots do not accommodate my custom orthotic as Agility peak 4 do. Disappointed to be returning.

In addition to earlier review, the Merrell shoe box was torn on the side.

I liked how these looked and in black they could be worn in the city as well as on trails. Great that they are waterproof. The sole although grippy and real vibram was just too stiff and inflexible for me and didn’t provide the arch support I was hoping for from wearing other Merrells.

I liked the idea of a tennis shoes type hiker. Ordered my usual size 8 and wore them at home a little before hiking in RMNP. Toe box is a little narrower compared to my favorite Moabs, and they fit so snug that I can't wear cushioned socks. Maybe should have gotten an 8 1/2. I will continue to switch between my 2 pairs of Merrells, but will go back to the Moab line next time I order.

Felt like poor quality for Merrill, no arch support, not wide enough, and not worth 100.00

I was disappointed by the lack of support and stability in these shoes. For me they are not comfortable for running or walking.

I wear orthotics and have been loyal to Merrell for years for their quality and the ability to remove insoles in all shoes.
The insole in these is glued down. I’m very disappointed that Merrell has changed this on some shoes.

I don’t know how the fit was because I couldn’t remove the insole as in other Merrell shoes.
I wear orthotics and this is a major disappointment that Merrell has started gluing down the insole in some shoes.
