Really happy with this purchase! I had an old pair of Merrell's before, but these are more cushiony and feel lighter on my feet. Good foot support too, for such a light shoe.

I wear a 9.5 M in most shoes..Under Armour, Nike, Adidas etc., and assumed these would be true to size. I returned for 1/2 size smaller, which is better but could’ve went a whole size smaller. The fit to size ratio is more comparable to some boot brands..Rocky, Georgia boot etc being much longer and wider than an athletic shoe of the same size. Order smaller than your size or they will not fit.

I was looking for a different shoe to replace my normal 'walkers.' Thought I'd give Merrell a try. Overall, I like this shoe a lot. It is comfortable and wears very well (sole and outer). Two complaints. First, the inside lining in the heel doesn't appear to be very durable - certainly as compared to the sole and outer. The lining completely wore through (see pics) in less than 2 months, averaging 12-14 miles of walking a week. Second, they squeak loudly walking indoors. Not sure if it's my orthotic rubbing or the materials. Very annoying; wore them to work one day it became clear I wouldn't be doing that again. Don't notice it at all outdoors when I'm walking. May be a factor if you're planning on wearing in casual settings. It it wasn't for the inside heel wear, I'd probably give this 5 stars based on the comfort and external durability.

After more than 5 pairs of Merrill shoes, I have no need to wear anything else. My clogs, My new Kicks, My merrill dress shoes. And two pair of hikers...I really enjoy the comfort.

The Speed Ecos performed great on my recent hike in The Redwoods, they provided comfort for hours long hiking across different types of terrain and enough traction to keep me safe on some steep inclines.

My usage is quite different as I purchased my shoes for work. Im a retail manager and walk over 20k steps a shift. I will work around wood pallets, metal carts and a ton of different freight. The reinforced protected toe area and overall fantastic comfort enable me to stand on my feet shift after shift. With the new styles and colors, Im able to match outfits I feel good wearing

I bought these direct from Merrell as normal. This is my 8 pair of Merrel shoes and the first that don't really fit well. The toe box is huge and the 9.5 are longer than any other pair. So alot of loose room in front. Other than the fit, build quality is good as I expect from Merrell.

I bought these for a trip to Colorado and they were great. The shoes are lightweight, very comfortable, and I had great traction during our hikes. Traditionally I use mid boots, but during our hikes I never felt like I was missing ankle support. The description says these have a bellows tongue to keep debris out, but the tongue is not connected on the sides like a bellows tongue so some debris got in, but that can easily be taken care of during a quick break.

I recently purchased a pair of these shoes because I was looking for a lightweight shoe for travel. The weight is listed by Merrell as 9.5 ounces per shoe. The pair that was delivered to me ( Mens size 10) are 11.6 ounces per shoe. Over 20% more!!! Overall, I like the shoes but I find this weight discrepancy deceptive advertising.

Super comfortable right out of the box. Sole arch support feels great and they are lightweight. Im normally a 9.5m and these were a little long but it worked out because I like the added toe room, everywhere else through the foot they fit perfectly.

Probably the cheapest feeling Merrells I've ever bought, and the only pair I have with no Bellows Tongue. It's just sewed in at the top so if you live, run or hike with lots of rocks and gravel these are probably going to be a problem. Also they came with the cheapest, shortest laces ever. I was going to return the pair they exchanged as they told me the 1st was defective, but I needed the shoes for a trip so I kept them and it appears that this model just doesn't have a bellows tongue no matter how many replacements they send.

Fantastic shoes! I wore them constantly on a trip to the Netherlands and Belgium. The weather was awful with cold temperatures, rain, and high winds. But my feet were fine-warm and dry, but even more importantly, the shoes had great traction on wet cobblestone streets. No slips or falls.

I have 71 miles on them at this point; most urban/urban trail use to date. Lugs are fine for moderate terrain but would suffer a lot on a seriously muddy session. Took ~5-10mi for the footbed and flex to get from being super stiff for me to being somewhat pliable to where I didn't notice it anymore. I would like to have just a bit more cushion, but that is my only complaint. Worn mostly in temps < 40F; ventilation is good, but I am not just standing around when wearing them; wearing with running socks my feet are warm enough. No blisters for me from the get-go. Toe box is nice and roomy and allowed me to not size up just to gain width; I followed the printed Merrell sizing template and find them true-to-size. Overall, the shoes meet my expectations.
