I'm pleased with my purchase of the Chandler in Piombo Suede. The color is a nice sharkskin grey with blue undertones that get brought out depending upon the pant color worn with them. The suede on my particular pair was very soft, and overall craftsmanship was excellent. I typically wear a size 10D in my other shoes, and these fit true to size. My only minor complaints are (1) the Dainite sole makes the boot a little heavy for what would normally be a lighter-weight boot, and (2) the stock laces are a couple of inches too short for my taste, but laces are easily replaced.

Overall I'm happy with this pair of boots. A couple things to note that echo other reviews, the leather is very soft, the shoe is creasing quickly and especially on the vamp and where you tie the laces you see it on the tongue. Besides that I think they look great and are comfortable for all day use.

Handsome boot with a comfortable tread. A little tight across the instep. Nice color but would have loved a darker brown option as well.

It is a very good looking boot and appears to be well-made as are all AE products I've owned over the last 30 years. My only issue is that the D width seems a bit too wide. Unfortunately, it did not come in a C width as many AE products did previously. A leather inner sole should solve that problem. I guess its a matter of cost/inventory control where only D and EEE widths are made, which presumably are the most common sizes.

I really like these boots. They're very stylish but more importantly, super comfortable. I've found most Chukka boots to be uncomfortable out of the box, but these feel great even as I am breaking them in. great footwear.

Good quality. Bought on sale/ clearance. Unfortunately feels and fits like it is one size larger. This is the second time that a shoe from this company bought on sale has not fit correctly. And NOT RETURNABLE (sale item). And yes, I have other allen Edmond shoes (full price) that fit perfectly. They either put defective products on sale/clearance or I am an incredibly unlucky guy.

I am disappointed that they are very stiff. The top is too stiff against my ankle and makes it sore to wear

Could be great, but poor execution. The first pair I ordered had the left boot with the back area counter / shaft tilted inward making the fit no good. I sent them back and re-ordered. The second pair had the same issue, but nowhere nearly as bad. Additionally, the finish on the second pair is pretty bad - the toe box is much lighter than the heel area like it is faded. So, the area from the lacing on back is dark as shown in the photos, and the toe box is very light. The first pair looked much nicer other than the canted counter and shaft.
I got them on sale, so I've decided to keep these and hope as they wear in and maybe with some shoe cream or polish, they'll darken or look less two-tone. I like the boot and the fit, but the quality is not right. I have a closet full of A&E shoes / boots and these are disappointing.

Noticeable white marks where leather upper was stitched together below laces. Almost as if marked by person stitching boot together. Just very odd, looked like chalk but would not come off. Also stitching in this area was very poor and loose. Would have led to problems after a few wears. Where is the quality control? I tried two orders of the same boot and both had stitching issues and loos stitching. Very disappointed.

Very stiff leather, not comfortable at all, and value not there.

Terrible workmanship and overall quality. Many year customer with many AE shoes and the Chandler chukka boot is not close to the quality of this otherwise excellent footwear company. Do not order; maybe a reasonable purchase but only from a brick and mortar store where you can see and try on the merchandise.

Poor quality construction and leather, especially for the price. The midsoles are shaped in kind of a convex curve, so walking feels like more of a rocking motion, and when standing flat on the heels the forefoot doesn't actually touch the ground. The vamp obtained deep creases as soon as I tried these on and walked a few steps in my house. Leather on the tongue of the right boot looks terrible once I tied the laces - either dye rubbing off or more creasing (or both). Arrived with scratches. Would be somewhat generous to even call these 2nds quality.
I own multiple pairs of AEs from both before the PE acquisition and after. Every order I've placed after the PE acquisition has required at least one (and occasionally two!) rounds of returns for obvious QC issues, and I'm not an eagle eye.

These were very uncomfortable. The issue was in the heel cup. There's a ridge halfway up the back that runs above the heel uncomfortably. It's like they weren't finished properly.

Poor construction. The backstay of the left boot is sewn on about 30 degrees to the left. They have actually sent me this same boot three times now. Each time I return it as "defective" with a drawing indicating what is wrong. The return team disregards this and puts it back into circulation. I would love to find a version of this boot that is not made incorrectly.
