The strap that is stationary is too tight and I knew a boot maker in town could fix it. But when I did a trial run, I kept catching the toe. Too big. I'm leery of going down a size because of the toe strap.

I love the Birkenstock Mayari. They are my first pair of Birkenstocks and I am very happy I gave them a try. They have a tapered curve from my big toe down to my little toe unlike other Birkenstocks which seem straight across the top. I am an average width (though I usually wear a medium/not narrow footed) and I was afraid the Birkenstock would be too wide. The Mayari was perfect. They need breaking in as the leather and the foot pad feels a bit stiff but after wearing them for 1 hour, I trust they will be fine. Also, I usually don't like anything between my toes but these feel like they will loosen up. They aren't bad even right out of the box. And, with the strappy look of the Mayari, I don't think they look like your average Berkenstock. Definitely worth a try!!!

I HAVE FOUND WHEN YOU GET THE CORRECT SIZE FOR YOUR FOOT, IT FEELS REAL GOOD! AND THIS SHOE FEELS GREAT EVERYWHERE, TRUE TO SIZE AND GREAT SUPPORT WITH EXCELLENT STYLE....... THSY IS WHAT I LIKE!!!

I ordered a size smaller and they fit well. Usually wear a 39 (8-8.5) but Birkenstocks seem to run big on me and seem to be an inch too long, so a 38 are the correct size for me, though it's a close fit. The crosswise loop strap at the big toe was so extremely tight where the adjustable strap goes underneath that I could not fit my big toe into the loop! I changed the strap to sit over instead of under and this allowed enough room for my big toe. Once the leather stretches, I can probably go back to threading the strap underneath. Love the arch support. I have low profile feet so I will eventually have to add more holes to the straps to tighten both straps as the leather does stretch. 4 stars because it took 2 weeks to break them in for comfort. I am a convert to Birkenstocks. Used to wear Earth Shoes until they changed the designs, cheapened the materials, and lost the high arch support.

These feel amazing! Even after a full day of walking of walking I don’t have the foot and back pain I would normally experience.

I usually wear a 7/ 7.5, ordered the 38 and they were huge! The 37 fit perfectly. Ordered the Stone color. Super comfy right out of the box and match everything.

Love the Birkenstock’s!!.. Very stylish and comfortable!! Now we just need some hot weather in Seattle!!..???

These are my favorite sandals of all time. This is my fourth pair. They are comfortable, good for your feet, nice-looking, come in an array of colors & just all around perfect shoes. My only criticism is that they do not have the longevity of most Birkenstock sandals. For example, my Milano Birks were originally purchased in 1991 & I still wear them without looking too shabby. The Mayari has only averaged about 4 years before the toe loop breaks & renders them trash. For me, this is significant because I only wear them for about six months of each year & much of that time is sitting at a desk.

I felt the size fit 2 sizes smaller, I typically would wear a size 7 in women’s but in these I wear the equivalent to a 5 in women’s.

I wear a women's 8 - 8.5, but the size 39 was about a half inch too long for my foot. Otherwise the ideal shoe for my pronated feet, and a beautiful style, well made. Hoping the 38 fits.

Runs LARGE. I am a solid 7.5 in most other brands of shoes, which would, in theory, put me at a 38 in Birks. After reading several other reviews, I ordered the 37s, and it's a perfect fit. I am super happy with them.

Just got them. Feel like its going to take a day or three to break them in. But like the style and ease of slip on and off.

Too big! Has Birkenstock changed their sizes? I take a 6.5 in most shoes and 7 in running shoes. Wide forefoot and narrow heel. These were the recommended size 37. Huge. I ended up going with the 36 in habana oiled leather. I have an older pair of Mayari that are a size 37 and these new size 36 are the same exact size. Strange! I added a pic of the older size 37 Mayari in gray birkoflor, and the new Mayari in Habana oiled leather.

Love the way these look. Not the most comfortable but maybe with more time to break in they will ease up. My first pair of Birks so I’m not sure what to expect.

Before buying Birkenstock, it will be helpful to download the size template to know your exact foot length. I mistakenly ordered my regular 6.5 and they were one size bigger. Other than that, I have always loved Birkenstock. I am going to end up giving this pair to my daughter who has bigger feet than me :)

My favorite for years

Bought these for my daughters birthday. She wears size 8 shoe. These looked more like size 9 on her. Trying one size down. Putting 3 stars for comfort but I believe you have to wear them a while so that they meld to your foot and are then comfy.

I wear size 6 US, and bought 36 in these. They fit fine, though if they were a tad smaller they'd be perfect.
