The shoes seemed nice and fit well, but they do not last long at all. After less than a year the cork started to crack where the straps connect at the front on the sides of the foot and the foot bed has lost its cushion. These were worn for a few months last year, and then again for spring and summer this year which was about 6 months of total wear a couple times a week. During this summer they started to crack more and more. For the price I don't think these shoes should only last about 6 months. This was my first pair of Birkenstocks and will be my last as their quality is quite poor. I reached out to Birkenstock to inquire about the quality issue and to see if there was a warranty, but they said they did not offer one and gave me the option of contacting Zappos or to bring them into one of their stores to see if they could fix them. I wasn't pleased with this answer - the manufacturer should stand behind their product and there is no Birkenstock store in the state I live in anyhow.

So disappointed in these sandals. Purchased them in late December 2018 and have worn them only occasionally since. The cork has already cracked and started separating horribly on both shoes, and now both toe straps are about to break also on both sandals. I've had Birkenstocks last for years with regular wear. These are literally falling apart and are threads away from being trash with only occasional wear over 9 months. I've seen several similar reviews, which makes me wonder if Birkenstock's quality has reduced in recent years. I loved the comfort of these sandals, but hesitate to purchase again when they fall apart so quickly.

These are the most uncomfortable sandals.  There is no way these are real Birkenstock, not like any of their shoes I have ever worn.  Very very disappointed- sending back

I love these shoes. No back or foot pain after being on my feet all day every day. Sadly after 3 months the cork near the inside toe strap cracked. Zappos was great and replaced them. But the same thing happened to a friend in the same place. Hoping the replacement pair lasts longer.

Ordered the shoes on May 31, 2019. Top band tore on August 26, 2019. I got less than 3 months of use out them - and it’s not like I even wore them all day, everyday. I thought Birkenstock’s were supposed to be better than that?!? I was just walking along and the top band tore. I didn’t use the shoes outside of normal, everyday wear. I don’t have particularly thick feet or anything that would cause the top band material to stretch. The fake leather material just isn’t very good. Disappointed as I feel like I should have gotten far more use out of them before they wore down.

I ended up with several heel/arch pain in my right foot after long wear of these. Never had that before with my Birkenstock’s

LOVE the shoe but the toe strap broke 2 months after purchased.

I was excited to get these new Birkenstocks as a change from my Arizona pair. Horrible disappointment that I cannot even get this pair on my right foot. They arrive using the very last hole on the pair. I had an injury to my right foot and a high instep on top of that. I will get some puffiness on the right foot but it is not a monster foot by any means. Please start to make the cute pairs with a longer strap so someone can add a hole please. The leather felt very stiff, however if the strap was a bit longer I would have kept these and attempted to break them in. They are already packaged up to be shipped out tomorrow.

Super sad!!! I bought these & the 2nd time I wore them the small strap between the toes completely snapped! Luckily Zappos had me return them & replaced them. I’ve worn them many times & the strap broke AGAIN!!! I will NOT buy this style again.

Only wore shoes once in while on weekends and after 3 months they have worn out on the bottom. Others have lasted me years. Not sure if these are authentic Birkenstock’s.

Horrible, bought them for my wife to go on vacation and ended up just destroying her feet. Had to wear sneakers to the beach. The straps on these dug into her skin and left her bleeding. Absolutely horrible and disappointed because the other reviews were so good. I bet the other reviews are for other shoes they combo into one review. Stay Away.

These shoes are very wide and bulky on a thinner or more dainty foot. Unless I grow a fat 6th toe these will never work for me.

This is my second review on this style, this is also the second pair of this same style. The first pair were so so comfy and fit perfectly. This pair fits okay, a bit tighter than the first pair. I attributed this to being new. I had also mentioned that the new pair was very stiff. (They fit okay; I were a 7 1/2 and a 38 is just right for me) After wearing for a couple months, they have not gotten more flexible across the straps or in the sole. This is the first disappointment I’ve had with Birks. I came home from work today with the tendon in my arch screaming at me. I’ve been wearing regularly, so can’t return, but can’t wear them either and I’m very disappointed.

Surprisingly uncomfortable. I’m shocked...returning. I was more comfortable barefoot. Not my first pair of Birks.

I bought my Mayari sandals and when the toe strap broke (as I have NEVER had trouble before I decided it was a fluke) I reordered the same pair. Toe strap breaks again only on the other foot, so I have two broken and two unbroken for each foot, so for now it works out as I've cobbled together a pair, but I won't be buying this style again. 6 months is not enough wear for $100 shoes My Arizona's lasted from 1993 until my husband pried them off my feet and threw them away in 2004. Also happy with the Gizeh. Perhaps let me know if you reinforce it.

I bought these in March of 2018 but found out I was pregnant and due to swelling of my feet put them in the closet to bring out this summer to wear. I love them...so comfortable and cute. A month into wearing them though the toe strap broke. Unfortunately Birkenstock doesn’t offer any type of guarantee or repair to their shoes. Not sure I will purchase another pair of Birkenstock’s.

I bought these at the end of last summer to replace a pair of the same style that I had worn for years and that I loved. Brought the new pair out today and I am unbelievably disappointed. They do not feel like the same shoe, but rather like a cheap imitation. The footbed is rough and the sides of the footbed at the heel rub my foot. The toepiece is also rough. The underside of the leather straps feels like sandpapaer. The entire sandal just feels .....off, like it was the last shoe cut from a piece of material and didn't quite fit the pattern. The entire shoe is a bit off center, and feels crooked on my foot. Overall it is a HUGE disappointment, and unfortunately, I cannot return them since I bought them so long ago.

These run very large and even so, were quite uncomfortable.

This is my second pair of Mayors, and this pair is nothing like the first pair that I loved. I've worn the other pair so often (including hiking) that they are worn down. I got this pair as a replacement, and I am sorry to say they are painful to wear. The strap on the right side cuts into my little toe so deep that it bled (the left shoe did not do this). I've worn them now and cannot return this pair, so I guess I'll deal with it. But I definitely won't be wearing these Birkenstocks. Unhappy.

These shoes hurt especially when I tightened them enough to actually be able to keep them on. I believe I'm supposed to break Birkenstocks in...I could not begin to wear them long enough to break them in. Back they go. Guess I'm a comfort girl all the way.

I LOVE my Birkenstock Arizona’s with the soft footbed. In those I wear a 40 and they are like a glove. Last year I decided to buy some Mayaris at Nordstrom rack but they were a size 41- but it was such a good deal that I didn’t want it to pass me by. Well the arch was TOO high on them so I got rid of them and decided to order the Mayari in a 40 this year. Well the 40 was still too small in that style so I decided to try a 41 again. I received the 41s today and my left foot’s arch is still SO sore from just trying them out around the house. I have them boxed up to send back tomorrow. I’m so sad because I really wanted these new trendy Birkenstock’s to work, but I guess I get to stick to the plain old Arizona’s.

I invested in this shoe a few years ago and i live in the chicago area so dont get to wear it very often It is not my only sandal It is in perfect shape and the cork cracked on one sandal riight where the leather toe band is The sandal is un wearable Very disappointed because although i in vested in what i believed a good brand it did not last

I am not happy with this pair of Birkenstock’s. The toe ring broke from the cork within 1 year of purchase. I expect better quality from Birkenstock. I will be ordering this sandal, again, I just hope it lasts longer than a year. (the photos attached show an older pair of sandals and the new pair-old ones still holding up)
