This Birkenstock style runs 1/2 size long. I ordered #38M for my 7.5/8M size foot. The leather rubbed against my big toe & was uncomfortable, not suede but oil rubbed leather. If you have a narrow foot I definitely recommend ordering a Narrow!

I wanted to love these because they're more stylish than the Arizona, which I own and love. However, neither Birko Flor nor oiled leather versions of these felt right against my skin--too rough or stiff--so I'm sending them back. I don't believe a break-in period would have worked for these materials. Now if only this model came with suede or soft leather straps, I would have probably kept the pair. I have a wide foot with plantar fasciitis, ugh! So normally Birks regular widths do it for me. Thank you Zappos for offering a good selection of Birkenstocks! Now please get more of the Salina and other cute versions into stock, please, for larger-footed ladies like me.

Based on the reviews, I ordered a regular width toffee and a narrow width golden brown pair to compare. My feet are not wide, but I found the regular to fit better, mostly because the toe box area is a bit more generous. I have long toes, so I need that bit of extra space. The golden brown and the toffee are very close in color. The golden brown has more of an olive base, where as the toffee has more of a reddish brown base. Both have a shimmery sheen that makes them appear a bit metallic. Both are very versatile colors. I haven't had a pair of Birkenstocks for probably 20 years, and the hard foot bed of the sandal will take some getting use to for me. I will wear them in small doses. I also purchased a pair of regular width for my 13 yr old who does have a narrow foot. The regular fits her fine too. She was able to start wearing hers all day, every day without any break in period.

Having to send these back for a smaller size, which I had read would happen to I ordered a size smaller than normal. I think they're worth it though cause I'm re-ordering!

I have worn this style before. This pair I am returning because it caused my right foot pain . It did not fit.

I use size 6 US and I ordered 37 (6-6.5) Regular width, but they were too big. I had to exchange them for 36 (5-5.5) and they fit better. Still wish I could have ordered them Narrow width, but I guess now I'm getting use to them. They now fit me just fine.

Takes a while to break them in and get used to the style (feel a bit hard on my feet) but comfy after.

I have never worn Birkenstocks. My sister has always worn them and she loves them. I could not find a pair of sandals that I could just slip into so I checked out Birkenstock styles. Love this style. I have a wide (W) foot but the regular width fit perfect. I even had to adjust the strap to the next hole. Have only worn them around the house to get the feel of them because the weather is still too cold and rainy to wear them outside.

These shoes run a half size to a full size larger. I usually wear a 6 and had to order a 36 (5-5.5). They have good support and are comfortable.

I love the style of these sandals but I wasn't crazy about the color in person. It's like a green/brown and I was expecting more of a brown. Going to return and get a different color. These sandals are very comfortable though!

I received my birks and immediately started wearing them. Initially they were great! I felt great support esp on my arches...I have high arches. However after I couple days the top of my feet were ripped open from the rubbing of the straps. I understand that there would be a "breaking in" period but this felt extream. Despite this I plan on letting my feet heal and properly preparing my feet because they are quite comfortable otherwise. As a fellow retail professional I would recommend Birkenstock providing direction on how to "break in" the shoe when purchasing. This would be the ultimate customer service!

Love these sandals but had to return for a size smaller and narrow. Seem to run larger and wider than my normal shoe size. They are very comfortable and great looking feminine sandals! Will definitely be buying other colors in the future!

Love these sandals! I finally broke down and bought a pair after years of wanting them, and I'm so glad I did. The part around the toe was a little uncomfortable at first but only took about a day to break in and now they are super comfy. In fact, after only wearing them a few days to work, I wore them all day sightseeing around Boston without any issues (I brought a backup pair just in case but didn't need to use them. As with other Birks, I find I need to size down from the listed guidance. I typically wear a 7 or 7 1/2 (usually 7), which suggests a 38, but 37 is the perfect size for me. I have slightly wider feet and a high instep, which this style works well for. I was trying to decide between the Gizeh and these, but I tried them both on and I thought these were much more flattering and feminine. My only complaint (why I took off one star) is that I bought the Habana oiled leather version, but the leather did not appear as dark and rich as it does in the photos. It was lighter, had an almost rose-colored tint, and had a dry/ashy quality about it. I'm hoping some leather oil will help darken it up and restore its condition. I'm going to try Otter Wax brand which is all natural.

After reading so many stellar reviews, I was anxious to received these sandals. I have a pair of Arizonas, and they felt really chunky, so I went a size down in these. I have gone back and forth with Zappos (thanks for the amazing customer service) to try to get the correct size. In my regular size (39) they felt wide enough, but too short. The customer service rep suggested I move a size up, but try the narrow. They feel too narrow. I'm going to wear them for a while to see if they conform to my foot before I make my final decision on how I feel about these. I'm the Goldilocks of Birkenstocks!

My daughter and I both had to go down one size for this shoe. Runs big!

I bought these becasue I wanted comfortable walking shoes to wear for an upcoming trip to Europe, and I wanted something g that could go day to night as we're trying to be minimal packers. These would have been my first pair of Birkenstocks, but I returned them, as the color, which here looks to have a metallic sheen, does not. As I'm bringing a lot of black clothes I anted something far less brown and far more metallic.

I normally never have any trouble with Birkenstock sandals but these are longer and wider than other Size 36 Birkenstock I have purchased.

Definitely had a break in period for these shoes...but it was really quick and now have a great pair of sandals that fit to my feet! Favorite part about these...is that they come in narrow (PERFECT!!) and I love the silver color...a snazzy and stylish upgrade to the original brown.

*sigh* I've wanted a pair of Birkenstocks since the 7th grade, almost 25 years ago. I had a knockoff pair of the "Arizona" style sandals from a big box store, but they never fit quite right and they looked too hippie-ish. However, they were comfy and utilitarian. I've been lusting after the Mayari style for about a year and I finally caved, hoping that this style would look a little more feminine and hippie chic. Sadly, these well-made, supportive sandals were every bit as awful on me as the knockoffs of my youth. My feet felt big and manly, so I returned them. Your feet may be different, however. I would recommend them as far as quality and fit go, but the style just wasn't for me.

These Mayari are definitely more fashionable than other Birki's and in a fun color they really dress up. The only thing negative that I can say about them is that I think this style runs a half size big (I have 2 other styles in sz39, but I wish I would have gotten these in a 38). With that said, once they form to my foot I'm sure they'll still be supremely comfortable like my others.

I really wanted these to work. However, if you are truly a size 12, the 42 may not fit you. The shoe was too short and since there is a raised lip around the toe box, you really can't get away with wearing a size smaller.

Foxy little sandals! Got the silver and they're cute as a button. Almost thought they weren't going to work because my big toe was getting pulled to the side...l had the strap closest to the toes fastened too tight. Once l loosened it l didn't have any problem. Hardcore Birk arch support as usual, which my flat feet love. If you're new to Birkenstock, take heed of all the advice out there to slowly increase wearing them over time. Even seasoned Birkenstock peeps will gradually break a new pair in. Save yourself the pain and trust me on this. Couple hours at a time over the span of several days, or a week. The cork foot bed will adjust to the contours of your foot for a perfect fit. I highly recommend the cork saver to prolong the life of your shoe, and as fussy as this sounds, don't let them get wet. It really degrades the life of the shoe. One last tip: If you find a style and color of Birkenstock you love and don't want to live without - get two pair! You won't be sorry. They change their colors and styles more often than they used to. Finally... Zappos has the VERY BEST people to take the VERY BEST care of you ?

Super cute style! Took a few wears to break in. After being broken in, they are really comfortable and can be worn everywhere! I see another pair in my future!

super comfy after the break in period. not the greatest for the first 2 weeks but after that it forms to your feet and its god sent! also the girliest birkenstocks i've seen, lots of unsolicited compliments from strangers. 4 stars because the footbed eventually gets discolored and turned my foot orange once. still my favorite sandals and i have bought a second pair that i'm breaking in. turned my sister and my best friend into birkenstock believers as well!
