I normally wear a size 8 shoe, have wide feet and a high instep. I ordered a size 9 in these and they are perfect. I think the 8 would have a been just a little too short to be comfortable. These have a little wiggle room in the length, which I like. I also plan to wear them around the house with thick socks and the 8 definitely would have made that hard given how the 9 has that bit of extra room needed. They aren’t so big they look sloppy at all. I could easily wear them without socks and they wouldn’t look too big. If you have narrow feet these will feel too wide.
