Stylish, extremely comfortable (true to size), high quality. I get many complements on this shoe - even from my 21 year old son! I own both the brown and black! Highly recommend them.

Extremely satisfied with this product. It is a beautiful shoe that is clearly well constructed. Tremendous comfort as well, which is nothing new if you already own a pair of Allen Edmonds. I would definitely recommend this shoe.

Not sure why this shoe has such a low rating; it's easily my favorite pair of AE shoes! Styled after the Gucci bit loafer, the Verona II takes a slightly more refined look. They are extremely soft and comfortable right out of the box. I'd love for AE to offer them in other colors so I could stock up! The scuffing issue previous reviewers mentioned has NOT occurred on my pair after close to two years of wear. My only complaint is the heel is a tad bit thin and wears quickly for me, but not a major drawback. These loafers transition from casual to business effortlessly; I suggest brown for the most versatility.

I have several pairs of AEs and aldens. At first I thought this shoe with such a thin sole wouldnt be comfortable. The more I wore it the better it got. It gets a fair amount of foot and ankle time in the rotation. Mine didnt scuff any more than any shoe. They're holding up well. I like them enough to have them recrafted when the time comes, which from the looks of it wont be soon. The shoe is versatile and smart.

The Verona is my favorite loafer made by Allen Edmonds. It has a very narrow heel, a high amp, and a full toebox, which all but eliminates the heel slippage that plagues most loafers. Additionally, the combination of pliabe leather, Bologna construction and a very thin sole make the shoe extremely flexible. Despite this, the shoe still manages to feel fairly supportive. The only downside is that these require more frequent resoling than the Goodyear welted shoes. But the tradeoff for comfort is very worthwhile. I wish this shoe came in more colors!

I have a hard to fit foot. Wide (EEE) and extremely high instep. Most loafers will not fit because of my instep. The Italians fit me well. I had to go up 1/2 size with these. Just put them on, but so far, I love them.

My first pair of loafers and boy I wish I hadn't waited so long. These shoes are very sharp looking. Crisp, sleek and modern are three words that come to mind. You can wear these to the office or with jeans. In terms of comfort, they are like a dream. Reminds me of a pair of slippers! I own pairs of Mcallisters and Macneils, neither are close to the level of comfort provided by these shoes. Highly recommended. NOTE: My normal AE size is 9.5, I had to go down to a 9.0 for these.

I just got the Verona II in brown. First off they are really sharp. They fit like a dream and are unbelievably comfortable. They appear to be of good construction. I'll probably buy a pair in black as well. Great great shoes. In the same ballpark as other "Italian Loafers" of a higher price tag... A+

I own about 20 pairs of AE shoes, and my Verona loafers are my favorite. Comfortable, stylish, well crafted and long lasting (as long as you have a cobbler attach a thin Vibram half sole). The only problem is sizing. Three years ago, I bought a pair in walnut in a size 9.5 D. Fit perfectly out of the box. It's the only pair of AE shoes that required no break-in time for me. I recently bought another pair in black. As expected, the shoes were beautiful. But although the size was the same, I struggled to get my feet into the shoes. They'd kill me if I tried to wear them for an hour. I exchanged them for a 9.5 EE, which is a bit roomy but they work for me. I don't know how to explain the drastic difference in sizes.

I love the shoe. I have owned AE products for over 40 years and I normally wear a 14C or D but not this shoe. The Verona is too narrow for my aging and flattening feet. I very much wanted it to work but I was unwilling to try to stretch them so I had to return them. There will be another AE in my future.

I like my black pair of Verona II's well enough that I bought a second pair in brown. They're a pretty good shoe overall, very sharp looking in person as well as on the screen and the colors are great. The construction and materials absolutely warrant the price point, so no complaints there. They must be hand made, because the second pair I received yesterday has some slight variations from the first pair. That's not a bad thing, just something I noticed. BUT... Even now that my black pair are broken in, I am always acutely aware of their presence on my feet. There's always some kind of pressure point or slippage happening which I can't seem to shake. You know how some shoes melt away and you almost forget you're wearing shoes? That hasn't happened to these but I remain hopeful that it may in another week or two.

Great looking shoe. I've worn this style for over 20 years. I've owned the more expensive brand and for the quality, look and price, these are hard to beat!

I read all the reviews and saw majority of people say they run small. They do indeed run small. I wear a size 12 and the Verona II 12s were too small. Size 13 fitted perfectly. So order one size up. I also compared the Verona II 13 with a Penny loafer 12 and they measured the same size. I think this confirms that they run a size smaller.

Erm...this shoe does not merely run a tad small, but a *full size* too small. Preposterously not at all the size indicated. Purchased as a gift, the happy occasion suddenly became the ugly stepsister trying to put on a shoe that would never, ever fit. Yer the experts, Allen Edmonds. You should've done better. Returned. That being said, the shoe is nonetheless handsome and well crafted. If only it could be worn as ordered. Sheesh.

I miss my AE Urbino loafers. These just are as soft and comfortable as those were from the get go.

Nice product, however, it appears to have a gold color strap on the top front of the loafer in the catalog when in actuality it is silver in color.

I own 5 pairs of AE shoes; all from the Italian loafer line. I have a wide foot, and AE makes more comfortable, better priced shoes in my size than their competitors - all told, you get every bit as good a shoe (and a more comfortable shoe) than others costing almost twice as much. What keeps me from giving this shoe a 5 star rating is the tendency of the toe of the shoes to so easily scuff. I wear them once, maybe twice a week, and it seems like I'm always polishing the toes of the shoes. Otherwise, a very good, well-styled shoe.

Overall, I am pleased with the look and fit of the shoe. It's a good value for the price compared to other Italian made bit loafers, e.g. Ferragamo and Gucci. The only problem is the heels wore out after about 2 months of once a week use, without a lot of walking.

I have probably a dozen or so pairs of AE's and love each of them. I recently purchased the Verona's and have found them to be just as good as my other AE's, with one exception. Due to the thin sole on the shoe, the rubber on the back half of the shoe is also fairly thin. I've had them just over two months now, I wear them probably once a week, and already the rubber has worn down and is beginning to eat into the actual heel of the shoe. I'm not someone who drags their feet either, this just seems to be unusually rapid wear and tear. Otherwise, the shoe is great. It fits true to size and looks great. I also love that the buckles are silver, rather than gold.

Too tight; not a true 3E. Look is attractive but I can barely fit my foot in it.

I like the shoes and think they look great. I bought them to wear at work and do a decent amount of walking (~6000 steps per day at work) they're pretty comfortable. My only complaint and reason for 3 stars is that the right shoe is noticeably smaller & tighter than the left shoe when wearing them. It's harder to get the right shoe on as well. I don't think it's noticeable to anyone else when I'm wearing them.
