for me, the problem wasn't length, width or comfort - it was the height of the box is tight, like top of foot (not toe box). They make wearing these really uncomfortable, and I don't have this problem with other shoes. I've had some Half Cabs before that I loved, these aren't like the Half Cabs.

These vans are very comfy when worn without socks. The biggest consequences is that these are impossible to take off and always have trouble with them

Purchase these because I have wide flat feet. Not as wide as I hoped and the toe area still tapers pretty hard. I feel they only made it wider in the ankle and mid foot area and kept the forefoot the same as the standard Vans. The insole is always bad but everyone knows that.

These shoes are fine, however, I think it's still way too tight on my feet. I checked the reviews and people say they have no problem putting them on but it was a real work-out just to even attempt to get them on. Too tight for me and I am a wide width...

Cute sneakers. I wish they came in an extra wide. Comfort means everything to me.

I ordered this shoe expecting suede/canvas. The description on the website states that but after receiving a total canvas upper, I contacted customer service. They could not confirm that if I tried ordering again that I would receive the suede/canvas shoes. Just in case there was a mistake in packaging I ordered again. Same shoe. The description of this shoe is wrong and misleading. No explanation from customer service.

I've gotten a few pairs of the wide Sk8 Highs and the most newest ones have been noticeably more narrow than the previous pairs. The older pairs offered more room for the toes to sit more relaxed for a wider foot, felt wider in the mid foot, and were more comfortable in general. The newest pair feel the same in the heel but more narrow towards the mid and front of the foot.

I was thrilled to see that Vans are now being produced in clown sizes, given that I sized out of them back in middle school, so I ordered these as soon as a 14 was in stock. There is little to no break-in compared to the Old Skool Wide, and aside from the considerable difficulty I had getting them on, they were comfortable from the first wear. The low rating comes from the durability, the sidewall began separating from the sole at the heel after about six weeks of casual wear 1-2 times a week. I've had the aforementioned Old Skool for about six months, and while there is wear, it is not nearly as bad. The shoes are basically identical in that area, so I'm willing to say I got a bad pair, but six weeks is laughable for a skate shoe even if you're actually skating in them.

Love that Vans has the option of a wide width. The Sk8-Hi fit fine and the look was very cool. However, I had to return them because the tongue was very rough and rubbed on my ankle. Stitching and hard material there was extremely irritating to my skin.

They felt fine trying them inside the home, but when I actually wore them around town to walk in. I am amazed that anyone could ever wear them for anything other than sitting on the couch. Absolutely no cushion. My feet were hurting after 5 minutes of walking.

I ordered 14 wide, my size. These were incredibly narrow at the forefoot. I didn't even take a step before I boxed them up to return.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance, Propet, Dunham, Rockport, Skechers

I have worn vans for YEARS!!! The last pair I owned I worn for 5+ years. I Bought this pair not even two months ago and my left foot is drenched because of the rain. The right pair is fine by the way. I don't know what happened maybe I got a defective shoe but man it sucks.

My 6th grade son was disappointed that these shoes didn't make it through the school year before falling apart. In fairness, he has to wear them everyday with his uniform, so they've taken alot of wear and tear.

For a wide shoe the ankle area is so narrow it definitely doesn't fit well.

Way too small. Not true to size. I have not purchased Vans for decades because they never made wide shoes. I came accross these and it said they were wide. Not sure how they define wide. Not even close. Aviod if you have a wide foot. Too bad :(
