These run small. I ordered a 7.5 and the toe box was super tight so I had to reorder an 8. They are a pretty heavy chunky boot, like firefighter boots but I needed them in a pinch and they kept my feet dry and warm.

i live in Vermont and these boots are great for walking with my dog on trails and on the road. They have good traction on everything but icy conditions; then I have other boots that have Kahtoola microspikes on them. I usually wear 6.5 to 7; tried a 7 on in a store and thought they were too big as they were very roomy in the toe but when I ordered the 6.5 on line (no 6.5 in stores around here) they were too short. Reordered the 7's and they are fine: I may add a slightly thicker footbed with more arch support as I pack them out, as I am a pronator. I am not noticing any movement d/t the roomy toe box--they have great lacing and terrific ankle support. These go almost to lower calf on me (5 feet tall). Waterproof and warm!

I wear these boots in deep snow in the mountains of Idaho. They are good for when you are active, warm enough but not super warm. Fluffy interior is comfortable just needs broke in. I wear a 7.5 in dress shoes and normally an 8 in boots with thick socks. I had to reorder an 8.5, they run small.

Women's Chilkat V 400 Waterproof Boots Are the warmest boots I own and perfect for me shoveling snow in Minnesota along with outdoor activities. My feet are dry and warm. We recently had a ton of wet, heavy snow and my feet stayed perfectly warm and dry.

I purchased this product a trip in Iceland in February. I have walked around the house for hours in them, and they are amazingly comfortable. However, I am looking for warm. So I give a 4 star instead of 5 because I have not yet tested that.

runs small, and are very hard and heavy. I was looking for boots to be used while walking my dog for an hour outside after a snowstorm. I will be returning them

I love these stylish boots but too small and then they don't exchange as same price so that I retuned. I will buy north face boots for one size bigger for next year at the Black Friday ;)

The boot is very narrow at the front of the foot. I was hoping it would just need to be broken in, but after a few uses they are still too tight and I haven't even tried with thick socks yet. I am usually a size 8.5 and I size my boots up to a 9 to have room for thick socks. I haven't even tried them on with thick socks but I don't think they will fit.

Pros:
-Sturdy and high quality
-Very comfortable cushioned insoles
-Good traction (tested during and after snowstorm)
-Toe box is quite roomy
Cons:
-Very tight around the ankles. I need to skip both of the speed hooks at the top.
-Shaft is surprisingly tall - and since it's tight, you may need to spend some time to tuck the pants in.
-The leather gets scratched very easily.
Overall good winter boots, but may be uncomfortable if you don't have slim calves.

Today I put my boots on and looked down and they were cracked. This is my 2nd pair in 10 years that have done this. NF needs to find a better material for these boots. They do run small also. Tons of padding.

These boots look great, but are an exceptionally tight fit, especially in the toe area . I tried a pair in a larger size, and they were still very tight. It's too bad because they are good otherwise.

Used when it snows in CO. The rubber cracked along the top toe box, up towards the laces and around the seams exposing the insulation. Manufacturer's defect. Warm but did not last. Would not buy again.

Ordered this boot twice. Both time the boot was too small( normally a Women 6. Ordered 6.5 and 7 and both were too small/tight) no worries, just return right? No. Bonkers return/exchange policy and then when I reached out to service of a lengthy delay without refund they tried to absolutely gas light me claiming I didn't even own a TNF account. Crazy times. Ended up ordering Ugg Adirondacks instead.

Bad quality boot. Hardly worn. Wore once this year to get the mail. Next time I put them on, the rubber was split across the front of one boot. Wore a few times at most last year. Size was correct and boot fit very comfortably so the fault is in the boot quality.

This product fell apart at the seams after very little use. Poor quality, not enough material to stitch the uppers with the lower. Both boots defective. I will go back to Sorels

Purchased the Chilkat women's boots for my wife a couple years ago and the rubber portion of both boots suffered from catastropic failure. The sole and leather look otherwise brand new but on both boots the rubber completely fell apart. Spoke with the warranty department and they claim nothing can be done after 1 year -- so much for North Face's lifetime warranty. I could see if they were abused and showed signs of it, but these still look brand new except for the complete failure of the rubber portion. I have been a faithful North Face user all my life and now not so sure.

I bought the men's chilkat 3 boots and they were phenomenal. They have so much cushion and insulation. Very warm and comfortable. So I ordered a pair of men's and women's chilkat 4 boots.. totally different product. Very little insulation. They're not warm or comfortable, so not even worth it as warm weather hiking boots. Waste of money
