The forefoot cushioning is highly disappointing for the price point and compared to the older generations. I wouldn't use these for any long or intense hikes.

Had several iterations of these boots. with each pair the quality and fit has got worse. Likely the last pair I will buy of these. its a shame cause they used to be great boots.

The shoes look good and are well made. However, there is some super hard stitching in one place on the top that killed my feet. I really wanted to like them but I had to return them.

The free hiker used to be the most comfortable all-weather athletic shoe on the market when it featured a tongue-less design with the sock style gaiter. This version is bulky and uncomfortable. A real shame for a great product to take a dive like this.

I've had previous iterations of this shoe and loved them. But the back of the shoe rubs painfully against the back of my ankle.

Extremely disappointed with these expensive Gore-Tex Adidas boots. After only three wears, the lace loop closest to the front broke completely, rendering them unusable. This is unacceptable for footwear at this price point. I was hoping these would replace my beloved Terrex Free Hiker Gore-Tex Hiking Shoes, which I've worn almost daily since 2021. Those shoes provided excellent comfort and durability. Sadly, these new boots fall far short of the quality I expect from Adidas. I'll be searching for a more reliable alternative.

I know that these are durable because I've had them before. I am a mailman and they will endure all weather and terrain. They are unfortunately waaaaaaayyyy too narrow at the toe box. It's likely that my foot had widened because of all the walking I do, but I'm sad I can't wear these anymore because my toes are squished together. I wish adidas made a toe box more like Altra or Vivi barefoot. A toe box that allows the foot to expand to Ira natural shape.

The shoes are extremely narrow and stiff. They hurt my feet when I wear them. I don't recommend them even if you size up. They are too narrow for hiking

I bought these as I have started climbing mountain in the lake district. So far I have completed 4 and decided to leave the review after those for a fair review. For some reason the left shoe was extremely uncomfortable compared to the right which was perfect and this was after going up half a size due to other reviews. On my recent climb up Great Gable it poured down and I learned the shoes weren't fully goretex, due to my feet becoming wet due the goretex lining only going so high inside and not fully covering the whole inside. Another fault I've noticed is the midsole isn't black foam on the boost midsole but white painted black, so now after the walks its started to crack and peel and now you can see the white boost midsole, which takes the shine of the full black option I went for. If I had my time again I'd have invested the money I spent here on some dedicated hiking boots with a pedigree name but been a staunch adidas nut I bought these instead ... BIG MISTAKE ... on top of that I replaced the standard laces as they were 2 different lengths which isn't a huge issue, more of a niggle. I honestly believe these are more for posing in than they are for the purpose they say they are

Cool design, but the performance is disappointing. With fewer than 5 wears, the UltraBoost rubber started fading, and in under 2 months in the snow they began letting water in. I expected way better from Terrex, especially for winter conditions.

Went true to size (M9). These fit really tight in the toe box area and along the sides of the foot. Taking out the insoles and wearing thin socks helped marginally.

Amazingly bad rendition of a free hiker for so much money, runs small compared to non grx models, boost sole is way harder than previous freeehiker 2 ( at least 6 pairs I've owned) , more akin cushioning wise to a leather dress shoe. Probably done to try and bolster the integrity of the side walls that in previous shoes the black has started to wear off after 1 or 2 wears. Trade off is they are hard as rock and i've had to buy insoles to make them wearable.

With 2.0 they made the sole of the shot curved like some kind of sketchers Shape Ups. The 1.0 version had a normal sole.

I had someone tell me these boots were hard. I looked. They not! Anybody saying these joints are hard is weird. Like, just don't. Idk man but for anyone thinking about buying these because they hard, get out.

At first, I loved the shoes. They were very comfortable, light, and dry, and felt ideal for hiking. I wore them for a few days and did a longer hike on the 4th day. I noticed that I felt pain in my heel and had to stop the hike after a while. There is a band in the back of the shoe that is cutting into the Achilles heel. There is very little padding there. Two weeks later I still have a bump there and can't wear regular shoes. It's really a bummer because I loved the shoes otherwise.

This is my second pair of free hiker 2 and the same issue has occurred, the glue between the outsole and midsole has started to come away, leaving an opening for water, very poor quality especially for a Terrex gore-tex walking boot. The quality issue occurred after only 3 weeks of minimal use. I will have to return once again. These are comfortable boots and look good, it's just a shame about the poor quality. I will need to avoid Terrex walking boots going forward and look to other manufacturers.

They never sent my sneakers so obviously it's getting a bad rating. When I call they said wait two weeks and no what I tell them they won't send me my sneakers that I paid for or refund it knowing it's still In their factory.

It is a beautiful and it is probably great for rainy weather. It was great when I tried it on and used the first couple times, however after a month without wearing it, feels like there is something holding my left ankle which makes it painful from my ankle all the way to my tights. Too bad I can't exchange, a waste of money - do not recommend!

After 6 months and +- 300 Mi on it, the profile of the shoe already completely gone! Contacted customer service about it, but they are just afraid I want a new pair. I would not even want a new pair, even if they gave me money for it! Shoe looks great, but in the end it's a hiking shoe, that should last for more then 300 Mi! Continental is supposed to be the 'rubber' part of the shoe. Also will never buy Continental tires again, if this is how long their rubber lasts.
