Is it possible to fall in love with a pair of plain black boots? I say yes. Clean lines, leather that’s neither too thick or too thin, an easy-to-zip zipper, and wide enough in the toe box to keep my sometimes-smushed baby toes from being, well, smushed. No-skid sole = not slipping/falling down in front of on-lookers. Lightly padded inside = comfy to walk in, even on brick and cobbled streets. Hits at a flattering place on my ankles, and make me feel like I have a spring in my fall fashion step. 10/10 would buy again

This boot just didn’t fit me right. I love the style but it was too big for me and And lack the kind of support I needed like a Vionic.

River Chelsea Bootie in Sequoia. I gave 5 stars only for the Style. I loved this boot; color…design…heel height just right. It was just what I was looking for. Have purchased Cole Haan shoes before. I had to return them. I do not have thick ankles nor do they swell. It was such a struggle getting the first boot on even with the assistance of a shoe horn. After finally getting one on I questioned whether it was worth attempting the other one. I did and with the same effort. I zipped them up and walked through my large apartment having hard wood floors and sat down for about an hour leaving them on with the hope that they would yield some give after awhile. They were just TOO NARROW around the ankle even though I was able to zip them up. Much too snug; my ankles felt squeezed! Good width & toe room.I have a good arch and felt these boots had good sturdy support. I have been consistently wearing a USA size 7.5 Medium for years. Removing them was easier than putting them on in contrast to how at times removing boots can be a bit of struggle. I just was not going to spend 10 minutes or more to get them on for future wearings. Too bad it didn’t work out. Beautiful styling. Hope Cole Haan is not compromising the integrity of their standards of what has been reliably so good.

I love these boots!! They are probably the most comfortable boots I own. They have a simple look that can be dressed up or down. They are also waterproof which makes them perfect for any kind of weather. I also like how light they are.

I have tried on literally dozens of pairs of short boots (possibly hundreds, seriously), over the past few years. I have some that came from a comfort specialty vendor, and those are comfy but not great looking. Last year I bought a pair from a leading vendor, but after a while my feet were killing me so those did not work out and could not be returned. These Cole Haan boots seem to be great. I have a knee-high pair of Cole Haan boots, so I ordered these in the same size and they fit. Now I have walked considerable distances in these, so I think they are good to go for my upcoming NYC trip! I think they look really nice -- high quality, but stylish in a straightforward, simple way. They cost a bit more than I was hoping to pay, but I think I tried on every other pair on the market, and these work for me. I do wish the soles were a bit thicker (that would make it easier on cement sidewalks), but that is a very different look.

While the quality of the leather wasn't super premium, I think these boots look classy and classic. I love how I am able to wear them straight out of the box. I didn't need to break them in. And, they are so comfortable, these boots will be my go-to-boots when I have to walk a lot or have to be on my feet all day.

I ordered a lot of different black leather ankle boots and these were the winner! Not too narrow, comfortable, and beautifully made! I will be wearing them for a long time!

The boot is ideal for my work! I'm outside a great deal and need a waterproof poof that looks nice when I go into the office. It's comfortable and fits great. I would recommend!

Nice color. Clean lines. The waterproof feature will come in handy as the weather cools.

Excellent-Very Soft and Comfortable Boot

Love these - feel more support than I normally do in booties. Will order in a few colors.

A dressy Chelsea boot! Some Chelsea boots look like farm wear. These would go with nice jeans, crops or with heavier tights. Water proof! Buttery lined interior. Some Cush in the insole. I wear a 9 but, in these boots I need a 9.5, which is what I wound up with. Zipper on inside Tab in back for boot hooks if you have them. Narrow ankle. If you have Cankles these may not work. Soft and comfy with bare feet out of the box. I will wear with thin socks.

These chelsea boots are beautiful, just a little roomier than I need since I have narrow feet, so I would go down a half size.

Cole Haan boots! Well made, classic design, and waterproof. What's not to love?

This is a very nice looking bootie. My daughter has narrow feet and these booties were just too wide for her. Otherwise nice!

This is a beautiful boot. Unfortunately, the fit was not right for my foot. The medium width was too wide for me because my foot is fairly narrow. The quality was perfect and was sorry I had to return. Excellent customer service from Zappo’s.

These are a bit wide and long so not sure I'm keeping them. They are nice and don't look waterproof but allegedly are. Just not a good fit for my narrow foot.

I could not get this boot onto my size 7 medium width foot opening was large enough but the angle of the shaft to the foot wouldn't allow my foot in. Feels like a construction vs a size issue. Disappointing

Dreadfully cheap, low quality "suede" material.....expected more from CH(?)!. Searching for box to make return, as we speak!! Otherwise, runs TTS....very light weight, easy to get on & off but, looks very cheap.....heel & sole composition are low quality plastic resin materials, just not for me, sorry not sorry!!! Getting into the bootie was difficult because it was very narrow in the ankle area spite of being a medium.

They are simply elegant and comfortable. Exactly as photos.

Total comfort right out of the box Cole Haan always delivers!

This is a beautiful boot. The style is very simple and sleek, the leather is great quality and they are very comfortable. I have thin feet but I need a slightly wider toe box due the shape of my feet so it was a return for me due to the almond toe shape. If it had been available a wide I would have kept it.

True to size and comfortable. This boot has a modern but still classic style. It will not date because it is not too chunky.
