I've been looking for a pair of black socks for the winter that are warm, soft, not TOO thick (or too thin) and nice-looking enough (but also neutral-looking enough) that they kind of work with everything and THESE ARE IT. I can wear them with every pair of shoes I have, with jeans and clogs or with dresses peeking out of my boots and they look good every way. They're so warm and soft, and I basically want all of my socks to be these socks now. I'm a size 7-7.5 and the M fits me perfectly.

I wear slacks or pants. The black crew socks work well with dress shoes or any shoes. They are very comfortable to wear. I have been buying them for years along with the same crew socks for friends.

I've been wearing smart wool socks for years. The comfort and quality is why I just purchased more socks.

Great quality, warm in the winter, cool in the summer. I have tried several other merino wool sock brands and they all seem flimsy and light compared to Smartwool. I wear some of the socks for work with my dress shoes and some for winter sports with boots.

These are great, but Large in Chesnut has been out of stock for months. Please bring them back. They are the only sock I wear!

ALL of my socks are Smart Wool: from the navy crew socks used for casual wear, to heavy thick cushion ski socks, to no show medium cushion running socks. Well made plus great comfort equals happy feet!

These socks are great! For a few years they also included an elastic band that was great for preserving them and for keeping track of if you need to search your laundry for that missing pair. Alas they have discontinued this and only half my order had the bands.

Wool is a magical material that keeps my feet dry. The cushioning make a huge difference for comfort. I can stand for hours in these.

It's cold in Nebraska during the winter time. As everyday socks, they my feet warm and comfortable. Whether it is outside or inside the house. These are the only socks I wear in the winter time.
