They are very lightweight which I love. In spite of that, I find them to be quite supportive even for my flat feet.
I'd also recommend:
Hoka is anotherr brand I would recommend.

I have been a faithful ASICS Gel-Kayano wearer for year and this is the first time I have regretted my purchase. Normally I have never had to “break in” my shoes. I put them on, they fit like a glove and I go out got my run. The first 2 runs in these shoes and I had a shoe bite (ankle blister). This has never happened before. I feel like the quality of the shoe has gone down in the 28 and 29 models. I fear this may be my last purchase of Kayanos. The search is on for another shoe.

I had the ASICS Gel Kayano 27 and loved them. I've had a lot of issues with tendonitis in my left ankle and they were super comfortable right out of the box. These are not those shoes. These are shoes that were tested by some random clownfoot who does not actually run. These shoes come up higher around the sides, almost like mini high tops, which felt odd, but okay. But the real problem is they made the balls of my feet feel numb the first time walking in them, especially the right one which isn't even my problem ankle! Since I already used them I'm not sure I can return and am hoping they break in or something, but I'm not too hopeful. They remind me of a pair of Hoka's I tried which did the same thing to me. It's almost like there's too much stability or something. For $170 this shoe is a huge waste of money. Do not recommend. I'm going to go back to the neutral Brooks Ghost and use an insert.

3rd version of these I've had and love them. They're like walking on clouds and such good quality! I am a severe overpronater and they keep my ankles and feet from hurting on my 13 hr shifts.

I love these shoes! I'm going to order another pair in a different color . They have a wide foot bed, which I need because of a painful big toe. It feels like I'm walking on a cloud when I wear these.

I love these shoes. I work in hospital on my feet for 10hrs walking, tried others shoes, these are the only ones that doest hurt my feet. I have been wearing them for several years now. I would give them a 10 review.

Comfortable right out of the box, and the aesthetic is great too (don't care for the 30s, sorry). Lots of cushion and "bounce"; I don't run, but working retail means being on my feet all day, and these do the trick. Very reflective, as advertised. Good deal to get last year's model on sale. Kinda weird not to have lace lock system anymore, but haven't really had issues with it either - laces are pretty "grippy", as are the eyelets. I also love that the laces aren't crazy long, which has been annoying in the past. Size-wise these are pretty much spot on, no issues with width and I don't have to go up/down for length. Just a solid model all around. Happy with my purchase.

These are the best sneakers I have owned in a long time. I was wearing Asics Gel GT 2000 for a long time, and these Kayanos fit me much more accurately! They are very stylish as well, black and purple!

These are wonderful Asics shoes. I had worn Asics GT 2000 for many years, but found that the fit was not as good for me as it had been. I did some research and decided to try the Gel Kayano, and I'm so glad I did. The Kayano are much more comfortable, with a roomier toe box. And I love the color combination!

Gel Kayano 29 Lite-Show is okay. Best running shoe I ever wore was the original Gel Kayano Lite. I've been running for 25 years and the original Gel Kayano Lite was amazing - light shoe, great cushioning and support. I even have the Gel Kayano Lite 2, and don't like that shoe at all- too heavy and rigid. Come back Gel Kayano Lite original, I miss you!

Although it is a great shoe, the feel of it seems to have changed from previous purchases. The sizing seems smaller leaving my toes to ache and heels actually burn. I've never had this problem with my shoes in over 15 years of buying Asics. I have bought 2 pairs of shoes every year for the past 15 years or so and have never had any sort of discomfort or pain as I am experiencing now. Makes me almost want to return them! This is my 5th pair of shoes I have purchased in 2024 too (ugh)

I loved the look of this shoe and wanted to keep them. Unfortunately they felt stiff and the insole is not comfortable. The ball of my foot needs cushion.

After being a long time wearer of the Nimbus, my podiatrist requested that I switch to the Kayano. After switching, I could tell the difference in my gait and enjoyed the stability of the Kayano. I have been extremely happy to just buy the new Kayanos, but the 29 are just okay. I find the materials are inferior to the 28 and I noticed it wears out much faster than previous versions. I also think Asics should provide better colors for women to choose from as pastels are not everyone's style.
