They dropped the ball on this one. I'm a large and this initially "fit" but if you wear a long sleeve it will be tight. Also the inner fleece is of cheaper quality which may be fine if you wear it by itself in the Spring/Fall. But not the ideal setup if you're wearing this in full winter. While I did feel warm, it has been uncomfortable with the sleeves running up my wrist/forearm. Definitely more of a slim cut, which I wear, but if you have athletic build like I do, then it may be uncomfortable as well.

I've had this jacket for a few weeks, it looks nice. The outside shell is great. However the inside fleece is very cheap. I've only worn the jacket a couple of times and the fleece is already running and looks terrible. I'd never wear it without the outside jacket. Also, very restrictive with long sleeve shirt. Besides all that, nice jacket. I see myself using it in the long term more as a spring time jacket without the fleece.

nothing wrong with the jacket, but the sizing is a little off. According to size chart son would definitly be a large but the large was too small in shoulders and arms (think the little brother in A Christmas story movie). Returned and got a XL. With the XL he can wear with a shirt or sweater and still be able to move his arms.

Ordered the navy/black coat, the interior fleece is not as pictured., it is solid black. Both layers feel thinner than what I was expecting based on other North Face coats I have purchased.

Was looking to replace my old 3-1 and went to The Northface store in Woodfield mall. I was impressed by this 3-1 and bought online, via the rep at store, because they didn't have the color I wanted. The problem with this jacket is when you put it on, the sleeves of your shirt/sweater/long sleeve will ride up your arms, due to the 3-1 inner jacket material. It really is a nuisance and a flaw in my opinion. Other than that, the jacket is light and warm

I was looking for a 3-1 coat as a replacement to my old one. The features and color of this coat sold me right away. However, getting in and out of it is a challenge, due to the material of the inside garment. If you're not wearing a t-shirt or something whos sleeves are slick, your sleeves get stuck and ride up your arms.

I'm 220lbs 6' (weight evenly distributed across my frame, with larger glutes and legs). I normally wear L in just about everything, and I wear a 36 jeans. This jacket is very fitted. The model in the photo shows a jacket that looks to be a more straight fit, but the large for my frame fit a bit too snug. If you want a more classic rain coat fit, go a size up.

Bought as a replacement for my lost north face jacket which I lost during a trip. Jacket will keep you warm and practical to use, however, quality is not as expected, outer material of the jacket seems to be cheaper compared to my previous jacket. Will return.

It's ok. I expected better quality. There were some loose strings by my zipper and keeps getting the zipper caught.

Shell fits prett good, but the fleece liner is too tight around the chest and arms. I'll be switching this for the non-tri-climate version without the fleece liner.

Warm waterproof jacket. However the outer shell leaves a couple things to be desired. The pockets on the other shell have an odd entry angle and also have no insulation. A chest pockets would have also been nice

The shell fits well but the inner fleece is snug. Two major design flaws surprised me for North Face jacket. It lacks pit zippers which are a must for active people. And there is no chest cell phone pocket. Both of those were major disappointments.

I purchased this to replace my arrowood triclimate jacket. The fit is a little smaller and the outside pockets are too high. The pockets are not at the natural arm length. The jacket is fine, but I definitely will look for thecarrowood if it returns

Flimsy shell. Fleece sleeves routinely extend past shell when putting jacket on. Tiny zipper holds. The whole thing feels like TNF cutting corners.

My son is very average sized. 6 foot tall and about 180 lbs. I bought this coat for him and if fit more like a slim cut coat. Also it was too short in the arms. We use a lot of north face gear but this one was a miss.

I returned the coat as I did not feel it was up to the North Face usual quality. And the sleeves ran very short.

The online jacket shows a two tone blue and black fleece liner. The liner that I received is all black. I specifically chose the blue one because of the liner. Otherwise I would have ordered all black Not to mention. This delivery is a follow up from a return. Where the 1st jacket fit was to small.

Bought jacket in blue/black. Outer shell is correct color but inner fleece jacket is wrong color. It is all black, when it should be blue/black as well. I am 5'5" 130lbs. Size S fits perfect.

Disappointed that the jacket's shell was apparently supposed to be black & blue but it came a solid black. Why advertise a specific color & then send something different. Pretty disappointing!

The jacket is less warm and less comfortable than the one I bought 12 years ago. The outer jacket lacks a collar and is much tighter fitting. The inner jacket is flimsy and not nearly as warm. Disappointed.
