The backpack material is thick and should hold books, lunch, and/or dance clothes with no problem. It is somewhat stylish for a backpack. My bonus granddaughter will enjoy it.

I love this backpack! For its size, it fits a lot of items in a relatively low profile. I also love the quality of the material and that I can just throw it in the wash as needed. Additionally, the pockets throughout the back are great for organization. A great backpack overall with great style if you are not particularly interested in the traditional Vera Bradley patterns.
