I was ecstatic when I discovered that Beans makes a jean that has both stretch and coolmax -- I've been looking for something that will work for horseback riding and barn work in North Carolina in 4 seasons. So I decided to give them a try. The fit is very good -- they are hugging and slim and have just the right amount of stretch and they don't stretch out. I was also pretty impressed that they did provide some amount of cool and wicking on a 90 degree day. All that said, they are demonstrably scratchy. I thought that several washes would improve this but it hasn't -- in fact, it's almost worse. On the inside they have micro-pilling throughout which is adding to the roughness. I think these jeans are a winner for anyone who does outdoor work in the heat and wants a jean fabric. Any way you could work on the feel of the fabric??

I had high hopes for these jeans, but they are not cut for somebody with my body type: somewhat tall (5'8") and lean (132 lbs) with a very slight belly pudge. They hit higher in the waste than I would have liked (which I was prepared for based on other reviews), but the real issue is that the cut seems to be not right, proportionally. They were too tight in the waste and calves, but very baggy in the thighs, so sizing up is not an option. I really liked the black color - ever so slightly faded - so I wish they had fit!

These jeans are well made, material better for colder weather, as it is a bit heavier. The slim jeans are not as slim as I prefer, or as other makers. A bit more of a "mom" jean.

I love the quality of the denim and how the jeans fit at the waist and hips. However, the legs are too wide to be labeled 'skinny'. I returned.

Fabric and color okay. These jeans are advertised as sitting "lower on the waist". I did not find that to be true. I also found the leg opening to be excessively small..they accentuate a "heart shape" which maybe others like but I don't. I also ordered a pair of slim leg Bean jeans but those are really NOT what I would call slim in the lower leg. I have added a photo that demonstrates the difference in leg width and leg openings between these two styles. I returned both pairs.

Although they fit okay, jeans were not really comfortable. A little wide through the thighs also. And a little short through the crotch. The tapering isn't well done.
They are wearable but certainly not my favorites.

I 1st purchased this pair of jeans in a size 16. I thought they were going to be perfect. When I got home I tried them on a second time, and realized that I could take them on and off without unbuttoning. I decided to exchange them for a size 14 and purchased a second pair in a lighter color. The 1st time I wore the size 14 they got a little bit baggy, I figured this was a little bit to be expected. I decided because of their comfort and light style I would take these on a trip to Europe with me. I wore them around Budapest Hungary for a day and realized That they were Definitely too large. What do I mean by large? They stretched out again to the point that I, a person who normally wears a size 16, Could take it on and off without unbuttoning. I figured maybe I needed to wash them again. They were still super loose. I have finally taken my 2nd pair that I purchased and have yet to wear back to the store and purchased a size 12. I knew these had a lot of stretch to them but I had hoped to be able to wear them for more than 2 hours before the bottom bagged out. Maybe the 3rd time is a charm I would consider sizing down at least one size from what you normally wear. I have nearly 45 Inch hips, trust me I was surprised when I could take my size 14 on and off without unbuttoning them.

Dog hair sticks to the fabric.
The dye ran when rinsed. Afraid to wash with other clothes.

I ordered these jeans in the hope of finding a good quality skinny jean that would fit as well as the photograph seemed to suggest, and I was disappointed. While I have to give high marks for the overall fit, quality and great stretch of the fabric - thus the reason why I would recommend - this was NOT a skinny jean. Especially below the knee, the leg is more like the slim fit of other Bean styles. Just a little more tapering and this would have stayed in my jeans pile, but I returned them.

For petite these were so long had to roll 3x. Would not exchange for smaller size.

These looked nice in the package, however the fit was just off for me. The waist was too tight.

I have short legs and wear petite jeans normally. These petite jeans in my normal size were 1-2" too long at the ankle and looked weird when I rolled them up. Fit great in the butt but waist was very high. Ended up returning.

When it said skinny jeans, I thought they would be slim fitting in the legs. They were too loose. The rise was above my waist and I didn't like the fabric. Sent back

I want to love these jeans, but I just can't. I am typically a size 2 (5' 4" at 118 lbs) but I ordered a size 4 based on other reviews stating the waist is unusually small/tight. Size 4 fit great everywhere except the waist, way too tight. I exchanged them for a size 6 hoping for better results, the waist is fine, but the now the jeans are too big every where else, not the slim fit I was hoping for. I kept the size 6 and wear them as regular jeans, not the greatest fit all around but I can wear a fleece base layer under them, so they are okay for hiking.

I recently purchased my third pair in the "rinsed" color. The fabric is much thinner and the dye has a very strong aroma that I'm having trouble neutralizing. This was not an issue with my first two pairs, so I never suspected it to be a problem and I washed the jeans immediately,

Not a comfortable fit, the front gets bunchy. Not great for a slim person

These would be perfect if the waist was 1-2 inches bigger. I would also not consider these to be mid-rise, they fit like a high waisted jean.

Stretch fabrics increase the number of people who can wear the same size. I'm sure this is good for business since you don't have to stock a wide variety of sizes. However, if the fabric bags out the fit of the pants is not acceptable. Disappointed in this item.

I love the style and quality of this jean. They were just what I wanted except the Waist sizing is way too small. I ordered my normal size 8, exchanged for a size 10, and the waist is still too small. The rest of the fit was fine in the 8. I am 5 foot tall, weight 117 pounds and should not have to reorder a size 12. I know going up another size would make the rest of the jeans way too big. Please fix the waist sizing.

REALLY wanted to love these jeans as the rise appropriate for how I like my jeans to ride (not too high, not too low) & the medium tall has a super long inseam; however, the waistband is cuts in (seems to be for a smaller size pant, i.e. not for a size 6) and the inseam on the left leg twists to the front of my leg.

This is the same jeans that I ordered a year ago. The description and catalogue number were the same. The most recent jeans that I ordered are not the same as the first pair that I ordered. The second pair fit differently and was made in a different country than the first. I returned the jeans. I am disappointed.

These jeans run very skinny - tighter around the waist than other BeanFlex jeans of the same size. And the lower part of the leg, below the knee, is also very thin. I am 5'8" and weigh 131 lbs, and routinely wear BeanFlex straight leg jeans. I was looking to replace some Bean Performance jeans, and these were a bust. Could barely get my foot through the bottom.

These are more straight leg than they are skinny leg - they're looser through the thigh than might be expected. They're also higher waisted than "sits lower on the waist" suggests and will bag in the crotch if not worn lower. I have a pair of the performance stretch jeans from a couple years ago and those are far superior. Too bad they were discontinued, because these are pretty uncomfortable and a poor substitute.

I originally bought these in my usual size 6, but they weren't comfortable, a bit small, so I exchanged for an 8. The larger size was oddly more snug than the 6. Very disappointed Especially since I had to pay return shipping twice.
