Actually, the fit was good, material fine, style as represented in the photos. Then what knocked down my rating? The waist band really was the negative. The body just kind of hangs loose, no real grip at the waist offered by the waist band. So it was my expectation of a tighter fit at the waist that causes my rating to be reduced to three stars instead of five.

I really liked the way it fit. I got a large but it was "too fitted" at the bottom. The larger size was to big at the top. Returned the jacket, unfortunately.

Right away I could tell that the quality of this fleece was really great. I am 6'4" and it is hard to find Tall sizes in quality brands. This was the first time I have ordered from LL Bean and was hopeful that the fit would be good. I tried to use the sizing guide to guess at what size would be best. Due to the sleeve length I need I chose XLT. When I tried on the fleece I was literally swimming in it. I was bummed. I looked back at the sizing chart and I didn't trust ordering a Large Tall because the sleeves wouldn't be long enough. Sadly I had to return the fleece.

The "slightly fitted" style is described as tapering a bit towards the waist. If I lay out the pullover onto a flat surface it actually bulges out as you move down the torso. I don't see how that could correspond to "slightly fitted." A slim version doesn't seem to be available. But I am used to clothes not fitting in this fashion. I'm slim and athletic, and the most standard US sizes are made for heavier builds, a bit of a stomach bulge, etc. I'm nearly always disappointed when buying something in the US - the European products fit much better. It's telling that the sizes go from S too XXL and S is not particularly small.

Large size has worked for me for other purchases. In this case it was too tight. I didn't like the texture, so I returned it without requesting a larger size.

Love the material, lightweight and feels great but the fit is pretty terrible to the point where I don't even want to wear it in public. Very short, I've never had to order tall sizes for any article of clothing and this constantly rides up above the beltline. This pullover is also very baggy, I was concerned that the large would be too small but the XL is entirely too large. I consistently wear XL clothing, so I ordered XL expecting it to fit. Depending on the return policy I will consider swapping this for a different size.

After washing nylon threads, almost like "picking", are evident through the outside of the garment. I use a scissors. After drying to trim the threads.

I purchased two of these pullovers and just tried one on. I always buy L.L.Bean men's XL for regular shirts, tee shirts, sweatshirts, etc. When I lifted my hands in the air the bottom of the shirt rode up to my belly button. I was reading the size and fit section, and it says, "falls at the hip." I wasn't clued in to what that means before but now if I see that again it means the shirt is too short for me. Maybe you are not expected to move your arms around in this. I'm going to try again by ordering Tall. This will be my first time ever ordering Tall.

I purchased this shirt in the Reg M size for my son as a gift and was surprised at how short waisted it was. It was also lighter weight than I expected. I returned it and purchased the Minnie Waffle shirt in Reg L. I can tell by holding it up that it's going to be long enough and heavy enough for him to wear in the cool temps of his home office.

Received this as a gift, and I loved it until it got a pick in it that immediately became a 1/4" hole. I only wore this around the office, and definitely did not get it caught on anything. It just had a pick in it one day from everyday wear. I had worn it in the office on 3 separate occasions. This thing looks great, got lots of compliments, then literally just fell apart after 3 wears and 2 washes. Had to send it back. The quality just isn't what you expect for this price.

I received this as a gift. The fit and comfort is great. However, the quality of the stitching on this pullover has not held up. After only 13 months of occasional use, the stitching around the sleeve cuff started pulling apart. I brought this to the L.L. Bean store and was not able to exchange due to being just outside of the one year guarantee.

The fit is strange in that the length is too short in the arms and waist such that it rides up my wrist and nearly at belt-level whereas the body is fine. I think the ribbing of this material causes it to contract a little and it does not hang flat like in the photos. Otherwise the material is great for the south where a heavier weight fleece would be too warm much of the time, as is often the case with much of what Bean designs for New England winters.

Material and look are really nice but this is crazy short. I usually am between a small and medium at LL Bean but this isn't wear-able at a medium. It is like they made a mistake and left off 3-4 inches from bottom of the sweater. If you are a regular sized person, try the tall and maybe it will work. If you are tall, don't bother. If you have an unusually short torso, this is probably for you!

I love the pullover itself but I was really disappointed with what happened to the snaps after laundering. I'd suggest snapping them and turning the garment inside out so they don't rub on the washer/dryer. Once the snap covering wore off the shirt didn't look too good any more even though the rest of it was fine.

I'm a West Coast customer which can account for *some* of the shipping time. With that caveat... It took almost two weeks for the order to arrive. The pullover was way too large, the cut is ill-fitting and boxy, and the paper-thin material feels cheap (like those foam pouches you can slip dinner plates into for protection during a move). To add insult to injury I'm forced to pay to return the item all the way to Maine for a refund. I really don't know what would make me want to shop at LL Bean again. Maybe this is normal for them? First time, last time for me.

This would've been a great sweater but the sizing is off. Summed up, it's short and the sleeves are too long. I wear a medium in everything and generally have no issues with size. The sweater ends above my hips so it looks short and my undershirt hangs out. The other issue was that the sleeves were about 2-3 inches too long. Really a shame that they couldn't figure out the sizing.

way too short and I got a Large/Tall. Also disappointed as I was given a gift card instead of my card being credited back, on top of the money lost in transaction fees.

I was very surprised by how light and cheap it felt. The quality seemed very low, which I was shocked by due to the LL Bean name and prices!

I should've learned by now that Bean's "slightly fitted" really means "too slim for me." Returned it to my local store, found a "regular fit" on the sale rack, and that one's perfect.

Sizing is weird. I bought in store and ended up with a tall, but I've never worn a tall in anything else. First time I wore it it got a pulled thread/run. It's a somewhat delicate material. I do like the look of it and it's pretty light weight.
