It WOULD be VERY helpful to have deep INSIDE pockets on either side!

My one gripe with this jacket is that the sleeves are lined with a slick material - presumably to aid in sliding the jacket over other layers. While this is great in cold weather, it's a mess in warmer temps. I wanted to replace my denim jacket with this coat but unfortunately the sleeve lining make it clammy and sweaty. So if you don't run warm, or plan to wear this with layers, then this is a phenomenal jacket. Great materials and construction.

The color is very attractive and the fabric seems durable. So far it has very nicely performed its intended role of keeping off the chill on spring mornings and dealing with the occasional shower. The chest pockets fit a phone or wallet and the waist pockets are large and at a good angle for putting your hands in. I would have preferred a non-stretch canvas and flannel lining in the sleeves: the synthetic sleeve lining does not seem very breathable and feels clammy against my arms if I put the jacket on over short sleeves.

I love this jacket after making some much needed alterations. I waxed the canvas to add some rain/wind resistance (and patina). and since it has been absolutely fantastic. It could use a deeper chest pocket and a pen pocket, but is otherwise exactly what I needed. The sizing was not perfect, I ended up sizing up to a large at the expense of the sleeves being too long. I recommend trying on before purchase if at all possible.

Nice utilitarian jacket, good sized pockets-the ones on the side are big enough that things won't fall out easily. Fits fine over a henley or shirt. I do consider it 3-season: Spring, Summer and Fall. It is not a Winter jacket, the cut is too tight for thick layers.

Love the color, (appeals to my inner Yellowstone). I normally wear a medium but had to size up to a large. The medium fit more like a small. Love the light weight, purf for Spring. The ONLY reason it's not a home run is, once again, NO INNER POCKETS! Why is that, Mr. Bean? Are pockets a rare commodity these days? Phones, wallets, glasses, where exactly are we supposed to keep them, in our outside pockets?

Perfect jacket for the cool Fall and Spring weather. My size is medium, which is a bit snug if I am also wearing a sweatshirt. The website does state that this item is best when worn over light sweaters. Very pleased with this purchase.

Soft but sturdy outer layer with nice liner and sleeves inside. Size fits as expected. Tan color is as hoped. Very comfortable, my new favorite jacket.

The construction of this piece of clothing seems to fall somewhere between a heavy shirt and a light jacket. If you plan to wear it as a jacket with anything more than a thin t-shirt under it, definitely order a size up.

The color and style are great. Two things I would correct on this is that there's no inner pocket or loop inside or outside of the jacket to hang by.

Other than the sleeves being an inch to long and the cuff an inch to wide, everything else is good .

I like the way this jacket feels and looks with the rivets and metal buttons. It fits me true to size (large-tall) and is the right weight for those cool breezy days. The breast pockets are perfect for holding a large cell phone. I only wish there were some larger storage pockets elsewhere.

This is a nice jacket. Fairly thick overall (canvas + liner). Good weight for spring chores -- fights off chill, but doesn't build up heat like my insulated canvas jacket. My complaints are: 1/ no loop in the collar for hook hanging. I'll sew one in at some point I'm sure. 2/ no interior chest pocket. In the age of pocket computers, I prefer a secure inside pocket. The side pockets aren't secure and are better used for warming hands or keeping a odds and ends or small tools or a pair of work gloves.

This is a great coat and I really enjoy wearing it. Only one thing that is really missing...an inside breast pocket. On some of my winter coats, that is a great place to put a mobile phone, or a small note pad, and have it protected from the elements.

Only had this for a while, seems to be quality but I found the sleeves to be about two inches too long. I ordered the medium and it fits well but even though I wear a 34 inch shirt sleeve the sleeves on the jacket need to be taken up.

I'm 6'3 275. I felt that the 2xl tall was cut a bit small compared to other ll bean 2xl items. My son however is 6'1" 260 was very happy with the fit. Nice jacket.

The concept is good, the fabric is sturdy, but the function is compromised by the restraint in movement. I have found this aspect in the design of some other jackets and coats, where the range of motion is limited. The range of motion should be a major design engineering focus. Fit without function is a no go for any article of clothing.

Average at best. Material quality was okay but the cut made the jacket more for looks than for function, which would be fine if it wasn't sold as a utility jacket. Returned.

Poor fit. I'd been wearing Bean jackets from the past that were medium sized. This medium was smaller. Admittedly I've gotten bigger, which would be a factor if I didn't have an older Bean medium to compare it to. Disappointing because I like the jacket, but tried a large size in the store and the arms were too long. A real quandary. Store sales person confirmed that they thought outerwear is smaller for the size than in the past.

"Slightly fitted" if you have a beer gut going. Unfortunate because the material and concept is great. Returned.

I like the jacket but I also wish I hadn't bought it and don't know why I did, or why I'll be keeping it. Pros: -High quality/well made -Perfect shape, weight, and fit -Cozy and soft lining in a wonderful Green and Black plaid -Great for layering -Great waist pockets Cons: -No interior pocket -Chest pockets are tricky to access (as the jacket gets older I'm sure this will stop being an issue) -Black color is not actually black -Not very warm on its own -I look kinda dorky in it, I think I'm really bummed about the lack of an interior pocket, even Levi's jackets have these at a lower price point, and with thicker insulation. For nearly $130 I expected better. This is essentially an expensive trucker jacket, a nice one, a DIFFERENT one, but it just doesn't beat the competition.

30 or 35 years ago you offered a denim trucker jacket with a Gortex lining. Best all-around garment I ever owned for chores, walking dogs, hiking, etc -- H2O proof & long-wearing. Alas, gone & not seen again. Mine is now worn thru in spots, but still semi-functional and far superior to this "common" version. Please bring back the LLBean exclusive.
