I love wearing these to work and school. The thick waistband and sewing means warmth! Easily attracts pet hair though.

I'm 5'5" -145 lbs. The small fits tight like a compression base layer. I like this fit, but it you want a more loose fit, I'd recommend sizing up. I love the thermal warmth of the Leggings. Most Leggings add a fleece inside that is sweaty, these breathe and keep me warm. Good stretch for all movement, on and off trail. These are great ad an outer layer, I would also wear them as a base layer for really cold adventures. They are stylish enough to wear around town as pants or tights. #smartwoollove

These are the only thing I want to wear in the winter. My pair bought two years ago finally broke through in the thighs after heavy wear. I thought they had been discontinued and I panicked, so I was relieved when the solid black intraknit leggings returned. They are a heavier material than most leggings and they are not tight at the ankle, so they can pass for something like a ponte pant, but with the comfort of merino and a smooth legging waist. Unlike other merino leggings I've tried, these are knit into a smooth, compressive waist, with know sewn-in elastic band, so they give a nicer silhouette and are more comfortable. These are really in a different class than other leggings and I wear them for everything from work to outdoor exertion activities in cooler weather.

These leggings are high rise. They have a nice thickness to them that allow you to stay warm, but they're not so think that you can't move in them. Very comfortable!! They do fall down a little when running. #smartwoollove

I wear these leggings under my dresses and skirts and also as an extra layer for skiing and snowshoeing! Very soft, don't bind & I like the higher waistband!

I love these- I can wear them to work at the ski area but they are cute enough to be worn as tights. These are the warmest underlayer I have ever owned. I like them so much I bought a second pair. They wash well in the washing machine too.

These thick, high-waisted leggings are great for winter running. My legs stay dry because they wick sweat away from my skin. They are a little itchy, but the sensation goes away when I am running. The tag is a little itchy, but can be cut out. Overall I would recommend these. #SmartwoolLove

I wear these leggings for running. They wick sweat away from my skin and are stretchy and stay in place. Love that they are high waisted. However, if I am not moving, they are a little itchy (the sensation goes away as soon as I am running). The tag is a little itchy, but you can cut it out. Overall would buy these again. #SmartwoolLove

Love the high waist and stretchiness of these leggings! They are a great and warm baselayer for winter sports. If worn alone they can catch on things so be careful! The wool is warm and breathable but can be a tiny bit itchy on dry legs - not a problem if I moisturize first. They are good as new after washing so very well made. #SmartwoolLove

I LOVE the high waist design!! Although we don't have our snow yet I think these will perfect for snowboarding!! I have worn them as casual wear to work, dressed up with boots and a long sweater for a winter celebration and under wind pants for cycling. I love the feeling of the knit moving with me without creating gaps at knee or lower back. They don't have the compression level I'd choose for running though. #smartwoollove #smartwoolove

The first time I wore them, the Velcro on my coat stuck to them and when I pulled it off, it snagged them and pulled a string. The weave doesn't seem to be tight enough to hold its integrity against Velcro. Unfortunately all my winter coats seem to have Velcro. They fit well and are hi very warm and comfortable.

I bought these last season & wear them regularly. They're comfy, warm, and I think they look nice. They fit true to size for me. I wear them during the work day, out and about, and for winter or shoulder season hiking and skiing. I really value wearing wool layers! Unfortunately, they're already almost unwearable after just one season of wear. There are huge runs down the thighs, rapidly growing holes, and the crotch seams are tearing. For the prices, I feel that these should have lasted longer. I will not be repurchasing or recommending to others.

A little too thick for me. These would be great for low temp skiing and as stand alone leggings!

I love the fabric, they keep me warm and they look great. I run small to medium so went with the medium. Unfortunately, one of the seams around the waist opened up after just two wearings I have seen this with other reviews so it must be a design flaw. Deciding whether or not to just stitch it up myself or send them back.

The quality as far as thickness and the way it hugs my waist and doesn't slow down I absolutely adore them I would give it a ton. However the material itself snags very easily I don't know if I did it or if I received it this way and just noticed. Regardless it snags

I bought these from a retailer last week, and wore them yesterday for the first time, to run errands etc on our first snowy day of the season. I loved how comfortable and warm there are-- thick enough to wear on their own, but minimal enough to wear under other pants as well. Towards the end of the day, however, I noticed a draft on my butt.... Turns out they ripped along the waistline seam in back, exposing my butt and entire left hip! I'm hoping it's a fluke... They were perfect for what I needed, so I returned them to the store, and am going to try another pair... Larger, in case I just need to size up. I had bought a small, since that's usually what fits me. If quality holds, these leggings are perfect for snow activities as made layer or on their own.

I received these as a gift. These pants fit perfectly and were really warm. However, after only four uses and washes there were bilateral separations at the waist seam.

Smaller than stated size. Very small waist. My mom is 100 ponds and 5 ft tall. The small was too small

I really wanted to give these five stars because they are so comfortable and warm. But after the first wear they are pilled and even have a hole in them. I wasn't even doing sports or anything just walking around. For the price this poor quality is ridiculous. I am bought them for a two week trip to the arctic circle so hopefully they will hold up.

Something about the compression factor of these leggings really causes my back to hurt, which is unusual for me. If I wear them for any length of time it's so uncomfortable. They are also scratchy. Bummed I paid so much for them.

I wore them one day with boots and they frayed and pulled where the wool had contact with boots. I wore them under a skirt, they frayed and pulled at the sides where my wool skirt brushed against them. Very warm, I wish they didn't already look trashy.
