Great for running and pickle ball. Just the right weight and I'm able to move . The front pocket is perfect for putting piclkle balls into. Just wish I had been able to order the XS RED . It is the 3rd year I have not been able to get the color I really wanted.

I needed a new jacket for outside walks during the northeast wintry weather. Layered over a light turtleneck, this jacket provides all the warmth needed for me to complete 3 miles in comfort. There is also a zipper pocket on the right side of the kangaroo pocket which comes in handy for stashing my house keys! Well done. I am thinking about coming back for another! The design is outstanding and construction is impeccable.

Perfect for cross country skiing! I was out in weather ranging from 0 to 20 degrees. I wore two moisture-wicking base layers underneath and was very comfortable. Nice wind protection. Love the bright color! Love the interior zip pocket for keys.

This jacket is perfect for the beginning of winter in Northern VA. I can wear a vest under it and be warm and still have a lot of movement. I love that there is a zippered pocket in the kangaroo pocket-perfect for keys. Perfect for those days when your big winter coat is too much but a fleece isn't enough.

Great pullover over a fleece for long walks on a cold day. Hood is snug & comfortable - keeps out wind and light rain/snow. Love this pullover - bought 3 more as gifts for runners/walkers.

The pullover jacket is warm and flattering. It is not at all bulky but is great in windy weather. The black is sophisticated and sporty. The color blocks are fun. I have two. If you are on the fence, go for it. You will not be disappointed.

Exactly what I was looking for and warmer than expected. It's a little boxy looking and I could probably go down a size but I'm afraid I'd make a scene getting out of it if I do.

I am usually between sizes--sometimes a medium sometimes a large in tops. I am 5'4" and about 160 lbs. I ordered a medium and it is roomy enough to wear a fleece or sweater under and not boxy and unfeminine looking either. Bought it for layering for an upcoming Alaska trip.

We get a lot of winter days in the 50s in the South, and this is the perfect weight jacket for me. The long zipper makes it easy to get on and off, and the fit is generous enough to layer over a light sweater. They hold up well, too. Whoever is buying my old one at the consignment shop will be getting a nice piece.

I love this jacket and get asked about it all the time. It's the perfect jacket to run errands on cold days when you're in and out of the car or going for walks on cool days. Awesome windbreaker and not bulky. I love how wide the neck is and I can slide it on and off without messing up my hair. The pocket is awesome for holding my keys, phone and gloves if I don't want to bring a purse. It's oversized so you an easily wear over a sweatshirt or fleece. I can't say enough good things about it. I LOVE it and wear it A LOT.

I absolutely love this jacket! I ordered it in the Sugarplum color, which is a beautiful purple/pink color which brightens things up during gloomy winter weather. It is well-made and surprisingly warm. I carefully read the reviews since my weight is a bit in flux, and I wanted the best chance at selecting the correct size for me. I'm 5'8" and about 150 lbs, but, thanks to two back-to-back babies, my upper body (chest, upper arms, upper back) is larger than it used to be at the same weight. I recently lost a fair amount of weight, but gained back about 10 lbs, and wanted something that would fit me now, at 150, but wouldn't be huge if I lose those 10 pounds again. I know those 10 lbs make quite a difference to how clothing fits my upper body. I chose to buy size small, and it ended up being the perfect size for me at this weight, with this shape, for the fit that I prefer. Right now it fits sort of like a shirt, or like a hoodie you're wearing as your top, rather than as a jacket under which you'd wear heavy layers. It goes on easily, is comfortable, and allows for movement, but wouldn't allow for a lot of layers underneath. I can tell that if I lose those 10 pounds, it will allow for layering, without looking really oversized. Overall, I'm very pleased with this. It's not extremely fitted, but also not too boxy, and the sleeves, even in size small, are plenty long, which is great - I have long arms and often find the sleeves on L.L.Bean items to be too short. I selected "too large" for the fit, and what I meant was that if you select your usual size, you may (depending on your preference) find that it is larger than you would like. In short, if you are looking for a more close-fitting modern hoodie look, size down. If you're looking to layer a bit and want a little bit of a looser look, get your normal size. If you really want to wear a lot under it or have a longer length, I assume sizing up will get you the fit you want.

I exchanged the medium for a large. The medium was too tight in the shoulders. The large was perfect through the shoulders but a little wide in the body. I kept the large. Enough extra room for a layer underneath. Very versatile for late fall, early winter wear.

These are great jackets, warm, but not too warm, a nice transitional piece. I know they're easy care and they wear well because I'm replacing my first one, since it's now too big for me. (My Pandemic 20 was a negative number.)

Warm and comfortable perfect for outdoor activities

Love it. Like the most comfy of hoodies but warmer. Runs a bit big. I ordered L and XL due to pandemic and post-baby sizing confusion, and ended up cancelling the XL after the L arrived. I couldn't get away with a M, but the L is roomy, despite having large hips.

I'm getting a little nervous. It's already September. A cold front is coming through and I don't see any new Katahdin Insulated Pullovers. I have them in blue, black, the fair-isle sweater patterned red and a gold/gray color block. I was really looking forward to buying a new one for my family to give me for Christmas. :-D What gives, LL Bean? I've basically retired my sweatshirt material hoodies and now wear these instead. They look sharper and offer far better protection from the elements while still being oh-so-comfy. Please give us some new Katahdin pullovers for this fall and winter!
