This is a cute hoodie! It's not a jacket, not an outer layer. It's an alternative to a standard cotton hoodie, so yes, sizing down it still doesn't have a hourglass shape to it (some reviews said its blocky but aren't all hoodies?). I'm 5'5" 155# and consistently wear a 10 or medium in all clothing. I followed other reviews & sizes down & im so glad I did. With the small I still have full range of motion in my arms. The adjustable cinched sides allow you to pull it in a bit if you prefer a slightly slimmer fit. I would wear this under a shell or waterproof outer layer if I need warmth/dry as this is not designed to keep you warm or dry. It's just a cute mid layer.

Love this pullover! Lightweight but warm. Great for layering during seasonal transitions. I have it a 4 because the upper as are a little more snug than I like. Perfect for travel when I am going from warm to cold in the mountains this summer!

This pullover is just right over insulating layers (thermal underwear or a light wool sweater) for walking the dog when it's ~20 degrees F; also great as a wind-stopping layer (over or under other layers).
I especially like the hood - putting it up when I feel chilled, taking it down when I start to get overheated.
Sometimes, I wish it had a full-length zipper, but then I'd lose the "pouch" pocket, which is great for holding your cell phone and dog treats and for warming your hands!
I would have given it 5 stars if it were just a tad longer.

Definitely like this product, it's cute, comfortable and great for under other jackets when layering. After wearing it a few times I wish I had tried the xl because I find the shoulders a smidge restrictive because of the lack of stretch in the fabric which is expected (I'm usualy a size 12 in most things). I'm not sure if sizing up would have also helped with the length but it fits a bit on the short side for me. However, this happens a lot with clothes on me so I would say it's a normal fit. If you're on the taller side the sleeves and length may be a smidge short like they are for me. Otherwise I love this pullover.

I am 36DD with 40 inch hip. The Petite M was a good fit. I also ordered Petite L but opted for the M. I planned to use this for xc skiing and fall/winter hikes in the PNW. I recently xc skied in 32 degree weather. I wore a sleeveless wool base layer under a medium weight wool base layer with the hoody. I was very comfortable and only used a shell until I warmed up. I prefer down but the expense is ridiculous. This hoody with the primaloft is easier to launder than down. Also no feathers to poke through. I love the bright color (currant). Very visible in snowy conditions. I am not a fan of hand warmer pouches. The little zip pocket inside is really only big enough for keys or lip balm. I wouldn't trust my cell phone not to fall out of the pouch. I would prefer a zippered pocket on the chest big enough for a cell phone. But all in all a good purchase for the price point..

I am in love with this jacket. It has the classic LL Bean stuff, plus on the inside of the pocket in the front, is another zipped secret pocket - love it! I gave 4 stars becuase this runs LARGE! I ordered my usual which is an XXL and I could have actually gone smaller which is so rare for a girl like me. You will love this jacket, well worth the investment especially for chilly football Saturdays at your kids' games or at a fun tailgate. Enjoy!

I love this jacket, but to me it runs small. A lot of the reviews stated this jacket runs big. Maybe this only pertains to the regular sizes and not plus. I am a 1x so ordered a 1x, because I thought I would have extra room for layering. This is not the case. The jacket just fits over a tee and barely fits around my hips. I am going to exchange for a 2x, hopefully the fit is better.

So far I am very pleased with this purchase. I wore it on a walk today, and I was caught in a light steady shower for about 15 minutes. It kept me dry and warm. The fit is perfect for my short 1X stature. My only complaint is that the inside zipper pocket is not large enough to hold my iPhone 7Plus. It would hold smaller phones or car keys and a credit card or a bit of cash.

I just received my XL blue pullover jacket. I love its length in the body and arms (which is often a challenge for me at 5'10"). Colour is vibrant, the kangaroo pouch is roomy and the zippered key pocket is useful and well located for ease of access. My only complaint is that is it not the shape shown in the photo. I was expecting something tapered at the waist and the pullover is not. It is most definitely a plain box shape - this made it look and feel really big and tentish. Tightening the drawstrings at the waist gives it a better shape.

This is a great pullover! I like it better than other (more expensive) brands because it comes in petite sizes.
I'm 5'3" / 125# and ordered a Petite Small. The sizing information says that it's slightly fitted. I found it to be more of a relaxed fit -- and just what I was looking for. I can wear it with layers underneath (light sweater and shirt) and there's plenty of room for it to be comfortable and warm. But I can also wear it with just a t-shirt ... and it's not too baggy.

Like the fit, color and weight. Was great to wear with layers for hike and cross country skiing, live in North East Pa. Needs an inside pocket or zipper on front pocket.

I have been waiting and waiting for LLBean to bring back the classic insulated anoraks for women. These newest ones are cute and I was tempted to keep but an important feature for me is a zippered pocket. Please restore that feature and I'll be the first to purchase and keep!

I love this jacket and started with a large (which is my size) and found in the shoulders it was tight and hard to get out of. Returned it and went with an extra large and now has too big of a flare at the bottom and still have a hard time getting out of it. Seems the shoulder area is small

This jacket is a bit disappointing. I guess I knew it might be as I knew it would be quilted and shiny. A different finish would be an improvement, matte and no quilting. It's also too large around the bottom, looks sloppy and forces you to use the drawstrings which I don't like. The colors could be better too.

Nice quality material, too narrow in the shoulders for a size large so unfortunately was returned.

My major issue is there is no elasticity when pulling jacket on and off. I feel like there should be a little stretchiness in the armpit area since it's a pullover. Also what is with all the synthetic materials now and days. I miss cotton and cotton blends.

Ok, LL, here's my 2 cents. Take the hood from the Mountain Classic Anorak and put it on this jacket and you'll have yourself a 5 star winner. The fit on this jacket is as expected, but the hood is lacking. It barely comes to my forehead and there is no overhang, so if it's windy, rainy or snowy, it's all going right in my face. Why skimp on the hood for a hooded jacket??? Of course, the quality is excellent, but the design needs tweaking.

Warmth is about the same as a sweatshirt. At 48 degrees, wearing thermal shirt and light wool sweater under the jacket, I am very aware that I'm cold.

I really love this jacket. My husband bought it for me as a gift. It is big on me as an xs but I put sweaters underneath. My main issue is that the jacket is short in length and so when I do layer it is always shorter than anything I put under it. Overall it serves its purpose but I do wish it was a little longer and next time I'd order an xxs. It's good for spring and fall temperatures.

I love everything about this pullover except the fit. I tried the large and the medium. The large was quite big everywhere on me, but allowed my arms to move. The medium fit better but the alignment of the shoulders/arms restricted my movements. Overall, it fits quite square and boxy and a little too short for what I need. Wish it had a pretty shape to it!
I ordered the Women's Mountain Classic Anorak in medium and finally found the fit for me! It is a little slimmer, a little longer, and the arms/shoulders are just right. So if this Katahdin pullover doesn't work for you, try the classic anorak. I wish they made the Katahdin pullover with the same fit as the classic anorak because I love the quilting, fabric, and colors.

I like the weight of this jacket for layering, especially dog waking and traveling. What I don't like is the lack of real pockets (just pouch front, which things slip out of easily and a tiny secret zippered pocket) and that it feels bulky and even though I ordered a size larger and the front zipper is longer than normal, it is cumbersome to get on and off. I wish I had tried the jacket instead of this pullover.

I live in Michigan and have been wearing this walking around outside in winter casually- I think it's the perfect amount of warmth if I have a sweater underneath. That being said, I'm pretty used to some chillier temps living here. I was afraid to order from the petite section because I don't think of myself as petite, but the small was too big so I re-ordered an XS which fits well except I wish I was more fitted in the waist. Maybe a petite small would be better but I didn't want to order a third time. Have been wearing it anyway and pretty happy! The red is pretty cute too.

I submit that I'm on the chunky side, but not in and around the arms. I've never quite had a fit like the on on this jacket. I wanted to love it, but it has such an odd fit...back it goes. Sorry, L.L. Bean..

Cute pullover. Kept me warm. I'm not a big fan of attached hoods. It's a bit boxy and doesn't do much for your figure.
