I am sorry to say these sheets are huge! I have a normal king sized bed and they are gigantic. I kept hoping they would shrink a little but they have not. Since they do not fit correctly, the fitted sheet bunches up terribly. I have bought this item before, I believe, but don't remember them being as bad.

Texture and construction of these sheets is very nice. However, they seem to absorb any body or hand cream I have applied, so the sheets look a little smeared. I have washed them in hot water, but the smears remain. I have never had this happen with any sheets before, regardless of quality level, so it's strange and disappointing. They function well, though, so for that price I will be keeping them.

The fabric is weird- it isn't comfortable. It doesn't feel like cotton at all. I'm very disappointed because NY Times recommended these sheets.

I have had two other percale sheet sets from LL Bean and this doesn't even come close to the quality they are known for. Very disappointed. They puckered around the overstitch seam and the wrinkles wouldn't even come out when I ironed them. Since I iron all my sheets it was very obvious these were not the same quality. All the help the customer service person gave was a lesson on how to wash my sheets (after 75 years I think I know how to do that). And of course return them which I am going to have to do. While they are at it they could use someone new to design some new sheets all of their designs look like the designs on hospital gowns.

The fabric seems fine but the contour bottom sheet is very large. My mattress is 12 in deep but it appears this sheet was made to accommodate mattresses up to 18 in which means that the contour sheet is very very loose. I returned the sheets for full credit.

We expected crisp cotton sheets based on the reviews, these sheets are soft/silky and too big for our mattress.

While the fabric was soft the sheets were huge! It doesn't state that these sheets are made for the highest mattresses, and the flat sheet hung over too much for a standard queen mattress. Unfortunately we had to send them back

Do not last as long as they used to...having to replace them every 2 - 3 years now. Looking for another sheet set.

These sheets just wrinkle too easily after washing and especially after sleeping on them for one night. The pillow cases are the worst, but the top sheet is close behind in terms of wrinkles. Can't leave my pillow cases exposed when bed is made, which I usually do in our long summer months here.

As other reviewers have noted, these were solid, high quality sheets with a fatal flaw: they were noticeably too large for my mattress. Although they had a great feel, the queen-sized sheets were baggy and wrinkly on my standard size queen mattress, which ruined the experience. I'd love them if they were only the right size.

Cotton Percale Sheet Set. The fabric was not what I expected. Didn't feel like 100% cotton more like a polyester cotton mix. I returned it.

I am a long-time and loyal LL Bean customer. I expected the best. The sheets felt great but the fitted queen sheet was much too big for my queen-sized mattress. I have purchased flannel sheets from Bean's many times in the past and they all fit my mattress perfectly. The fitted sheet on the percale set was so big that it was uncomfortable as you couldn't tuck it in enough to avoid it bunching up. I will continue to purchase flannel sheets and other items from Bean's but this set was a disappointment.

The one positive thing I can say about these sheets is that they come in a wide range of colors. Other than that, I can't find anything about them that justifies the exorbitant price. They don't provide enough coverage for my new 14" deep mattress, and they're not at all soft. I ordered four sets; all but the one I opened are going back.

Bought these based on the NYT Wirecutter review. I found them to be unattractively wrinkly, even when grabbing them out of the dryer quickly. I don't really want to be ironing my sheets to make them look good. I also didn't find them particularly soft, even after 50 washings. They're not bad, just not very soft. Worst of all, they are breaking down after only two years. One of the pillows has a big tear.

Purchased these sheets in 2014 and they were awesome...super soft, loved them. Just bought my second set and was sadly disappointed. They are very scratchy...my face felt raw after about an hour. Had to get up and change the sheets. So bummed...was really looking forward to my new sheets, but these are going back. On a positive note, I also repurchased a set of flannel sheets and they were just as lovely as the first time.

I have loved everything I have ever bought from LLBean over many years. Till these sheets. First I ordered a complete set, then had to replace the top sheet (I cut it with scissors wrapping packages!) and then the bottom sheet which had worn through at foot level. But my main beef is the permanent creases in the finished edged of the top sheet. What I do now is: iron the top of the top sheet BEFORE it goes into the dryer and AGAIN AFTER it comes out to try to get the creases to disappear. They do not. The lines are still visible and the sheet top falls into those creases by the first morning after washing. The photo shows what they look like AFTER ironing, before going back on the bed.

280-Thread-Count Pima Cotton Percale Sheet Set
The fitted sheet does not fit tightly on our 14.5" mattress, it's as though it is too large. The elastic on the sides can't do it's job to keep it tight. They have been washed only once and I'm hoping they shrink in size to make them fit better. This sheet set drys much faster than our old set, that's a plus! We'll probably go back to Dreamfit sheet sets for our next purchase.

I have had 4 sets of these sheets for 2 years. Recently, 2 of the bottom sheets have torn beyond repair. Very dissatisfied. How long should these sheets last? I have been a customer for over 43 years.

I ordered this set a year or so ago and the color was/is great. My 2nd set is horrible. After 1st wash 1 pillow case turned out a different color and now after several washes the sheets are also changing color

I purchased 100% cotton sheets -- recommended on my reviews -- and they we cut a little bigger than some sheets and did not shrink when you washed them -- so that was what I wanted. I was happy for a while. But--after having them for over a year, the bottom sheet started ripping apart. ?? The top sheet was still ok and the pillow sheets were still ok BUT the bottom sheet was falling apart. I was surprised as I have never had sheets of this price range rip apart. I looked up the notes and they were made in China. ?? Anyway, I will not buy them again.

I had purchased two sets of these sheets a couple years ago, and needed some more. I just loved those sheets from LLBean! When this order came, I thought maybe I had not purchased the same ones. They are definitely thinner and slicker. I washed them, along with a couple pillowcases from my older set, and could tell a considerable difference in the two sets.
I returned to this website, thinking I had ordered the wrong ones. Nope! They just aren't the same quality they used to be.

I ordered these sheets to go on a brand new guest bed and mattress. The sheets arrived the day before my guests, so I quickly washed them and threw them on the bed, only to find that the fitted sheet ballooned around the mattress. Thought at first I had gotten the wrong size but no, the fitted sheet is designed to fit a mattress that is, at minimum, two feet thick, so it can't possibly fit a normally-sized mattress. SO incredibly annoying! No time to send it back and find a sheet that actually fit, so I had to tuck and pin it. But the fitted sheet still got bunched and wrinkled from a night of use. Didn't fit well at all. Sorry to say that's the last LLBean sheet I'll ever buy!

I wanted to love these sheets so much. I looked at them for months and I knew when I got a new mattress I wanted these sheets for it. Well, I've had them for about a month and can't bring myself to even put them back on my bed after washing them (I washed them originally before putting them on in the first place). I love the dimensions of them, the pockets are nice and deep and the flat sheet is large enough to cover my shoulders while still being tucked under the foot of the mattress. The problem comes from the material, they are so scratchy and the pillowcases feel like sandpaper on my face and I usually love stiff, kind of rough sheets. These are just too scratchy. So much for repeatedly being the highest rated percale sheets on the internet.

These sheets, unlike my past experience with LL Bean sheets, do not stay in place on my mattress. Plus, the color looks institutional. The cloth does not feel good leading to my lower rating. I've bought many sheets from LL Bean, and have been very pleased with their wear and performance. I cannot say the same about these 280 Thread Count Pima Cotton Percale sheets.
