You can tell these are lower thread count, but this is largely due to the weave. Otherwise, the sheets are warm and pleasant to the touch.

These sheets are almost perfect. They are smooth and wrinkle free right out of the dryer. I just wish the elastic was stronger or that they were a little bit deeper since one corner always seems to slip off my very thick mattress overnight.

I needed to wash these in very hot water several times to soften them up. They actually felt like sandpaper, or like a chemical residue after just the initial wash. Now, I am enjoying them; they are just crisp and cool enough to feel fresh and inviting. The queen set is a bit large for my queen bed.

Very well made. Fits my mattress well without over-stretching. The attached "short side" & "long side" labels are helpful when making up a bed. Only (minor) complaint is that the material isn't quite as soft as I feel it should be at this price point. Still, you can't go wrong here.

Great sheets. I had purchased a set a few years ago. Just very pricey.

Percale is so hard to find. Fortunately, LL Bean has plenty. This is a great product, available in good colors.

The quality is impeccable. Feels great climbing into bed. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the fit isn't perfect. Feels like a size bigger than king. But the corners do not come off, so that's ok.

Comfortable and easy care. The fitted sheet fits easily and does not shrink over time! This is second set purchased.

Great quality. My husband loves them. Fitted sheet is better for the thicker mattresses. Still have one of the thin ones on that bed and there's a lot of fabric to tuck in.

Without a doubt, LL Bean's percale sheets rank up there with the best. I've also purchased the queen size sheets, and love them.
The King fitted sheet, for some odd reason, is a couple inches larger than the matters size. It's too big. As a result, the sheet fits loosely, and moves around on the bed.
First world problem, I know, but most fitted sheets fit the mattress tightly, and stay in place. Not this one.
I'd buy them again, though. They feel wonderful, and are high quality.

I really like crisp sheets dried outdoors in the sun and these fit the bill perfectly. Really good quality fabric, elastic, and bindings. One problem, however, is that the pillowcases are small for queen sized pillows, and the sheets aren't long enough. They are nice and wide, but too short lengthwise.. I prefer a good turnover at the head of the bed, about 5 inches, but have to skimp in order to tuck the sheets in at the bottom. More length and more generous pillowcases would make these sheets perfect!

These are great and we enjoy them. But, they do not fit correctly. We have a king Tempur-Pedic mattress and got king sheets. The fitted one is too large, does not fit at the corners and won't stay tucked in. So after sleeping on them a night or two they are all wrinkled and bunched up under you, leaving no alternative except to strip the bed and start all over.

These sheets are luxurious and fit nicely on Queen mattress. My problem is that they're a bit "slippery" when I sit on the edge of the bed I'm finding it difficult to keep from slipping out of bed. The pillow cases are amazingly cool in this hot weather.

I would like to see items like this made in the U.S. The organic is made in the country but I did not know this difference before buying. Did not want to pay the restocking fee so kept. Overall good sheets.

Disclosure: we put the sheets on the bed without washing them first because we were lazy. It is possible, maybe even likely, that these will be a solid 5* after that first wash.
I'd buy them again; I'd recommend to family and friends; and I'll always have a soft spot for Bean, even though it's morphed into a behemoth operation.

Excellent fabric, nice and crisp and comes of the dryer without too many wrinkles. Color cream was closer to yellow, but didn't send back after opening.

And by solid I mean these are exactly the sheets you'd expect from Bean: sturdy, comfortable, amply sized & they generally deliver good value for the money. Why no fifth star? I've noticed that both these sheets and the Heritage flannel series (my winter choice) do not seem to stand up over time as well as they did in the past. I'd still recommend & buy them, but I can't quite rant and rave to a fifth star. So, solid.

I got these sheets in Lake blue, Mint Green, and Pink. I enjoy the Lake Blue color best, though it is not Navy, as it appears on the website. It is a softer hue of blue than Navy. The Mint is sort of creamy, and the Pink is sort of a peachy-pink. I took one star off the rating, however, because I was hoping with 280 thread count and long staple cotton, and L.L. Bean's reputation, that it would be softer than it is. I washed it before using it, and have washed it again, but while acceptable, is a little scratchier than I prefer. Perhaps with more washing, it will soften up. I called customer service, and they said I could return for a full refund any time within a year, so we'll have to see. Interestingly, the blue seems to be softer to the touch than the other colors. I have no idea why this would be. The standard pillow cases are generously large and easily fit large fat pillows with room to spare, unlike the pillowcases I was replacing, which barely fit large fat pillows.

I love cool soft sheets that are 100% cotton. These sheets are OK. They don't stay on mattress very well and are not as soft as I hoped.I wish I had returned them but I've used them so they are mine. I will keep searching for the PERFECT sheets.

I purchased this sheet set after reading about it as the #1 recommendation in Consumer Reports.
The sheets are comfortable and keep me cool at night. However, the fitted sheet does not fit my new mattress and it looks sloppy hanging on the sides. Prior to ordering, I made sure my mattress dimensions would match the fitted sheet. At this point, it's more important to me to have sheets that keep me cool at night, so I am keeping them.

I love Pima cotton shirts from LL Bean. In fact I prefer to sleep in one. So when I needed a new set of King-sized sheets I thought these would be perfect. I can't wait to go to bed at night and crawl in. The only issue is they come untucked on my husband's side. Perhaps it's the temper pedic mattress which is not as deep as the sheet or that he's restless. But I certainly would recommend these and buy them again.

The texture of the sheets is smooth and crisp, the color (even the neutral "cream") was bright and clear. A small complaint is that if the queen fitted sheet is going to have enough depth to cover super-deep mattresses, maybe the elastic needs to be a bit stronger to keep the sheet fitted and smooth on less-deep mattresses.
