I ordered this jacket for my 18 month old son (32 inches, 22 lbs) and was impressed with the quality. I read the other reviews that said it ran big, but I thought it was slightly more true to size. I am going to exchange it for the 2T so he has more room to grow and I can layer a sweater under it for cool Boston rainy weather. I would highly recommend this jacket, though, for its quality and value. It's also super cute for boys or girls!

I purchased the yellow jacket and blue pants for my oldest son last year in the 4T (he was 2 but is very tall!) and it was a great purchase. Purchased again this year for my 1 year old (blue jacket and yellow pants). I bought the pants in a 2T (they are a bit long but can be rolled) and the jacket in a 3T so that he can grow into it. A GREAT PURCHASE and highly recommend.

Should you find yourself caught in a torrential rain and hail storm while hiking in Germany's Black Forest with your 18 month old son on your back, you'll want to be sure you have this jacket. This coat kept our son dry, and when we were able to find shelter, it quickly dried in no time. It is trail worthy, even for a little kid! Very impressed with the quality of the jacket, and its generous sizing. We just recently had to purchase a second one, after our little mountain man outgrew it...after a year and a half! Highly recommend. Have the pants as well, they are great! So nice to find functional, quality kids clothing. Wish LL Bean would expand its infant and toddler line!

We bought this jacket and the matching pants for our toddler boy. The system has worked great during spring and fall hiking or just errands around town. It also works great when worn over with a light/mid-weight base-layer. The jacket and pants have held up well around the Midwest and during a fall trip to Iceland.

We purchased the 12-18 month jacket in yellow when our son was 6 months old. He turns two in September and it still fits, though is getting tight! And he's a big guy, wearing 3T clothing and top of height and weight charts. We are purchasing the 4T for him, in yellow again, and are excited to pass on his 12-18 size to his sibling that arrives in October. This jacket is amazing. He wears it all winter over a thin zip-up fleece to and from school, so we can buckle him safely in his seat. We just returned from vacation where it rained two of our three days, but we didn't care, his coat kept him dry! Plus, the yellow is so classic and gender-neutral. Love.

Purchased for my petite 16 month old girl. The size 2T fits with the sleeves rolled once (it is baggy but I want to get a couple seasons' worth of wear out of it). It is definitely waterproof and kept my girl dry. It has a nice mesh liner (makes putting on and off easy) and was cozy when combined with a sweater. It even fits over a puffy/down jacket for those rainy but still cold days. The hood fits her head nicely without blocking her view. Classic look: the yellow is bright and a good gender neutral option for hand-me-downs. Excellent value for the price, especially if you can get multiple seasons or hand it down.

this light weight rain coat is perfect for my toddler. It is light enough to have a sweatshirt under if it is cold and works well in warm or hot weather. It's a little big on him, but I ordered it for him to grow into so it can last at least a year to get my money's worth.

Love this raincoat! My daughter is 12 months old and we have size 12-18 months. We roll the sleeves on my daughter and it fits perfectly. Protects from rain but is not heavy or warm. Will be ordering a second one!

My grandson loves the blue color, it fits well and works as both a wind breaker and a rain coat.

This is the second Discovery Rain Jacket we've had from LL Bean and love it every bit as much as the first. Bought a 3T for my 3-year-old son in the Field Poppy (red). True to size and we love the color. Will continue to buy these jackets as he outgrows them and happily pass them down to younger brother!

3T size fit exactly - not too big or too small. Pink outside/Light Blue inside colors were true to photos. Great combination of appealing to the child while knowing the jacket was very well made. Paired it with cartoon character themed boots and a festive child's umbrella and it was really cute.

Yep, it stands up to an energetic three-year-old intent on outdoor play as well as to chilly breezes, rain, playgrounds, and sand pits. No wonder my daughter called it "5 star perfect" and wanted a duplicate for the new baby!

Cannot do full review because this is a Christmas gift so the child hasn't seen it or tried it on. However, her grandmother and I just love it!! We cannot wait to see her in it. We think her Mom will love it too.

... This coat is for my 23 month old son who can't really tell me how he feels about it but based on what I can infer it looks like he likes it. He lets my wife and I put it on him without a fight and it keeps him dry so overall it appears to be a good purchase

We love this jacket (and the LL bean rain boots) for my toddler daughter. The jacket is comfy and high quality. The only drawback is that both of my kids have large heads and the hood on this has never quite fit correctly. The rest of the jacket fits perfectly but the hood is just too small - it pulls the fabric up awkwardly at the back of the jacket and looks 'tight'. We now just wear the jacket and use an umbrella, but if your kids have 99%ile heads, maybe order a size up :)

Great Jacket, kept our little one dry and warm at a trip to theme park during a rainy first half of the day. We had to wash it when we got home after she got peanut butter cracker stuff all over it. I washed it following the tag's instructions. I am disappointed that the LL Bean reflective logo on the back of the jacket was pealing off after the first wash...not what you'd expect from a pricey kids jacket. I'm glad I sized up to 3T, she's 31.5lbs and 35-inches tall and had plenty of room to wear a fleece jacket underneath since outside temps dropped into the 40-50's at night.

nice jacket. I especially like the mesh lining, But the hood is not useful - it is too short, not covering the front of my son's head.

I was very pleased with the overall fit and construction of this rain jacket. However, the hood had no face coverage at all for my average-sized 19-month-old son. If he were to wear it out in the rain, his face would have been soaked. Returned it but kept the rain pants.

This is a great jacket; however, after just a couple wears the L.L bean lettering peeled off the front of the jacket.

There is no way the 4T is the right size. We were purchasing the blue LL bean jacket to replace the 2T jacket we had from another brand (yellow one in pics) for my son who just turned 3. It is far too short - frustrating because we also purchased the matching rain pants and now have to send it back and pay $7 for shipping when we must have gotten a mislabeled one or something. I used to love LL Bean but they need to up their game for online purchase/returns when their sizing is off.
