I am in good shape with wider shoulders and lats. The medium was too snug around my shoulders/lats and I had to return it. The medium in the classic thermal fit great. If your border line I would definitely size up on the Intraknit.

I've had a little trouble finding something that fits. I think it's because when you first try them on they feel pretty tight, but they relax quite a bit after wearing. I usually wear a large, but that was very tight, so I tried the XL. Seemed fine when I first tried it, but now seems a little baggy and long. Still very comfy. #sweepstakes

I bought a set for running. I wear a medium in Smartwool base layers, the medium for intraknit is a lot shorter. I returned it, and bought an extra large. Its best to buy two sizes up from the merino wool base layers you normally buy, at least for me. Its a little heavier than the other base layers, its also not full merino, its 50% polyester. It doesn't absorb sweat as much as the 100% merino base layers, this may be because it has polyester. I ran a few weeks ago in 5 degree weather for ten miles, it kept me warm, the layer was just damp from my sweat. Its good if you just want to use it for the cold weather, but you might want to use a 100% merino base layer fir running.

The elbows don't line up well. As for the bottoms...the knees line up well, but the tops...the elbows do not. Seems kinda strange. Also, the Small fit pretty snug and I'm a small in all other brands. I'd maybe size up to a medium.

No fly...BAD DESIGN, especially if you wear bibs on the mountain.

My husband works outside most of the day, and at times needs to be very active . He he said it is comfortable to move in he doesnt feel restricted however his sweat dries and lingers in the fabric and he can smell it all day. If I could I would have bought him the 100% merino wool as he wanted the benefits of wool instead of his usual rotation of polyester base layers. I would recommend for outdoor sports, not for all day work..

I use this product as a base layer when fishing or hunting, and have worn it for casual daily use. This layer is too fragile to wear without something tougher worn over top, even for casual daily use. After the first day of use, loose threads started to appear in multiple locations on the garment. It would be an excellent piece of clothing if not for how easily it is damaged. It will be interesting to see how long it survives until it is no longer wearable. Comparable icebreaker merino layers over 10 years old have withstood casual and active wear much better.

I really wanted to like these leggings. I'm a huge fan of the Men's Intraknit Thermal Max Merino Base Layer Bottom and buy a pair every year for the last few years. When I didn't see it for sale this year I went to this other intraknit product. These leggings are stylish but theyre so thin. Its labeled as cold weather but it feels more like early winter cold, not deep winter cold.
For context, I currently live in Alaska and have lived in snowy freezing parts of Colorado, Idaho, and California. Working and living in the woods and mountains. So my needs may not match everyone's needs. I need thermals that will perform all day consistently in heavy rain and snow. These are great for runs to the grocery store and under clothes for an extra boost. They will have to work as a layering. Which is unfortunate because the past intraknit products I purchased were amazing stand alone products.
P.S. smartwool, love your plus size woman's items but they still do not hold up to your male products. Some of us plus size women work amd play in the outdoors for months of a time. Would adore it if you made more hard-core plus size products.

The waistband is far smaller and less flexible than any other medium I've ever purchased. It borders on uncomfortable. The length is perfect and every other part of the bottom is a perfect fit and very useful.

I like them but not as much as the original base layer. Definitely different feel to them. I bought the medium and they are pretty tight. Will be good for skiing in cold all day but if you have muscular legs they may run tight on you.

I first purchased this as a base layer for running, and it was a bit too tight. If you want a base layer that is skin tight, then this is it! I wanted something slightly more loose, so I returned it and got the classic thermal merino base layer. Still a great product and my wife loves hers!

Who makes a men's thermal without a fly opening for bio breaks? The material seemed nice, fit well -true to size, but "no fly, no buy". Sending back for refund.

It feels rough on my skin and causes itching when I try them on. Unlike Uniqlo HeatTech base layers, which feel smooth and comfortable, the Smartwool merino pieces marketed as exceptionally soft and comfortable do not feel that way for me.
Perhaps this is due to my own skin sensitivity, as mentioned by the support team. Still, it's disappointing after spending hundreds and having them shipped to Singapore, only to end up having to give them away or not use them at all.

The men's model has no fly opening. Unacceptable. Not disclosed on their listing; In retrospect, barely visible on very close inspection of listing photo. (They did refund for the unworn return.

So the pants are awful. This is how smartwool is handling 100% satisfaction guarantee. I looked around and couldn't find any reference that 100% satisfaction is defined by giving 40% off on the next purchase.
