Shoe was combined with pictures of waterproof (gortex) shoes which led me to believe it also was waterproof…it is not.

I use orthotic inserts which makes many wide shoes still too narrow for me. I really like New Balance but this particular shoe doesn’t work. Sorry.

I’m so disappointed. I felt confident that these shoes would fit considering I have other New Balance fresh foam running shoes. In 8 W. These arent Wide width shoes, they’re medium width, too narrow for me to keep. Otherwise - it’s a nice shoe —if your feet are Medium.

The uppers just seem to rub in all the wrong places. The outer sole mostly cancels out the cushioning of the fresh foam. Nice looking and might make a good light hiking boot for someone they fit correctly, but not for me.

My usual shoe size is an 8 (US womens). However these felt smaller than an 8, and the sizing is a 8.5.

I really wanted these to work but the lace placement is different than on the low tops and hits right at my bunion. These also feel a tad narrow for a wide shoe and are much narrower than my new balance 840v4's. The style is really cute and they are cushy and comfortable but they just didn't work on my foot.

From style to fit this trail footwear was a big disappointment. I am currently wearing New Balance 1400 hiking boots which fit perfectly; however, they are almost 5 years old, are wearing out and are no longer available from New Balance. The Fresh Foam X Hierro is the closest footwear to a hiking boot that I could find from New Balance. I ordered my usual size 8D, and they are very narrow and my toe almost hits the front of the toe box. When laced up the mid height is very uncomfortable where it hits my leg. My podiatrist recommends New Balance and until recently I had always found a selection of footwear that accommodated my needs. Looks like I will have to change brands.

Too bad... want to love this, but the fitting is bad... return

Feels like there is a defect in the tongue of the left foot. It rubs like the right side does not.

Not very good support as a shoe. I used my orthotics but still felt the support on the inside of the shoe was limited for its purpose.

These feel awful! The part over the top of my foot is exceptionally uncomfortable. I can’t even wear them for a few seconds, I can’t imagine hiking in them!

These shoes came in a generic box, nothing to do with the shoe brand. I did not even try these shoes on. They had clearly been well-worn by a previous owner. Disgusting. I am surprised that Zappos would recycle them this way.

When I pulled these out of the box, I double-checked to make sure they were New Balance, because they feel so cheaply made. They're lightweight and the material feels second rate. I've put on my 10 year old NB running shoes to pack up the new ones for return.
