Customer Reviews New Balance Fresh Foam X Hierro Mid

I wanted to like these, but ultimately returned them. I have two pair of fresh foam low running shoes and like them, I was hoping these would be similar. Really liked the sole on these, grippy vibram. But not a lot of cushioning, support was ok. Not waterproof, the top of the toes are perforated. Liked the two speed lace eyelets at the top of the shoe, easy on and off. I think the big miss here is lack of waterproofing, if they're hiking shoes, waterproofing would be a big plus. I mean, other than the mid-high design, why not just buy low top running shoes?

Most comfortable shoes my husband has ever worn! He has extra wide feet. I usually stick with Brooks in 4E for him. Well, these have been amazing in his feet! Even though he loves his brooks, and has different New Balance shoes, these are bar far his favorite ever! Must buy!

I'm really glad I bought these shoes. I've only had them for a week, but I've walked a number of miles on local trails and they've performed very nicely, no complaints. The soles are stiffer than typical running shoes and even than some trail shoes I've had, and the Vibram soles do really well on trails. I mean, how can you hike without Vibram soles?! The ankle-high cut to these shoes gives a bit more support, and I do like lacing those top two speed-lace eyelets. Mine are double-wide and for me that works very nicely, especially with heavier socks - thank you New Balance for offering widths. I'm not sure, but they must be stylish as two people have voiced compliments about them. So between the soles, the ankle-height, the width, and overall fit, I'm quite happy with these.

Just wore these New Balance Fresh Foams to work yesterday for the first time...I highly recommend them..I got a 9 medium width..Zero complaints so far and they look really Good...

These are extremely comfortable, well made top of the line New Balance boots. Light with great traction considering top quality I Vibran soles.

One of the few mid calf hiking runners that have a truly wide toe box. Because of a foot injury, I require a wide toe box. Those in this situation know that a manufacturers definition of “wide” sure varies! Happy to find good forefoot room in these New Balance size 4E’s. Not as cushioned as other Fresh Foam models, but a decent shoe and happy to find after a long search for a hiker runner shoe with a truly wide toe box.

Well I really didn't walk around in them but I did try them on and I liked the way they felt they were comfortable but my problem is that there not the color I order. I ordered Wren/Bungee and they were Brown/Grey so I would like to exchange them for the right color Wren/Bungee

Felt awesome from the moment I put them on. The softer Vibram sole grips better than all I have tried. I love these and they are exceptional.

Excellent option for big hikers. I've worn then for a couple of years, and they're holding up pretty well with only some mild fraying.

Most comfortable shoe I've ever bought period !!

These boots are great. I've been wearing a New Balance size 10 for years and these fit perfectly out of the box. Didn't have to break them in and I did a pretty challenging hike with a pack with a lot of grade changes very easily the day after I got them. Very grippy. I felt like Spiderman going down the rocks. Great shoe. A+
