This jacket is one of my essentials! I wear it all year round in Ontario while working outdoors as a wildlife and conservation photographer. In the warmer months, it's perfect for chilly mornings and evenings. In the winter, I layer it with the Rho Merino Wool Crew Neck LS, a wool sweater and the Beta Jacket, which allows me to easily shed/add layers as my activity level changes.
The fabric on this jacket is very durable. I have bushwhacked through dense forest areas often in this jacket and have not torn the fabric (although I don't recommend doing that--wear a shell). I've worn it often for about two years and haven't noticed any feathers shedding.
I'm typically either a size XS or S when it comes to Arc'teryx. In this jacket I wear an XS, which I find to be fitted on its own but also roomy enough for a couple of layers underneath.

Love the fit, love the material. I was looking for a coat that could be my "all-rounder" for the west coast winter and this is it.

It's so lightweight, comfortable and warm! It's my first time wearing a quality winter coat and I am so happy with it. I've seen reviews say that it fits a bit big but I am 5"7 and I usually wear medium and even small sizes and I got the XL because it was the only one available in store and I'm super happy with the fit. I can wear big hoodies with it and even with nothing under it doesn't feel too roomy.

couldn't be happier with the Thorium Down Hoodie! The quality is outstanding from the durable materials to the solid stitching, it's clear this jacket was made to last. It's incredibly warm, even in cold, windy conditions, and keeps the chill out without feeling overly bulky. The fit is slightly oversized, which I love; it allows for easy layering underneath and gives a comfortable, relaxed look.
It's been perfect for outdoor activities and everyday wear, and I appreciate how it holds up against colder temperatures. Overall, it's worth every penny for anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality down hoodie. Highly recommend!

Love this jacket, this is my 3rd. Not too heavy and bulky, like the extra length on the back. Worked in Antartica and will be tested at the Arctic Circle. Easy to pack, plenty warm.

The Thorium was the perfect jacket for my trip to New York in October. It was cold and windy on the sailing boat and while I walked through the streets, but the jacket always kept me warm. I loved how packable this jacket is, fitting perfectly in my Heliad 15 for effortless travel.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Perfect coat for windy 20-30 degree days in the Chicago area. Nothing better than a coat that keeps you warm and lends mobility too, especially for dog walking. Worth the price.

I bought this 2 weeks ago and love it. It's very warm and comfortable. I love how it has lots of pockets and love the inside pockets for gloves or mitts. I feel like the fabric is fairly sturdy and will last.

I've had this jacket for a couple weeks now, but it has been put to the test in our cold, dry snowy climate. The length is simply perfect for me- at 5'4" and 125lbs, the small just covers my heiny, which is fabulous. It somehow fits close to the body while still having room for layers. I purchased the bitters color, which is a lovely dark neutral alternative to black and goes with nearly everything. The hood is big, as others have mentioned, but I LOVE it. It slides right over a hat. The neck does come up high but I also love that- it's a good windblock (although a little fleece patch would have been welcome. Oh well. Not quite enough to take off a whole star). The jacket sheds light snow and the material seems durable- that's actually why I purchased it- to replace a similar lightweight puffy that I was destroying. I have high hopes that this one will hold up to my abuses. I also love the two way zipper at the bottom. Overall this is a lovely all around jacket that I will use daily in our mountain town and pack as an outer layer on cold tours. It seems like it can do it all.

I love my Thorium! It is my go to all winter - keeping me warm and toasty no matter what the activity.
I can dress it up or down to wear it around town, out for a walk, on my bike commute into work, or when doing errands.
I like the longer length to keep my hips warm and the big hood that fits well over a toque when its really chilly.

Really happy with this jacket and glad I got the longer length version. Colour is great, more interesting than just black. It comes up relatively big especially in relation to sizing chart.

I really like this jacket, especially it's water resistant features. I am 5'4" 120 pounds and I got a medium so I can layer underneath. Excited to have this throughout the chilly Wyoming winters.

Love my Thorium. It's an amazing down piece that will keep you warm and comfy throughout these cold winter days. Very light to carry, it packs up very small and makes a nice pillow when travelling by rolling it up in the hood. The outer fabric is nice and strong and actually handles a little rain really well. Don't push it though, it's not a waterproof piece!

At first I was worried about bringing my beautiful Thorium puffy on my trip to Hueco, but it withstood an incredible amount of abuse; scraping on sharp rocks, brushing against the spikiest desert plants and getting shoved into crash pads. I wore that puffy jacket everyday of the trip and it still looks pristine! The Thorium definitely gets the desert stamp of approval!

I wanted a jacket with a warm hood to keep the bone chilling wind off the back of my neck and I got it! Colorado cold- give it your best shot, I'll meet ya at sunrise at 8,000' and we will go from there.

I needed a jacket without worrying about the wind or cold air piercing through the jacket. For years I've been trying to find a down jacket for the quality and warmth for a decent price from a respectable brand. Boy am I happy I purchased this for our Vancouver weather! It's warm, I have room to put on a sweater, the hood is also very warm, and it's packable for my winter travels! I'm 5ft so the length is perfect for me. I usually have to size up for jackets just so I can wear a sweater but it's safe to say that this jacket doesn't require me to wear a sweater which is exactly what I've been looking for. So far the temperature has been 4 degrees in the city so I'm excited to test it out during the snowy days.
I'm hoping that sometime in the future the logos will be made of some reflective material rather than just the original fabric stitching. It would be helpful when your out for walks at night time especially when it gets dark early around 4pm during the winter (and it's still dark when your on your way to work in the morning) and you have to cross the cross walks without good street lights. Just a thought!

Have had this jacket about a month now and love it. Needed something heavier and this jacket is perfect. Light weight yet SO warm. I am petite with short torso and the cut is a tad long. I run into this often, but being able to tighten the cinch cord at the bottom of the jacket and tuck it under helps.

Bought this online recently for my tall almost 9 year old. We love the sinch cord at the hood, and the inner pockets are awesome. Here is hoping it still fits her next winter.
